The problem was that he wanted Mia to say that she knew him and was his first love... Owen and Mia were indeed in a relationship 7 years ago but at the end of his matriculation Owen had to leave to study abroad in the States. Mia could not bear to see him leave. She cried everyday, sobbing quietly so that her friends and families would not see her in that state and grieve for her. She also lost contact with Owen the moment he left.... But little did she know the real reason behind Owen's reason for not contacting her anymore. The moment he landed in the United States, he told his parents about Mia and how they met and fell in love. Owen was a homely and open man who would share his personal and love life with his parents, so as to gain their trust and also their opinions. But when Owen told them about Mia, the first question his mother asked was, " Owen, my boy, is Mia from a wealthy and respectable family?. Owen kept mummed for a few minutes and after a while told her, "Mom, she isn't from a wealthy family... but she is from a decent family". Owen's mother, Kim clearly knew what he meant by that.. Owen's family were highly reputable and wealthy from generations to generations. They were one of the richest family in Japan, the Kung's while Mia's parents were merely of a middle class family. Owen's parents objected his feelings for Mia and tried to separate them. Owen for the first time in his life, fought against his parents. They were shocked and at the same time sad to know that the son that they had fed and groomed with all their love and wealth would one day go against his parents wishes. Their unconditional love was now reciprocated with his cupboard love (affection that is feigned in order to obtain something).
So, Owen's parents blocked her number and even threatened Mia that if she doesn't leave their son, unbearable consequences would be met by her family.
Two months had passed, Mia avoided all calls and texts from Owen. She did not want to be a victim of a heinous crime by the rich, moreover even if she was with the man she loved and married him, she knew that they would really never have a legitimate marriage blessed by both the families and maybe even resort to eloping which she was strongly against.. She wanted a happy family rather than dividing a parent from her child... She was a thoughtful person.
While walking on the street with these thoughts in mind she crossed the road and suddenly saw a bright coloured light descending towards her. She tried to move away but was too late. An SUV had hit her and left her leg and part of her head injured. The passersby came rushing towards her and immediately took her to the nearest hospital. Her parents were informed about their daughter's accident. They rushed to the hospital and there they met their daughter lying helpless and covered in bruises.Tears came running down their eyes and then the doctor came out and told them the tragic news. The doctor said, " Are you Ms. Mia's parents? I'm sorry to tell you that your daughter has post- traumatic amnesia. She won't be able to remember every phase of her life and family and the worst is that it is difficult for her to recover "
On hearing this, Mia's parent were dumb strucked and fell to the ground and cried saying, "Why must this happen to our family!? Our most precious daughter, why must she be the victim... Lord, why are you so cruel?? "
Mia was a very hard working and the most intelligent and beautiful among her three sisters.. While her other sisters were living life to the fullest she did a part time job and worked as a server in a restaurant while studying earnestly at the same time.. The same year that Owen had left, she got an acceptance letter from the most prestigious university in Japan, the Kyoto University.. But she could not afford to go as her father was treated with brain tumor and felt guilty of leaving her father in a dying state like that..
The amnesia that Mia had was the reason why she forgot all about the past and left Owen in a state of sadness and shock..
