Chapter 9: The Old Paves Way To the New (3)

Flitz waited in abated breaths, with a deep anxiousness of the his anticipation. It only served it a fuel with his fatigue sensations, the exhaustion of his mentality undergoing the present circumstances.

The council members who unreservedly exploded in anger, had finally felt their fear, now that they had also made these mistakes. They could now clearly relate to the old man earlier, silently shuddering in fear, awaiting their doom. Now they had incurred his wrath, their fates was already destined in one outcome: to die.

According to that man's temperament, killing them all even if wasting the already scarce human resources of this organization, would not be a hindrance to halt him taking an eccentric action.

They all stood frozen as they had regained their senses. Every council members was slowly taking a glimpse of that man, wanted to see his expression. They had seen that man seemed to curl his lips upward, even by the shadows of the darkness.

Everyone felt like he smiled eerily. He seemed to be enjoying the show. But even still, all of the council members would not disrespect the rules anymore.

It felt like they would be swallowed by an enormous pitch-black mouth and they would be consumed by it entirely if one just made a simple mistake. The sheer terror had greatly vanished their fierce attitude earlier as if they had been soaked and poured by ice cold liquid. They sat back to their chairs carefully.

The other council members was better off. They haven't made the same mistakes like others as if they could see the cunningness of how shrewd Voltar was. It seemed to be a trap for them to let them break a rule, and be punished to death.

Their eyes flickered maliciously, not letting Voltar have the last laugh. Their old experience had managed to make them see the scene in a clear light.

But Voltar was loftily unperturbed. He was concerned by nothing as if what happened had not managed to stir his heart. He was still talking expressionless.

"Flitz Kuran's cultivation will not hardly take on an issue. I prefer he should take the role of the "Night Lurker", the greatest position, having a shared of tremendous benefits second only by the sole leader of the organization. Any objections?" Voltar's silhouette seemed to lift his lips, delightedly looking down to the others.

"Complete objection!" Without further ado, the sickly voice with a tone of graveness was once again echoed out to this dark place.

All those red eyes stared ferociously to Voltar, fully objected to his decisive notion.

Even without the pressure of terrible auras, Flitz at the floor down below, greatly tensed up. All of his higher ups seemed to harbor an ill intent to him, after Voltar had blatantly offended them.

Even though he didn't do anything...

He gazed up above, full of wary and worry.

Voltar had his red eyes slit in a narrow line. He stared piercingly at the old man who spoke out. That old man's form was hunchbacked, a silhouette of a sick person yet was still giving a strong aura.

"I'm afraid you cannot refuse. Each and every one of you don't have a higher authority than me." Voltar uttered out aloud, his tone full of cold confidence.

"Haha, why do you think so?" The sick old man lightly laughed in contempt before asking a stupid question. To think a mere arrogant brat who just entered the council for two years, could utter out such words; he could not help but laugh in disdain.

The other council members had a gleam of savage in their red eyes. Their auras leaked out in oppression that slightly constricted Flitz again in pressure. They could not be condemn by such arrogance and bear to a humiliation.

Their pernicious thoughts started to develop in a wicked intent.

"There is only one position that is authoritatively higher than anyone of us here sitting on these chairs." Instead of answering directly, Voltar only hinted them with a profound sentence.

"You meant the leader?" The sick old man asked in puzzlement.

Everyone including Flitz was baffled by Voltar's words.

Does he want to be the leader himself?

"Hehe" Instead of replying with an answer, Voltar chuckled in insidious pleasure. He spoke calmly,

"I think you have already know of a way if one wanted to be a leader himself. It is very simple."

He coldly looked at everyone.

"You mean--!!" The old sick man was shocked as he came up with an unbelievable thought.

"Yes, that is to slay his life and forcefully take the mantle of his position." He spoke potently, his puissant words resounded out the place powerfully.

His dark silhouette that only his outline was distinctly visible, had suddenly lightened up in ruddy light. It was his robe that started to awaken its elemental property embedded to its designs.

The red light illuminated his area, his whole appearance was apparent to see. His lips crooked up in a devilish smile and while his face was covered by half a mask horizontally, those material red eyes as part of the mask, contained within an obvious ridicule.

Both of his hands lifted gracefully in the air, his palm opened wide. Above of his left palm, there was a violet puff of smoke constantly wafted out. Whereas to his right palm, a bloody liquid was pouring out, drenching the chair with its viscous property.

It was a twin innate element in the legends!

The "Curse" element with the property color of violet and the "Blood" element with the property color of pure red.

Everyone was utterly shocked by the sudden situation. The pressure emanated by the man was a terrible

Half-step Ocean Folding Realm.

Flitz Kuran down below, could not hold up any longer by the pressure as he suddenly puked out a lot of blood. His consciousness drifted off as he slumped on the floor.

All the council members shook in fear. They felt completely suppressed and their wicked thoughts fully vanished. Their eyes opened wide, unable to believe what had happened.

After a time of moments which seemed a long while, confusion immediately assail them along with a shocking thought.

The leader away in the distance could be seen slightly visible due to the light coming out from Voltar. He kept his smile, but to everyone's astonishment, it was not entirely a smile. His lips had curled upward to leak out blood in the corner of his lips.

It was a natural movement of the body, the facial muscles doing its work.

This naturally meant that earlier during the meeting, this man who was deemed as the terror of everyone's heart, the man who had shaken the city with his unreasonable strength; had silently fallen by the hands of a man in his twenties.

They looked full of utter terror to the man sitting at the middle area of the floating chairs. To think he was greatly capable of hiding his cultivation level and his twin element that was only deemed as a legend.

If he was found by the vampires, he would be immediately recruited and be one of its nobles. A royal knight could be easily grasped and becoming a royal was highly probable.

His intelligence could not be also taken lightly of, his cunningness was off the charts. To be able to calmly act throughout the process of council meeting, that proved his own capability of easily taking different situations. A multi-talented ruler, an already proclaimed sovereign since his birth!

To think this was only a man aging at 27 with a cultivation of "Quasi-Ocean Fold Realm"!

Strength determined one status.

All of them bowed down in worship to Voltar Xulem, their eyes showed earnest eagerness to work under his dark wings. It was a natural occurrence to a person extremely gifted and powerful.

The rise of the once extremely renowned organization, "Ravarisk", would only be a matter of time.

Voltar smiled widely, extremely exuberant. His cold eyes showed mirth deeply inside, as he looked gratifyingly at everyone. It seems the notion of everyone offending him earlier, had vanished immediately.

He looked at the hawk-eyed person down below. Even if the person had lost his consciousness, he professed amidst all of the bowing people, "Flitz Kuran, late-staged mortal realm cultivator, will take my spot as a council member. He will serve as a temporary "Night Lurker", until he will be officially acknowledged once he had passed the test. A ceremony would rightfully take place after mine."

Voltar Xulem, adorned by his intricate robes pouring out ruddy brilliance, takes a step forward to a man sitting alone in large chair in a distance away. The healthy reddish light he exuded also followed him, as he took each step towards the destination.

The leader's visible facial appearance was now lucent. He had short white hair, with visible old age entailing its characteristics. A narrow etch of line run down his left visage, forming a scar. His body skin withered in time, causing lumps across all over his being especially on his face.

He seemed as if he was poisoned but to be exact, he was cursed. His skin's appearance had a visible color of violet, the property color of curse. His death was justifiable, for it was an assassin's field of work. It was a righful defeat either killed in the dark or openly.

Suddenly, his corpse suddenly withered out in blood as if it was being pulled by something. It forcefully went out all of the body's holes especially on the face's orifices.

It then floated into the air towards Voltar and entered through his palms that was stretched towards, already awaiting to absorb the blood. It seemed to have a dimension, as it vanished immediately once came contact to skin.

The leader was now in a state of pitiful form: a shriveled bony corpse.

Voltar smirked eerily as he controlled a mysterious force, bringing a strong impact of wave that assaulted the sympathetic body.

It dispersed into nothingness, leaving none behind to resemble of his past existence.

Voltar had already approached the chair, his expression apathetic. The light his robes brought out showed the visible form of the floating chair.

Wind continued to silently bellow and assail the area below the chair, lifting it to the air. In contrast to the council member's chairs, this particular noteworthy chair represented the status of a leader with its sophisticated features and opulent designs.

It held an art image of a blue creature with two horns on its face, stealthily lurking in the illusion of reality. An oceanic colored smoke wafted out below the legs of the creature, the first sign when it started to turn invisible.

The mythical creature had a name of "Rikimaru". A beast with insidious appearance, having a perpetual invisibility unless it showed itself. It travelled the cosmos, skittering between the boundary of the tangible reality and the intangible illusion.

Voltar sat in a nobly fashion. His aura compressed back to his being, the place no longer trembled by the pressurized weight.

He looked to Flitz Kuran, the hawk-eyed person, who had the status second only to him and bearing the temporary title of "Night Lurker". He was also a man in his twenties, only younger than him by a few years.

This man was full of wisdom and highly intelligent. He was only barred by materialistic resources, unable to provide assurance for his cultivation.

He had a treasure with him that peered sight of one's memories as if he was physically there to experience the scenes. As such, the credibility of his story was genuine. He had also witnessed how this hawk-eyed person proved his intelligent wisdom, hence, the proper successor of the "Night Lurker".

Afterwards, he looked at the old and late-aged council members, including some middle-age, still bowing down to him in worship. The passing of time had drastically affected their body with apparent changes of age.

He looked back to himself, clearly in his prime and full of strength. His vitality surging within him, his physique clearly getting stronger as time passed.

His red eyes shone malignant as he muttered out,

"The old paves way to the new."
