Chapter 5: Ch 4: Jr Researcher
It's been half a month since I finished school and was tested to be an aura user.
I didn't want to do anything but spend my time playing pranks, I have seven years to play and plan what to do before I became a trainer. On the other hand, my parents wouldn't let me do as I please, they couldn't let me a problem child be free or I would cause trouble by playing my pranks.
My dad knows I'm a genius so he takes me into his lab to do research. He had me read books, write reports, and look over data. He didn't let me near the pokemon thinking I would do something like pulling their tails or have them help me pull pranks.
He was right to do that, one day I had my moms Meowth to steal some poke food from my dads Muk and give it to another of his pokemon Drowzee. Once my dads Muk found his food with Drowzee it started a fight. I got 1,500 SP from there fight and was grounded for a week.
I'm now in my dad's research room from 6 AM to 3 PM helping him in his research. My dad is researching Pokemon Eggs, he wants to find the best way to take care of an egg before it hatches. On his research notes it's said that if a Poke Egg is well-taken care for when it hatches the Pokemon will be healthier then one that wasn't. So far he found a lot of eggs and made new types of incubators for them. It's my job to check the data collected on them and watch over the eggs. This is part one of his research and the only part I'm involved in because of park two involving Pokemon.
I can't really do anything, after all, I'm looking after eggs so I started to play with my auras and research them. I'm not really researching them my system is doing that I'm just reading what it tells me.
[Ice Aura] - People who have this aura give off a cold, distance and/or indifferent feeling around them. It also gives the users an affinity for Ice-type Pokemon and if trained you can use Ice-type moves.
[Ghost Aura] - People who have this aura give off a creepy, gloomy and/or scary feeling around them. It also gives the users an affinity for Ghost-type Pokemon and if trained you can use Ghost-type moves.
[Dragon Aura] - People who have this aura give off a proud, arrogant and/or disdainful feeling around them. It also gives the users an affinity for Dragon-type Pokemon and if trained you can use Dragon-type moves.
[Fairy Aura] - People who have this aura give off a joyful, kind and/or friendly feeling around them. It also gives the users an affinity for Fairy-type Pokemon and if trained you can use Fairy-type moves.
What kind of feeling am I giving off, I have more than one aura.
*Beep* (Host is giving off no aura as you are not actively using one.) *Beep*
~2 Months Later~
It's been two months senses I been helping my dad in his research. He's been making great progress on stage one and two of his testing and is almost finish with his research. It seems I was the main cause of this because when I was playing with my auras near the eggs it had helped them grow someway and my dad had new and profound ideas after he found out about it. With his new ideas, he kept on improving his egg incubators with the help of my auras. He also kept telling me that he just needs a little more time and he will publish his finding.
It seems my dad wasn't lying about almost being done because just the other day he finally finished his last test. He had a party with his lad assistants and I was there as well. It wasn't fun as a nine-year-old and everyone there was over twenty I really can't talk to them about stuff kids and they are boring researchers.
The next week after my dad fished his research he said an old man from Pokemon Researcher Association (P.R.A.) was coming over to see his finding to give his approval so my dad can publish his findings.
If anyone wants to publish their findings they need the P.R.A. for approval so they send someone to my dad lab. This is done so to stop false research to be published.
The old man they sent was Mister Pokemon himself, Professor Oak. I was surprised he was in this universe but it seems no Pokemon universe isn't complete without him.
Professor Oak in this world was the head and founder of the P.R.A. but now is a regular researcher who helps them out once and a while.
Professor Oak was near here doing his own research so he was sent over to see my dads work. To him, it didn't seem to be a bad idea to come and he always wanted to visit Alto Mare so he came over to evaluate my dad's research.
I was allowed to be in the meeting after begging my dad but I had to promise not to do anything. He wasn't surprised that I wanted to meet him as he is a big name in the world of Pokemon Research and most of the books I read are written by him.
Oak: "This work is pretty amazing. I have to hand it to you using specially made egg incubators and aura to help the Pokemon that hatch from the eggs to be healthier and stronger is brilliant. It seems aura can help unborn pokemon to grow stronger before they hatch and along with the new incubators said Pokemon will be born healthy. How did you think up such an idea?"
Dad: "I didn't really think of it at first. It was found out after my son here was playing with his aura near the eggs.
Once those eggs hatch my team and I notice a difference in some Pokemon that weren't found in others. When looking back at the data it didn't make sense until I remember that my son was taking care of them.
I ask him if he did anything to them or did anything in general around them. He told me he was playing with the auras he just awakens near the eggs.
So after finding out what he did we change our direction to involve aura with our original ideas."
Oak: "Oh, so your son is an aura user. Is an Aura Guardian teaching him?"
Dad: "No, he's just leaking out his aura now. That alone was enough to get the desired results we were looking for.
I would like to start a new cycle of testing with an Aura Guardian but they are hard to contact so I made do with my son method.
My team and I did theorize what will happen if an Aura Guardian helps and wrote it down in my research papers but we can't say anything conclusive about it unless we test it out."
Oak: "Hmm, I will say this your research is fine to publish as it is now. I also would like to see the results with an Aura Guardian help but we can't do anything about it. This research will help how people raise and view eggs. I wouldn't be surprised if you get awarded from this work."
Dad: "Really, thank you for your praise."
Oak: "Don't mention it, I'm just speaking my mind. Also after reading your work, it gave me ideas on my future research as well. Oh yeah, can I stay in your lab for a month or so?"
Dad: "Sure but may I ask why?"
Oak: "Well you see I'm in Johto to see some Pokemon and there flying patterns. I saw the Pokemon I was researching over here so I thought why not stay here as a little vacation while I research the flying Pokemon."
After there talk Oak stayed over and I got to talk to him whenever he was in my dad's lab. He was like a grampa who loved children, he played along with me by playing games of jeopardy, he gave me candy whenever I an answer a question right.
To get a lot of candy I study whenever I can.
It didn't take long until Oak left but before he left he gave me the title of [Jr Researcher]. He wanted to give me the [Researcher] title but couldn't because of my age and being inexperienced.
It turns out I passed the test to be a researcher when Oak wanted to give me a hard game of jeopardy, which I passed with flying colors. My parents were happy when they found out that I was a jr researcher. My Dad even started to brag about it to his friends whenever he could.
