Chapter 12: Interlude Part One: The Facility
A year after Luke and Lucifer met they were searching for the origins of Lucifers more special qualities. His past had came up in conversation and they had made headway into finding his past secrets. The memories he no longer had.
That research had led them here. A singular abandoned military facility set set deep in mountains. Unnoticeable apart from a hidden message Lucifer found when he and Luke retrieved his mother's will and its contents.
As they went closer they saw how the surrounding concrete wall that was set into the rock wall had a huge rubble littered hole in. It was like someone a drove a convoy of tanks at it and then hit it with fourty wrecking balls. The damage was tremendous.
Lucifer and Luke cautiously scampered through the rubble towards the main entrance and similar to the wall it was a scene of devastation. The doors had been blown of the hinges like someone had set up a cannon. Going closer an imprint of a tiny fist could been seen on the door. Surrounding the imprint was crumpled metal in crater like form.
Lucifer entered the facility fearing what he could find. Luke followed closely behind him, mirroring his fear but supporting his sworn brother.
As they entered the facility clear signs of battle could be scene. Gunshot holes, rust like stains and craters from explosions.
"What happened here?" Asked Luke out loud.
"I does appear we will find out this way." Lucifer replied while pointing at a sign that read Labs. They went down the corridor and entered that lab. Desolation covered every inch here as well. But there was something else. Skeletons. Human skeletons. Wearing rotting old lab coats and body armour they covered the floor.
Luke stepped around the skeletons heading to a central computer.
"I hope there is still power." He muttered. As be approached the computer flickered on.
'Unknown user detected. Other life signs found. Other lifesign recorded as subject. Access granted to files. The computer flickered on too a page of files. Images, videos and documents were all listed. Luke sat at the computer and clicked on the first video.
The video started playing and Lucifer recognised a younger him. Same features on a smaller body. Luke looked on in horror as he realised the young Lucifers chest was peeled open and four figures stood over him. The young Lucifer was in clear pain as the figures prodded his insides and injected numerous vials of liquid into his ribs and organs.
The video stopped playing as Lucifer stood shocked.
