Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Red Awaking 2

Prue quickly pulled him into the room and gently set him on the bed. He panted as he touched his head where the wound was. Prue ran to her dresser and opened the smallest drawer. Inside was medical supplies. She brought out bandages, scissors, disinfectant, and cotton balls. After grabbing all the supplies, she ran back to Brain. He looked as if he was about to faint. Taking the disinfectant and cotton ball, she lifted his hair and disinfected his wound. He winced every time the substance swept across his wound. Blood flowed out like a stream. Prue's face had only one expression, worry. Brian was the only person in the world she cared about. They only had each other, they only needed each other. She then bandaged his head gently but packed enough for the blood to stop. Prue then squeezed him as if he was going to disappear. He didn't have the strength to. It was clear that the father has punished him. This was nothing new, this was very normal to them. Seeing Brain like this made Prue want to cry, but as mentioned before, it was almost impossible. Brain slowly leaned back on the bed. Prue sighed before putting the box away. She was just walking back to Brian when her heart stopped. Their father had just knocked on the door. A deadly silence broke in the room. Their eyes filled with fear as the door slightly opened. Prue's heart dropped into her stomach as she trembled. Brain sat back up fighting against the swelling pain in his head.

"Prue honey, it's time for school. You wouldn't want to be late." Father said in an innocent voice.

Prue shook as she looked at Brian. Brian looked down and gestures her to go. She slowly walked to the door. Grabbing her bag off the back of the door, she opened it and walked out. Her father was standing in the hall smiling innocently. Prue clenched her fists as she saw blood splatter on all the walls. The dark red substance gave out a horrible small which made Prue want to throw up. She held back and slowly stepped over the blood puddle. Her father followed her outside. The car ride was silent, too silent. She couldn't help but think about Brian. She hasn't been this scared since the makeup bag incident. Her heart was racing as the thoughts of Brian rushed through her head. She was so caught up in her thoughts, she didn't realize her father stopping the car. He stopped and rolled down her his window.

"Marcus, would you like to ride?" Her father asked smiling.

Prue suddenly looked to her left in the back and indeed, Marcus was standing beside the car. He took a look into the back seat and glared at Prue. Her father saw this glare and was thinking. Marcus nodded slowly and got into the back beside Prue. Father began to drive to the academy. Prue scooted to the far side of the car and Marcus stayed on his side. Silence filled the back seat while her father rambled on trying to make Marcus smile.

'Why is he here?' Prue thought with a glare.

Marcus had his usual glare on his face too and didn't say a word, he didn't even look at her. Both of them were silent. Father wasn't happy that Prue nor Brian hasn't made friends with Marcus. It was clear to Marcus that their father was just like his. Though he knew this, he didn't tend to care what happened to them. Sure, he helped them with the sports, but for the most part, he won't do much.
