Chapter 28: His Majesty, The Demon Prince | The Hero's are in need of some new equipment -Chapter Y.3-

One might expect being an heir to the position of Demon Lord would be a stressful one, but I can't help but think otherwise. In fact, I simply cannot wait to rule, No... I truly cannot wait. If my plans succeed, three weeks from now, I will hold the highest position in all of Halega, the Demon Lord!

Ah, I've gotten ahead of myself. I am Wulfnol Halega, Heir to the throne, and the rightful ruler of Halega. Oh, it's a pleasure to meet you, as I hope it is for you.

I, as the Demon Prince, owe great gratitude to my Father, he is the one who raised me, after all. But... he's truly gone senile after all of these years of ruling. Instead of waging wars, taking the land that is rightfully our... He signs peace treaties! Peace treaty after peace treaty. Not one nation is hostile to us, and neither are we! This damn peace will make our kin soft, not ready for the gruesome reality that is this world! This arrogance that my Father shows, it annoys me to no end... I accidentally break the teacup I was holding out of my anger.

Oh, my dearest apologies, it seems I've worked myself up... What a waste of a perfectly good cup. I call a servent over, they clean the mess up.

Ah, my apologies once again, I've gotten off track. What was it I was talking about, again? Oh, but of course, the usurpation of the throne. With my clever planning, I already have over 65% of the population of Halega on my side, and my father is completely unaware. In fact, I already have Knights readying for battle. Funny, truly it is. It's is exceptionally funny how ignorant my father has become.

Hm... Though I must say, I do believe that that worthless king of Draila has realized, that, and a few other people in that damned place. I noticed some spies of sorts, but why exactly should I care? I say, let them prepare. Even if they summon heroes, I'll kill them all the same as any other pawns.

Hm, you say I'm being overconfident? No... True, I am confident all of my plots and plans will come to fruition, but I know they will as a fact. Is being aware of the truth arrogance? No, I didn't think so.

Hmph, I've grown tired of this useless chatter.

"I'm departing, do not alert my father of my absence," I speak to the servent watching over me, activating spatial magic to leave.

...

I reappeared in front of a gate, the gate of a dungeon. Something interesting about these things, it is impossible to teleport into a dungeon, you'll be rejected, redirecting the spell to the outside of the dungeon before the spell can even fully activate.

I open the large entrance, entering. I believe this dungeon is rated S-rank by current standards, weak, but even so, it's a good opportunity for me to blow off some steam.

I'm greeted by a Selkinailt, a higher ranking undead beast, ranked A, if I remember correctly. How kind, someone to greet me and everything.

I activate a fire spell, a spear of fire piercing the beast, the fire spreading to the entire body of the beast, roasting it fully. Ah... And that was but a low-rank fire spear spell, I didn't expect much, but for it to be this weak...

Soon, the entire world will bear witness to my great power... Oh, how I can't wait.

------------------------

"Hm..." I count the money made by the last quest, squinting, "Two gold, twenty-seven silver, and five copper, huh... That should be enough for some new armour and weapons, right guys?"

"Wh-- Yeah! But maybe help us? We're being attacked by a goblin clan, get your head out of the clouds!" Akane spoke, reminding me of our current situation.

She cast a wind spell, decapitating two of the goblins, while Togeshi simply smashed one goblin after another with his gauntlets, impressive how much brute strength he has now, but even back on Earth, he was incredibly bulky.

"Yes, I'm aware, but can't you two handle it alone? I'm currently trying to assess our funds." I responded, continuing to count our current funds.

"There's like two hundred here! We're totally outnumbered, and your help would really be appreciated." Akane continued, still partly focussed on attacking.

"Nah! We don't need it! I'll beat every single one of these little freaks!" Togeshi spoke, slaying another one.

Hearing him say that, maybe they do need a bit of help... I stick our funds in a pouch, standing up. I drew my sword, buffing myself with a skill. Guess it's time to fight once again...

...

Luckily, we managed to deal with each and every single one of the goblins. Some did try to flee, but Togeshi made sure that didn't happen. There were a few Goblin Mages among them, so I'm currently making sure to gather their Mana cores, they sell for a good bit, after all.

"Ah, like I was saying earlier, I think we should definitely get some better gear right about now, most of our stuff is either broken or too weak for our current selves, you know. We're all over level forty now, after all." I returned to the earlier topic.

"Oh! Yeah, yeah! My gauntlets are getting super worn out! Feels like one more hit and they'll shatter like glass." Togeshi exclaimed, excited as usual.

"Hah... Yeah, I guess. My staff broke during the fight with the goblins, so getting a new one is definitely necessary at this point." Akane agreed, and coincidently my sword had recently chipped.

"Great, we should head back to Quendest, then."
