Chapter 3: The Boy

They left without looking back, she cried as he swore they will be back one day. But for now, they will start their quest to kill their own brother. It was going to be a challenge, they thought grimly. As their name was smeared in dirt and blood, cursed to be the devil. They need followers more than ever now, their brother God was now more powerful. It made his skin crawl, their eldest brother should have been here, not him. He was the god of thunder, not the god of Justice. There should have been more than two Gods.

She stayed silent as Raiden remembered his siblings. How strange, one life she was fully against this God and now she couldn't help but pity him. He wasn't the terrible bloodthirsty God the story painted him as. Okay, that was a lie, but it was because his brother killed their siblings because he wanted power. It didn't make anything he did or would've done any better. He did terrible things in his quest of revenging his siblings and followers. Confused on how she should comfort him, she backed up and left the two by themselves.

They also stayed silent, not because they didn't know what to say but they had noticed something. They could hear both of them all the time, but they can't hear them. It was odd, very odd but they decided to leave it alone for now. They see no reason to tell them, this experience was already invasive as it is. They thought about the other god, Ying. They wondered if they were like them with three people in the same body. Or would it be considered spilt personalities and this was a effect of being traumatized by remembering dying two times. They decided to ponder on that matter, letting him take full control.

Raiden felt quite surprised when suddenly they tripped as he was handed complete control. He will never admit that he trip on a tiny peddle that he wasn't even sure was a pebble. He straightened the body up as he continued with his head high. Looking around, he tried to remember anything about this path and compare it to the present one. But everything was different, that big stump was once a average tree. That path going off to the left was barely a trail, he knows it leads to a river. They should have passed a clearing but that was taken over by wildlife once again.

He hadn't seen any mortals yet. No longer is there a need to come here, a traitorous thought pointed out. He twitched when he felt something brushed against him comforting. It was the female mortal, no doubt. The other one was somehow worse than him when it comes to knowing what to do with emotions.

He paused when he heard screaming and yelling, he snapped his head towards it when he heard his name. In a prayer. Someone was praying to him, asking for help, not murder. He ran. He kept going, knowing that someone was asking for his help. It was his duty to help-a kid! She cried with horror, causing him to stumble. He ran faster as she joined him, her magic powering the body. She urged him on, the sound of threats becoming clearer and she paused before they took control from him. Their joint power making them flying through the trees.

A lightning blade cut through the biggest man like butter. Spinning they dodged the messy attack. They weaved between the slavers, blood cutting through the air like a beautiful rage filled dance. He grinned as Yang killed one after the other with no hesitation. Knowing that she was useless, she tried to block this out and tried to use Raiden's connection to his follower to check up on him. Unfortunately it seems like he stopped praying. So she could only try to ignore the screams and bloody scene that was happening.

When Raiden realized that the boy was looking at him, he pulled back and let Yang take full control. Who quickly shoved it to Harmony without a word. She looked at the boy with a bit of wonder. "I am-" Names after names flew through her mind, "I am Yami, a servant of the Great God, Yang. We hear you, little boy."

He felt like sticking his head in the ground as she continued to praise themselves. How embarrassing, he should just smite them all to save them from this mess. She ignored him easily as she got into her acting. Slowly building up a story and background for themselves. "Our God answered your call, now tell me. What do you wish for, my brother?"

"...A home," he whispered. She choked silently, her plans of getting revenge for him failing before it could begin. She had thought that he would have been angry, ready to be blinded by vengeance and hate for the slavers.

'A broke boy, looking for peace, not everyone is willing to fight.' They whispered, taking over as they kneeled, a hand out with a smile. "A home? I can't give you one, home is where you make it. If you are willing, I will help you built a house."

'Why waste time with something like this? We should leave him, we must kill that faker.'

'We are weak. Our only followers are fake, useless. They just want to destroy things and kill. They don't worship us. We must give to receive. You know this.' Harmony told him, watching the boy curiously. It was a beastman, a race looked down upon for being weak and rowdy. A so called lawless people. 'Yang, they know what to do.'

'No,' they spoke up as they grabbed the hand of the little boy. 'Not Yang. That is us. I am Yami. Yami is my name.' The other two said nothing, if they wanted their own name, it didn't matter.
