Chapter 49: The Love-Love fruit?
The Z pirates were looking towards the sky as lightning kept on roaring furiously and majestically.
"What's going? Why is there so much lightning gathered in the west area of the Island??" Yuri asked a bit scared as she kept looking at the roaring lightning.
"Should we check? Maybe something bad happened to Mark?" Alice said worriedly as she turned her head towards Yuri.
"We were told not to go over there no matter what by the captain." Capone Bege answered as he smoked his cigar with a skeptical look on his face.
"Get back to training, now!" Satyr jr looked at the sky for a second before screaming towards the Z pirates to work harder. Flint was among the people training with Satyr jr.
Trafalgar Law was also training very hard, he had a goal to accomplish and he would never forget it even though this situation might have made a slight setback to his original plans.
Hancock had already dropped Luffy off at Impel down and then returned, she was supposed to go to Marineford as an extra defense as a seven warlord of the sea.
But she decided to visit Mark first before leaving again. She walked over to the camp first and then received the news that he was training at the west area of the island, Capone tried to warn her that Mark didn't want anyone to disturb him but this didn't stop her from still going over to him, with a basket full of food.
Mark was utterly exhausted, he had almost separated the west area of the island into two parts. He could be seen staring towards the sky as if he was expecting something.
Suddenly a slim figure came running over, of course, the figure was Hancock she had finally found Mark.
Mark turned around as he saw her running over at high speed.
"Oh, Hancock you're back," Mark said as he smiled towards her.
"Yes, husband! I brought some food." Hancock said sheepishly.
Mark found himself speechless, since when did he become her husband? It was just removing a slave mark, since when does that grant one the position of a husband?
"Well, thanks for the food," Mark said as he grabbed towards the meat and wine on her basket.
"What happened here?" Hancock asked curiously as she looked around at the unfamiliar landscape with a perplexed face.
"Just doing some stretches." Mark laughed as he scratched his head. He actually felt a bit guilty and embarrassed about how he had treated the island, this was Hancock's home and he had obviously destroyed half of the west area.
But she didn't seem to really blame him which took him by a surprise, she had obviously changed drastically from the overbearing manners she had when he just arrived at the island to the understandable woman standing in front of him now, and not even blaming him.
"Aren't you supposed to be at Marineford right now?" Mark asked curiously as he eats the food Hancock brought with her.
"Yes, but I wanted to see you first," Hancock said while her face turned red. This sentenced sounded so intimate when she said it, as she thought happily at her choice of words.
"Haha, thanks." Mark laughed at Hancock's behavior, of course, he could see what she was trying to do, but he didn't point it out.
He sat on the ground as he just kept eating silently, Hancock noticed his behavior as she walked over to him and began to massage his shoulders.
"What are you doing?" Mark asked surprised as he saw her actions.
"I'm just helping you relax," Hancock answered with an extremely beautiful smile.
"Well, thank you then," Mark said with a happy smile as he kept on eating.
"Could you do me a favor?" Hancock said with a serious face, which made her look extremely cute.
Mark was taken aback by her beautiful seriously looking face, he began to feel something unknown in his heart, his face changed when he suddenly thought of something before biting hard down on his hand. His hand began to bleed immediately.
"What are you doing?" Hancock asked in a concerned tone when she saw his actions.
What the hell is up with her powers, just hearing a sentence from her almost cost him his life.
"Nothing, what favor?" Mark said embarrassingly, he obviously couldn't tell her that he almost became a diehard slave of hers after hearing her say just one sentence. This was obviously the power of her devil fruit, the love-love fruit. She must have used it unconsciously.
The powers of the fruit can cause any victims, whether they're male or female, with feelings of lust to fall for the user of the fruit as any feelings of lust they have will be strengthened and aimed towards the user, making them even more susceptible to the fruit's petrification effects.
Since Hancock possesses near unparalleled beauty, enticing men with her powers takes very little effort while with women she will use more flirtatious and "cutesy" behavior. Mark wasn't any saint, of course, he would have to be careful around Hancock because of her devil fruit ability.
While the fruit's powers, specifically the aforementioned technique, use the focused lust of a user, if the intended targets have no sense of lust or cannot see her (such as being blind), then the powers are nullified.
This can be achieved either by being distracted by other emotions, such as pain, bitterness, and fear, or by simply lacking lust, to begin with.
"Don't drink too much wine," Hancock said as she blinked innocently, with a mesmerizing smile on her face.
"Haha, no problem," Mark replied as he laughed half-heartedly.
"Good then! I will be leaving for Marineford now." Hancock said as she kissed Mark on the cheek before getting up and walking away.
Mark sat completely still as he reached for the cheek Hancock just kissed and a bitter smile formed on his face.
Only on the cheek? He thought silently.
