Chapter 37: Chapter 37

"Young miss, if there's nothing else I'll take my leave." Steward Gu said and bowed before his body suddenly dissolved into grains of particles that soon disappeared.

Ming Yue woke up from her thoughts and then sat down and had her lunch.

After she had had her lunch she walked into the pavilion and was about to head toward her room to change her clothing before going to the library and look into inscriptions. However, as she entered the hall she remembered she had already bathed and the sect uniform would never get dirty due to its magical material.

She slapped her forehead as she realized she was still following the routine she had when she was still living back on modern day earth.

She was about to turn around and head out again when she noticed Jun Xi's bedroom door was closed.

Frowning, she thought about her trap. What happened?

She walked over to the door and then carefully opened it as she looked up, but the bucket of water was gone!

She stepped inside the bedroom and looked around suspiciously, but didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

Frowning again, she walked back out and then into the bath house, and saw the bucket back at its original place.

And suddenly it dawned upon her, that Steward Gu must've put it back to its original place!

She grinded her teeth, so not even you will let me have my revenge? Immediately, her desire to learn inscriptions grew hoter. Perhaps, if she learned it well enough she could hack that useless butler into doing stuff according to her will? Wouldn't that be funny?

She laughed evily as she exited the bath house and fueled with an even stronger desire to learn inscription she headed down the peak toward the palace on the ninth peak.

As she entered the library, she was awestruck. Bookshelves lined the walls and reached over 90 feet above the floor. There were three levels, and a basement. The first level had a wide assortment of books, ranging from novels, science, history, math, biology, etc. The second level had cultivation manuals, martial arts manuals, formation manuals, inscription manuals, armament manuals, and much more. While the third level had books only the elders and teachers had access to. As for the basement it had mostly journals and letters the disciples of the sect had written as they went out into the world and completed various missions. It also had several letters of correspondence between various sects and nations. In short, it could be described as the sect's archives.

All disciples could read any book they wanted on the first and second level, however if they wanted to take them out of the library they had to pay a few sect points. The amount was different for each book, but on average it was about 20 sect points, and they could borrow the book for a maximum of one week before they had to return it. If they wanted to borrow it for longer they had to pay once again, however, there was a queue system in place, so if anyone else had signed up for a book, you had to wait for them to complete it. Fortunately, the sect would create several copies of a book if it was too popular so that the disciples didn't have to wait for too long.

As Ming Yue's gaze moved away from the incredibly tall bookshelves, she noticed several tables and chairs in the center of the library. A few disciples were here reading, some in groups, and a few all by themselves. Furthest back in the hall was the counter and two stairwells on each side that went up to the second level. Behind the counter were three disciples that managed the borrowing and returning of the books.

Ming Yue didn't know it yet, but all the disciples who worked in the library was actually doing a mission from the missions building, that anyone could sign up for. Apparently, they could earn 5 sect points a day by working in the library.

There was one elder who was the manager and overseer of the library, but he didn't seem to be here at the moment.

Ming Yue walked up to the second level and after a few minutes of searching she finally found a bookshelf which had books on inscriptions. However, when her gaze traveled up along the 30 ft tall bookshelf, feeling as if a giant unsurmountable mountain was threatening to crush her alive and every book was on the subject of inscription, only a single thought appeared in her mind: Nope! No way!

With no hesitation at all, she abrubtly turned her heel and was about to escape out of the library when her head suddenly hit a soft and bouncy matter.

Confused, she took a few steps back and saw she had just walked into a tall, beautiful, and curvaceous woman who looked like she was in her mid thirties. Besides her enormous breasts, that looked like they could pop out of her dress at any moment, the most eye-catching feature of her was the small birthmark beside her seductive lips.

Ming Yue was about to excuse herself and quietly leave when a seductive woman's voice licked her ear, "You're interested in learning the art of inscription?"

Ming Yue was stunned and blushed severely. Even though she had no interest in the same sex, she couldn't help but feel pulled toward the voice. Shyly looking up at the woman in front of her, she couldn't help but subconsciously nod her head.

"Great! Come with me!" The curvaceous woman said and suddenly grabbed Ming Yue by the arm, and before Ming Yue had any clue of what was happening, she was already on a flying sword, flying out the library along with the curvaceous woman.

Several disciples, who had suddenly pulled their books close to their noses, shivering in fear the moment they noticed the curvaceous woman entering the library, finally let out breath of relief while simultaneously bereaving the poor girl who was kidnapped by her. They could only lament over her bad luck of attracting that woman's attention.
