Chapter 3: Butterfly Effect
In the Xiao Family's territory, most the clan members gathered in the Xiao Family Manor to witness an interesting event.
Within less than 12 hours, the news of Qin Tianlong, the adopted grandson of the Xiao Patriarch Xiao Lin whilst the adopted son of Xiao Zhan, had actually injured his brother Xiao Li who was a Dou Zhe and three times the age of Qin Tianlong, spread throughout the entire Jia Ma Empire!
Many families and sects of the empire sent people to investigate if the rumors were true, and to their surprise and disbelief, was indeed true!
Some of the Xiao Family members had witnessed the fight themselves while the wound on Xiao Li's arm was still visible. Many wanted to meet Qin Tianlong for future benefits and some with enmity for the genius. However, the Xiao Family had closed all their gates to the outside world as a meeting was held in the Manor.
Qin Tianlong stood straight in front of an old man sitting down on the Patriarch seat while a middle-aged man stood beside him. The old man was Xiao Lin, Xiao Yan's grandfather who had died before the canon and Xiao Zhan, his adopted father and future Patriarch of the Xiao Family.
Elders of the clan stood behind Xiao Lin and Xiao Zhan while Xiao Yan and Xun Er stood beside Qin Tianlong. The clan members looking at the scene, felt themselves giggle a little. Seeing three kids who were below six years old, observing the elders of the clan while the elders did the same and observed the trio. This no doubt was a funny view to look at.
"Qin Tianlong."
Xiao Lin suddenly spoke while gesturing him to step closer. Qin Tianlong did as the old man gestured and walked towards him. The old man suddenly spoke about what was currently happening and the troubles that have come.
Regarding Xiao Lin, he didn't know how the old man thinks at all. In the story, he had died but with enough time to engage Xiao Yan to Nalan Yanran. But clearly, Xiao Yan wasn't engaged go anyone at all and the old man was still alive.
But that was what he thought was weird. In the manhua, it showed Nalan Yanran as a little girl when she first heard about her engagement. And Nalan Yanran was 3 years older than Xiao Yan. Clearly Xiao Yan should have been already engaged while Xiao Lin should have been dead.
But why did it not happen? Another butterfly effect because of his existence most likely.
"Qin Tianlong are you listening?"
Hearing a voice interrupt his thoughts, he came back to reality and saw the elders behind Xiao Lin glare at him. He smiled wryly and nodded.
Xiao Lin furrowed his brows. "Qin Tianlong, you do not understand the current predicament that your stunt had caused. Countless of forces want to meet you and some sees you a threat.", he spoke seriously with sharp eyes.
"Grandfather do not worry, I will be alright as long as I get strong enough to protect myself."
"Even if you did not say so, I will still make you do so. But in the mean time, you are still weak therefore I have arranged something that could help protect you."
The clansmen watching leaned their ears over as thry were curious how the Patriarch planned to protect him. Xiao Lin inhaled deeply and looked at the side where a cloth covered the room's entrance.
An old man about the same age of Xiao Lin came out and chuckled lightly.
"This is my old friend Nalan Jie. Patriarch of the Nalan Family and grandfather of the genius Nalan Yanran."
Xiao Lin introduced him to everyone while Qin Tianlong widened his eyes. Why was the old man of the Nalan Family here?!
Everyone in the empire knew who Nalan Jie was. The current Patriarch of the Nalan Family which was of the grestest families in the Empire, was a Dou Wang expert on the verge of becoming a Dou Huang!
Nalan Jie chuckled again and looked at Qin Tianlong.
"Not a bad pair for my granddaughter indeed old fellow! She may be 4 years older than him but I'm sure she'll be a good wife."
Everyone felt like a bomb was dropped on their heads. Countless of the clan members who were watching, along with Qin Tianlong, Xiao Yan and Xun Er was dumbfounded and frozen at his words.
"D-Did I hear just right? Miss Nalan Yanran would be engaged to the Patriarch's grandson?"
"Is this a dream? My idol would actually be married to him..."
"Are you some kind of pedophile? You are three times older than her."
Many talked among the clansmen watching from the sidelines.
"Silence!", Xiao Lin shouted at them and stood up.
"What you heard was indeed true. From this day, Qin Tianlong of the Xiao Family is now engaged with Nalan Yanran from the Nalan Family!"
As a child, Qin Tianlong tried not to react too much. But in his thoughts, he was actually a bit complaining and was also somewhat happy. In his time at Earth, Xun Er and Nalan Yanran was the only girls in Battle Through the Heavens that he was interested in.
Xun Er because of her little sister personality and Nalan Yanran with her somewhat damsel in distress kind of personality. The only thing he didn't like with those two was that one was cold as ice during her childhood while the other one was haughty and arrogant before getting defeated by Xiao Yan.
But he never expected to become her fianceé!
Meanwhile Xun Er was actually raging inside.
'Why did such a troublesome person have to come and engage them both!', she was somewhat furious inside because of the incident.
This side of Xun Er was actually already clear in the novel. When Xiao Yan had impregnated Cai Lin and she heard of it, she even tried forgetting about him! Luckily, she couldn't and therefore accepted reality.
Therefore, if unless needed, he didn't want to take a chance! Though Qin Tianlong wasn't sure about her thoughts regarding him, he was sure the hoped relationship he wanted would end before it even started.
Most of the meeting was ignored by him as thoughts ran around his head. The meeting soon finished with him nodding at everything mindlessly and returned to his courtyard with a sigh.
Though he wasn't sure about the relationship of a man and woman, he was still absolutely sure that Xun Er had come to like him. Therefore if he ever wanted a harem in the future, he would need to persuade the latter!
He stopped thinking of such things and decided to train again. If he was fated to not be with Xun Er, then so be it! He was only a child anyways and it was just the first step of his journey.
However, if he wanted to cultivate seriously, then he would need to seal himself in cultivation. By the start of the canon, He wanted to be at least a Da Dou Shi!
It was indeed a big goal, but not impossible for him. He closed his eyes and decided that his close cultivation would start in a week. Therefore, he could still have enough time with his family.
It was a tough choice, but needed. If possible, he wanted to stop the kidnapping of Xiao Zhan. But that would remove the goal of Xiao Yan to become stronger if he wanted to save him.
In the novel, the explanation of things seemed simple. But if you were ever you reincarnated here, then it was more than complicated. In such a short time, his life had already changed greatly.
Who knew what part of the canon would change because of him? Then again, wasn't his fault this was the first world he came to.
