Chapter 3: Chapter 3 - My Girlfriend Is Royalty? Well That's Cool!

I was awoken by the sound of hooves on pavement. Looking up towards the sky I felt a throbbing pain in my chest. "Holy crap my chest hurts..." I muttered under my breath. I then noticed that a hooded man on horseback was carrying me to safety.

He didn't say anything to me until we came to a halt in front of Notre Dame Church. "Well son this is as far as I can take you. You're on your own from here on out." He told me after handing me a bottle of red liquid. I sniffed it and it smelt like strawberries and mushrooms.

Interested in what it might taste like on my taste buds I took a sip... And then I guzzled it down fast! I absolutely love strawberries and mushrooms! So of course the Health Potion as it was called was a titillating sensation for me to drink. Plus I felt rejuvenated and chock full of energy.

My wound healed up slightly but most of all the bleeding had stopped. So after I jumped down from the horse I turned around to see that the hooded man had galloped away. As he rode off into the distance I thought to myself, "Did he just call me his son? Was that my father Link, the Hero of Time?"

Regardless I looked up at Notre Dame Church and thought to myself, "Well then since I'm here at Notre Dame Church that means I'm not in Rosedale anymore. I'm in Los Angeles now. And just beyond those doors is the Hylian Gateway linking Earth to Hyrule." I cracked my knuckles and creaked open the door of the church. After walking through the front door my eyes widened.

Behind the alter was a massive stone door with the Triforce insignia at the top. I strolled down the aisle and gazed at the stone door. My left hand started to glow with a golden aura and the door slid open. In the center of the door was a swirling vortex of holy light. However before I could step through the light a voice from behind called out to me.

"Once you step through the Hylian Gateway there's no turning back. Either you carry out your duty as the Hero of Destiny or die by the hands of your enemy. That is how it is for you Brandon Swift." An elderly voice told me. Turning around I saw a robed elderly man with a long white beard and bald head standing before me. I folded my arms and asked, "And who might you be old fart?"

Stroking his beard the elder replied, "Mind your manners you young little whippersnapper! It is I, the great elder Sahasrahla! I have ever right to smack you across the face for disrespecting me!" I chuckled and replied, "Sorry about that Elder Sahasrahla. I'm just on edge knowing that my best friend is now my enemy."

Sahasrahla chortled and clanked his wooden staff on the floor. He then told me, "I know my dear boy. I know many things. Like a certain special someone in your life is the child of a Triforce Bearer. In fact you're going to be meeting up with her very soon."

I gasped and asked, "Samantha Rose?! She's involved?!" Sahasrahla nodded his head and told me, "Oh yes indeed my dear boy. Now if you have the resolve to go through the Hylian Gateway I won't stop you. Just be prepared for just about anything." I nodded my head and bolted through the Hylian Gateway.

When I emerged from the Hylian Gateway on the other side I was inside a large temple. Right in front of me inside a pedestal was a blue handled sword. Its handle was two feet long and its blade was five feet long. It was forged from a heavenly silver metal and radiated with a silver aura. I gasped and said to myself, "No way! This is the legendary blade of evil's bane! The Master Sword is standing right here in front of me!"

That's when I heard the voice of Sahasrahla say to me, "Can you hear me my dear boy? If you can then that means you're in Hyrule at this very moment." I crossed my arms and thought to myself, "What in the world? Can everyone talk to me through telepathy?" With a chuckle Sahasrahla replied, "Well for right now I'm guarding the Hylian Gateway here on Earth. Once everything is over with I'll go see you in Hyrule. Oh yeah and before you go tell me your name my dear boy."

I nodded my head and said, "The name is Brandon Swift. You would do best to get it memorized." He chuckled again and told me, "I most certainly will Brandon. Now get going! Queen Zelda and her daughter are waiting for you at Hyrule Castle." The telepathy link broke and I walked away from the Master Sword.

I gazed back at the legendary blade of evil's bane. I could feel the almighty light radiating from it and man was it strong! So strong that the double doors leading to the Master Sword closed on their own. Afterwards I walked out of the Temple of Time. How did I know that it really was the Temple of Time? Well the Master Sword was inside and that's understandable enough for it to be the Temple of Time.

Anyways I wandered around Hyrule Castle Town looking for the entrance to the castle. I finally found it after an hour of searching. Of course of all the times to be stopped it was by a snooty guard. He told me, "Unless you have an audience with the queen you should move along! Go on and get out of here you brat!" All I did was quietly showed him the Triforce of Courage insignia on the back of my left hand. That shut him up and allowed me to carry on.

There was a large garden of roses leading up to the front entrance to Hyrule Castle. After meandering through the rose garden for an hour I walked into the castle. Once inside though I'm just standing there with my mouth ajar. If you thought Princess Diana had a castle then you have got to see Queen Zelda's castle. Words can't describe how much blood, sweat and tears went into building it. All I could say was, "Holy crap this is awesome!"

So I'm walking down this long ass corridor when I came upon a set of large marble double doors. Pushing them open with all my might I walked into the room and that's when my heart nearly stopped. Sitting on a throne next to a woman with golden blonde hair, was dressed in a violet and white gown with a golden crown was my childhood sweetheart Samantha Rose.

She had long brunette hair and hazel green eyes. She was wearing a gold tiara, a purple and white dress, white stockings and was bare footed. Walking up to her I damn near broke down in tears. "Samantha is that really you?" I asked her as I sniffled and wiped away tears from my face. With a smile and giggle she replied, "It's been too long my love. It's been three years since we last seen each other. But I moved away for a good reason."

I stopped myself from crying long enough to say, "Well if it's true that you're the daughter of Queen Zelda I understand. You fled from Earth to escape from Steven Cerberus, the son of Ganondorf. That's a good enough reason to move away if you ask me. I just can't believe that you're royalty Samantha. That's actually pretty cool."

Princess Samantha giggled and blushed. She then replied, "Yeah it was quite a bit of a shock to me when I learned that Queen Zelda was my mother. But that's not to say that my life has been all easy peasy lemon squeezey. Ever since I came to Hyrule Castle, or Hyrule in general, the evil creatures of the land have been attacking me at every waking moment. I am very excited to see you again and hopefully you'll be my hero Brandon."

I clenched my necklace in my hand and told Queen Zelda, "Only if you wish for me to do so Your Majesty. Just say the word and I'll follow your every command." She nodded her head and told me, "Well then I suppose that it would be okay with me since you two have known each other since you were babies. As a matter of fact I would like to speak with you privately Brandon Swift. Follow me please."

Queen Zelda rose up from her throne and walked out of the room. Before I followed after her Princess Samantha told me, "Please be careful Brandon my love. I know you have the divine protection of Farore. However that doesn't mean that you should be reckless." That's when my necklace began to glow with a green aura and Farore's voice replied, "You have my word when I say this Princess Samantha. With all my might I shall protect your dearly beloved Brandon."

I let out a sigh and smiled a toothy grin. I then told Princess Samantha, "Oh trust me honey! I'll be sure to avoid any unnecessary behavior that will get me killed. Now then if you'll excuse me I need to speak with your mother. Bye for now Princess Samantha! I love you with all my heart!" After I hugged and kissed her lovingly on the lips I walked out of the throne room.
