Olivia had a hard time believing what she had just heard: a neurosurgeon at the age of 21/22? Was that a popular joke among doctors that normal people would not understand? How was that even possible?
At least she was not the only one shocked: her father and brother shared the same confusion with her. They had heard of many things but not of such a genius. Their desire to meet the benefactor of their family had instantly increased by a notch. This was especially the case for Olivia who had already started viewing Sia as a role model: no, more like an idol to worship.
On the other side of the city, Sia was completely oblivious to the impact she had unwillingly left on the people in the Southern hospital. She was done with her work much later than expected as she finished only around ten at night. As she was leaving the hospital she immediately called Alex back as she saw his numerous calls during the day.
Her call was picked in a matter of seconds and Alex's annoyed voice greeted her straight away,
"Siana Illes! Who was supposed to meet me in the evening!?"
Siana knew this was coming so she had already mentally prepared her answer,
"My dear cousin, how could you be angry with someone who had just saved lives? You can't be so selfish as to wish to neglect the lives of others just for your good time, can you? I wished to call you all this time but I was truly running from one operating theatre to another. I -"
Before she could finish, Alex interrupted her in exasperation,
"Okay, stop. Don't sugarcoat your wrongs. You win."
"Does that mean you aren't angry with me any more?" Sia probed carefully.
Alex couldn't help but consent in defeat, "Yeah."
This was all Sia wanted to hear, so she quickly switched back to her cheery self, "Yay! Okay then do you still wanna meet this beautiful cousin of yours?"
"I have been in the parking lot of your hospital since ages ago. Just walk here. I will walk towards you meanwhile," Alex got off the car while talking and started going towards the entrance of the hospital while looking for a platinum haired girl.
"Okay perfect! See you in a minute then!" Sia hastened her steps and similarly started looking for Alex.
It truly didn't take more than a minute or two for them to find each other. As there was no jealous boyfriend or a friend in love in the vicinity the two of them gave each other a heartfelt hug. Their closeness was pretty weird considering that they didn't know each other for long. Nonetheless, they simply clicked with each other and, probably because blood was thicker than water, they felt really close to one another.
Their connection somehow felt a bit magical.
As they sat in the car the two of them buckled their seatbelts. Being the guest in the city, Alex casually asked about a place they could go to, not even dreaming of the answer Sia would give him,
"Let's go to The Southern Hospital."
"What? Hospital again? Sia, can you please be slightly more creative at times?" Alex couldn't hide his annoyance any longer.
He made a decision at the moment to take Sia to the shopping malls every time they met. No, he would actually take her to the same boring clothing shop each time so that she knew how he felt about hospitals.
However, in contrary to his expectations, Sia wasn't joking and, as if that wasn't enough, she rolled her eyes and didn't hide the slight disdain in them,
"Don't you dare look down on hospitals, got it? And anyways, where has your brain power been used up at? Do you think I go to hospitals as my pastime? Something happened which is why I need to go there."
'You don't go to hospitals as pastime? Why do I have a hard time believing that, huh?' However, Alex didn't voice his thoughts and followed the instructions of the navigator to the hospital. On the way, he asked her to explain why she wanted to go there to which she eagerly recounted about Mrs. Lucy Wilson.
"So you mean to say, that not only did you save her life but you also want to go see her afterwards?"
Alex was truly confused: did she have free time at hand or what? How could she bother going to see someone she didn't even know. However, once again this question of his served to piss Sia off,
"What do you mean by that? Of course I want to see how she is doing. When you do something you do it until the end. I helped her and I want to make sure that she is completely alright. And though I believe in my colleagues, I still prefer seeing things by myself.
Moreover, I was the last person she saw before losing her consciousness, what if she wakes up frightened? What if she wants to see me? How can I just let her be after providing some minor help?" Her voice was calm yet extremely firm throughout her speech. It was obvious that she wouldn't accept no as an answer, so all Alex could do was oblige to her demands and continue driving to the hospital.
"Okay, sorry, I was wrong. We'll do as you say."
"That's not enough."
"Eh? What else do you want from me."
"You will need to make a stop at a supermarket and buy some fruit and yogurts for Mrs Lucy as an apology."
Alex was left speechless by her way of doing things: why go in circles if she could simply tell him to go to the supermarket? He really couldn't fathom how the brain of a genius worked.
After they were done with their shopping, they finally left for the hospital. The shopping, that was supposed to be a simple one, turned into a long expedition because of Sia's presence. She had literally checked the energy values and ingredients of the food they were buying, in her words, to "make sure that they were appropriate for the patient." For the first time in his life Alex felt like buying food for someone was a really complicated job and something that not just anyone could do. He also chose to never buy any food for Sia unless she asked for something herself or else she might just tell to his face that she didn't like it or wouldn't eat it. It was, after all, something she would totally do, given her brutal honesty and straightforwardness. Seemed like she wasn't just a normal foodie but rather a professional one!
After about ten minutes they finally reached the hospital. Though it wasn't the visiting hours, the operating cardiologist was around and was more than happy to walk Sia to the patient's ward. It was practically a breach of regulations but considering Sia's standing in the medical world he was sure there wouldn't be any problems with her visit.
As they neared the ward, the doctor went on ahead to the ward to let the family know about Sia's arrival. Upon hearing the news, everyone was more than excited to meet Sia, so they readily agreed to her night visit.
Soon the doctor left to return with two additional guests: a woman of incomparable beauty and charm and a man equally handsome and charismatic sharing a common trait of platinum hair.
