Chapter 19: (Not a good dancer)
The venue for the party is great and now I know why Rae wanted me to dress up. I mean it's everything like they say in the movie. Shawn's parents have gone for a vacation and left their pad for him, which I must say...he's utilizing effectively.
The music can be heard from down the street. People are everywhere. Rae and I enter the pad and just then get attacked (in my terms) with Rae's friends...a lot of them. I look around me as they meet and greet.
"Guys, this is Shia. My roommate. And Shia these are friends...Chad, Andrew, Lily, Matt, Tina, Will, Sabrina and Ethan. I must say all of her friends are just like her. Cute and kinda crazy but the level of, I'll get to know later...anyways we shouldn't lose the topic.
I catch Ethan looking at me a couple of times as we chat and play at the party. It's already been an hour or two...I don't remember exactly as I'm really enjoying myself. I've just finished my second glass as Ethan asks me to dance with him.
As we approach the DJ, Rae's voice makes me turn around and I fail to hide my surprise because Rae is with none other than Cade and not only with him but pretty much sitting on him. She makes gestures to come closer. I look at Ethan and we make our way toward them.
"Shia, meet my boyfriend Cade. Cade this is Shia" Cade shakes his hand with me while smiling.
"It's nice to meet you again Shia" He smirks while Rae frowns.
"you guys have met before?" She looks at me questioningly.
"Oh yeah, didn't she tell you. Shia and Alden have gotten an assignment together"
"Oh, all the best babe" she winks at me.
Alden is sitting with Barbie and her minions while sipping his drink and ignoring me simultaneously.
"Let's dance" Rae stands up while Cade smacks her bottom right in front of us.
"Babe" Rae exclaims even though all of us can see her grin. Weird kink they're into.
"should've thought about that before wearing this tight dress, doll" He winks at her. Jesus!
"you didn't tell me you were dating Alden's friend" I ask Rae after we reach a spot where I know they won't be able to hear us.
"Didn't I?" She asks as if she really forgot.
I give her a look to which she smiles. "Oh, c'mon Shi, chill...I knew you might refuse to come to the party and Cade is a really nice guy once you get to know him"
"if you say so" I smile at her because who am I to judge, right?
We're in the middle of dancing when I feel Ethan coming close to me. The music changes from pop to a slow one. Everyone scuttles back to leave space for the couples. I look around feeling out of order and ready to go back when Ethan takes my hand.
"Dance with me?"
I could've said no but the way he asked me with a shy smile...I end up saying yes.
"Even though, I should warn you that I'm not a good dancer" I wince.
"Don't worry, I'm here" he winks and grins at me.
And in no time, we're dancing in a rhythm. Ethan's arms are around my waist and my hands are on his shoulder. I don't even realize as Ethan moves his face closer to me and almost kisses me but somehow ends up on the floor. WTF
"Don't you dare fucking touch her" Ethan is grabbing his nose in pain as the blood is running down his nose, while a very angry Alden is standing above him and I'm standing like a statue.
It takes me a moment to realize what just happened but that moment is enough for Alden to kick Ethan in the stomach which acts as a wake up call for me.
"WTH are you doing Richards?" I push him back but he doesn't budge at all.
I crouch down to help Ethan to stand.
"Are you alright?" His nose is bleeding and he's holding his stomach. I can only imagine how much pain he must be feeling.
"I'm fine. I'm sorry you had to see that" he winces.
"It's alright. You can't be held responsible for someone else's actions" I say, glaring at Alden.
"Let's go, I'll call a cab and drop you at your place"
In a blink of an eye, Alden is in front of us making me stagger back.
"you're not going anywhere with him, Angel" He says.
"It's none of your business, Richards" I'm angry with the way he's reacting. I mean... who the fuck does this guy think he is?
