Yue woke up in a daze and saw the man who carried her here was sleeping in a chair beside her bed and the man who shot an arrow at her was outside, standing guard. She covered her wounded right arm with her hand and healed it.
So she was back now. She regained her status in the Heavenly realm but the Heavenly Emperor couldn't allow her to stay since she wasn't able to fulfill her mission yet, the sole reason why she was born and was given to the Empire of Li.
After making a small noise, she woke up Jiahao.
"Yue..." he said as he quickly stood up to check on her wound.
"I'm fine now, don't worry about me," she smiled.
"D-Do you remember me?" he asked as he stood beside the bed. He clenched his fist not wanting to know if she remembered him or not.
Yue realized he was still the same Jiahao that she grew up playing with.
"Sit down," she said as she patted the place beside her.
Jiahao quickly sat down which made her giggle. He really hasn't changed. He's still the obedient playmate he once was.
She encircled him in a warm embrace and patted his head.
"I'm sorry for leaving," she said as he stroked his head.
"Why? Why did you leave?" he asked as he clenched his jaw. He knew why but he wanted to hear it from her.
She let him go and smiled at him gently.
"You know why, Your Highness. Now... I'd like to meet my brother first," she said as she stood up. The prince then put a cloak on her shoulders as the tent was getting colder from the winter outside.
Jiahao called Xuefeng inside.
But as soon as Xuefeng laid his eyes on his sister, his tears couldn't seem to stop flowing.
"I'm home, brother," she said as she opened her arms. Xuefeng slowly made his way to her arms. As he hugged her, he realized she wasn't the weak and frail sister she once was.
"I'm sorry for leaving, brother," she said.
"It's alright," he said as he stroked her head. "I know you have your reasons," he smiled.
"Yue... there is something that we should discuss with you," Jiahao said as he led her to a chair.
She touched his face gently and smiled at him, making his worries fade away.
"I am well aware of the situation," she said. "Tell me what your plan is."
Jiahao nodded.
"We will be going back to the city but it will be a long trip and your safety is our priority. So, we decided to leave first tonight in secret," he explained.
She nodded and stayed silent for a few moments.
"I appreciate your concern, Your Highness. But as a prince who successfully won the war, you must leave together with your soldiers. I have a better idea," she smiled as she stood up.
She twirled and as she did this, fiery flames were sprouting everywhere. It was a magnificent sight to see. And in a second, she turned into a red phoenix and then turned back to her human form again.
"Go prepare me a cage," she said.
"That is out of the discussion. We don't want to put you in a cage," Xuefeng said. "The prince's plan is flawless. I will leave with you tonight instead of the prince if that concerns you so much."
"No... although I am concerned with Hao's image, I am also concerned for my safety, brother. I am a phoenix. A heavenly being that could tell the future and the past. An assassin will be waiting on our way," she said in full seriousness.
Hearing this became a shock to both men. They forgot in a split second that she was now heavenly being. They had no choice but to agree to her plans.
After discussing a few more details about the plan, they all retired for the day since Yue still need to rest for her recuperate her energy again.
And that night, as Jiahao laid on the long chair inside his tent. A smile was drawn on his lips. He was happy. It was the first time he genuinely felt happiness for the past 3 years.
And it was all because of her.
