Chapter 2: Life is more scary than death
All is dark, I wonder if I am dreaming but this feels realistic, I pinch myself to make sure.Yep. This is real but why am I in darkness, is someone playing a prank on me. I am starting to freak out. No. That is illogical I try to calm myself down by focusing on what I can hear, its a trick my dad taught me whenever I was afraid. Wait a minute that is odd. I can not hear the engine of the car. I focus more, "Beep beep beep beep" Now that is even more odd. Never mind dad's calming down trick I am getting really scared. The thing is beeping more rapidly now, "Beep beep beep beep" I can hear footsteps and voices but I cannot focus on what they are saying. Suddenly the door bursts open and about five people walk in I think, all talking but to me all I can hear is sounds.
"Elizabeth. Elizabeth Jones" I hear my name being said so I say
"That's me, where am I?"
"Oh you are awake that is great" I hear one say which is strange, mum would have woken me up right? Nobody answers my question and I can hear lots of shuffling
"Am I dead?" I ask, I know its a stupid question but right now I honestly can't think of anything else.
"Can someone tell her what is going on."I hear an authoritative voice demanding followed by lots of footsteps, it seem as everyone is gone.
"Hello?" I say to try and see if anyone is still with me
"Hey there Elizabeth I am Dr Penbrook and I am here to explain everything and to answer any questions."
"You are scaring me, nothing bad has happened, right?"
"Well, it is easiest if I explain from the start."
