Chapter 3: 4.The Trial by Fire
It was a custom that every child in Azure dragon continent was to receive a baptism when they reach the age of twelve, although only the rich had the ability to do so. Kimley as the grandson of the ruler of the continent didn't need to worry about that. He was given unto him the best resources and his diligence packed with his heaven defying talents allowed him to stand on top of his generation, nobody in the same realm could hold a candle against him.
Year 1567 of the Azure Dragon continent, denizens of the continent were stacked inside an arena. The Emperor Ley had decided to host a competition in honor of his grandson's baptism.
"I heard the rewards will be amazing for those who participate." Voices could be heard through the crowd.
A large booming voice was heard, "we welcome the arrival of his Majesty."
He descended from the sky only immortal emperors had the power of flight. His decent was accompanied by a heavy pressure that caused all underneath him to kneel, although he was not actively doing anything.
His presence alone caused fear and awe to grow in the heart of others.
"Today we have the honor to host a trial by fire for all those below the age of fifteen."
"All participants will enter the Divine Splitter pagoda and they will be ranked according to the highest floor they attain." He said
The Divine Splitter pagoda had thirteen levels, it had existed even before the founding of the Ley empire rumor had it that the emperor had reached the twelfth floor when he was young. Although no one had entered the thirteenth floor some even speculated that it didn't exist.
"Geniuses from all over the continent step up and enter the tower, your fate lays in your hands."
