Chapter 10: When Jealousy Attacks
"Sofia? As in Sofia Jane Gomez?" Lance asked, surprised too.
Sofia flipped her hair to her back and answered with a wide smile, "Who else?"
'And who the hell are you Sofia?! Lance! You just came back in less than a month but here you are giving me a reason to hate you more?! Explain this Lance! Explain!'
Lisa was already screaming in her mind but her feelings were the exact opposite of her expression. She was so calm and was also smiling to this Sofia whose eyes were glued to Lance. She quickly looked at Lance and got pissed by what she saw.
Lance smiled back to Sofia but he saw the quick glance Lisa gave him in his peripheral view. He smirked because he knew how well Lisa act and she can't fool him with that calmness on her face.
'Whatta flirt!' Lisa ranted in her thoughts. She glanced away and pretended to check her social media accounts on her phone.
"Well, long time no see! Haven't heard anything about you for so long. Are you living here?", Lance continued talking to Sofia.
"I know right! I went to US to take a masteral degree. I just graduated this year. I came here last week and am staying in Cali's house. He's a cousin of mine, by the way." Sofia replied without putting away the smile on her face.
They continued chatting and catching up even when the foods were served. The cafe were very lively with their group in it. Chitchats here and there. The boys are teasing Cali about gifting themselves to him which Cali would never ever decline. Some were discussing about outdoor hangouts.
Lance and Lisa were throwing secret glances to each other while minding their own conversation with other people in the group but never did one of them caught the other taking a look.
Lance was very delighted when he saw Lisa doing a quick eye roll as Sofia laughed at his joke. It gave him more courage to tease Lisa.
'This girl is a jealous queen,' he thought.
The small celebration ended after finishing all the food in the table. A party will be held at Cali's house at night that's why they did not spent the morning that long. They went out of the clubhouse one by one. Lisa, Lance, Sofia and Cali were the last to come out.
"Hey, Lisa and Lance! Don't be absent at the party tonight, okay?" Cali reminded as they stopped outside the clubhouse.
"No worries. How can I not go?" Lisa confirmed.
"Where's your house by the way?" asked Lance.
Before Cali could give the direction, Lisa already answered him. "Oh! He's just three blocks away from our house."
"Our house? You mean.. you live together?" Sofia tried to sound curious but the sadness in her eyes can't escape Lisa's.
"Yes!"
"Not really."
Lance and Lisa answered at the same time that made Cali and Sofia confused.
Looking at the raised eyebrows, Lisa was the first to explain.
"Ahmm.. Both our answers are true. Yes, we live in the same house but we are not really living together. It's like.. ahmmm.. he's renting a room for the time being until the house across ours was built. And as a payment, he's going to wash my clothes today. Right?" Lisa looked at Lance while he just gave a shrug.
"Oh... okay." Sofia felt awkward after hearing that.
"Yeah. We'll be going then. He still needs to wash five baskets of clothes! Toodles!" Lisa then hold Lance's wrist and walked quickly to their house.
As they got inside their villa...
"So where are the clothes I need to wash? I'll start now." Lance asked with a meaningful smile on his face and noticed Lisa's hand still holding his wrist. Lisa noticed it, too. She take away her hands immediately as if she touched a dirt. She glared at him which just made him grin wider.
"Hmpf!"
