Chapter 42: Zoya and Recoil decide to dedicate the monotony of their carriage ride to learning telepathy too..
When they made camp that evening, Vladimir informed the ladies that the Mountain Dog had chosen a name, Rurik! "He is very excited about it," he added.
"I admire your choice!" Zoya said smiling at Rurik. "Its a proud beautiful name for a proud beautiful Dog." She told him.
Hearing that, the dogs head almost burst with pride, it jumped to its feet then excitedly it began to stride back and forth, smiling at the trio. Happy with its choice.
Vladimir and Recoil had to stop themselves from laughing.
I've had a break through with this telepathy business with Rurik, Vladimir told them.
He explained the semi-meditative state that he had fallen into when riding and how the tendril like wisps had appeared in the ether of his mind.
Then he went on to tell the ladies how he made the connection with the strongest of the wisps which bridged a mental connection with Rurik..
Zoya and Recoil listened attentively to Vladimir's tale, realizing that he had stumbled upon the process that they would need to use to communicate mentally themselves..
Because of the value of this new information, the two girls decided then and there to dedicate the monotony of the rest of their carriage journey to developing their own telepathic connection.
They knew such a link would be priceless to them for their plans in Novosibirsk.
Meanwhile, outside of the carriage among the Riders, Vladimir and Rurik would continue to build on their abilities.
