Chapter 9: (Passing the chits)

I don't think, I've ever felt this tired. Last night, I couldn't sleep at all. Firstly, I couldn't stop thinking about that vision or dream or whatever that was and then I was scared of seeing that wolf again. Thus, I ended up tossing and turning in my bed for the entire night.

As I stand in front of the mirror, I cannot help but cringe internally. God, I look like hell. After fixing myself, I leave for the class. Lost in my thoughts, I don't see where I'm going and smack right into a guy... bad thing he was holding two cups of coffee. Oh no! Dammit... ugh... I'll be late for my class now. I quickly apologize to the guy and offer to buy him another coffee to which he refuses. Hmm... Sweet. Good thing is I always keep a pair of spare clothes in my locker. Cursing myself for being stupid, I run back and change quickly. I'm already running late by five minutes and when I enter my class, the professor is already there teaching the class about all sorts of protein. And guess what... there are 49 students in the class...Just what I needed, one day...It's just one day that I'm late and the entire class is here on time. Dammit! It's just not my day.

I scan the classroom quickly and feel my heart sinking more and more because not only I'm late to the class but now guess who am I going to sit with? Any guesses? No?

Yes... It's the bloody Greek god. The professor gives me a look that says 'Do I need to find a carriage for you to sit on the seat'.

Jesus! I make my way through the throng of the students and sit on the seat beside Alden. I try to concentrate on what the professor is saying... keyword... try, when suddenly there's a slip on my desk. I look up but Alden is looking ahead and he actually seems interested in what the professor is saying. I pick up the slip and open it up to look what's written inside.

I look up and Alden is looking at me with raised eyebrows as if asking well? And I smile internally because it seems so cliche to pass on the chits like we used to do in school.

The chit said "Are you alright?"

I look up and Alden is looking at me with raised eyebrows as if asking well? And I smile internally because it seems so cliche to pass on the chits like we used to do in school... err... I mean kids do in school. He's probably asking that because of yesterday's incident...Maybe he's concerned about me?

I nod towards him letting him know that indeed I'm Ok. See people? I can after all converse with him without getting lost in his eyes... Just like a normal girl.

I'm writing about different cycles when another slip is there on my notebook. Call it girl power but I don't look to see if it's from Alden because I know it's from him... Don't ask me why but I know. I open it up and read...

It said, "Had any luck with that audition?"

Audition? What audition? I try to remember as to why he would ask such a thing when I realize... Oh Shit! He's asking about the audition for the theater club. Jesus H. Christ... what am I gonna tell him now?

He nudges me when I don't reply him. Upon receiving no response again, he lowers down (because let's face it guys even if I sit straight as a rock, I'm shorter than him) and whispers slowly "If you want, we can go together... you know if you are feeling nervous or anything like that... I could be there for moral support". He winks at me.

"I think I'll have to pass", I look past him to only find the barbie furiously shooting daggers at my way. She must've been witnessing this whole encounter. No wonder she's angry... I mean what girl would like to hear her boyfriend offering moral support to another girl. Luckily for me the bell rings on time and barbie stands up and takes Alden's hand and is out of the room within a second. Well... it's going to be a long day.
