Chapter 7: Welcome On Board, Director Ni!*
On seeing who walked into his office, Zheng Shanyu rose from his desk and walked over to meet them.
"Chairman Zheng. I heard you were calling for me."
Ni Yuexi gave a slight bow at the handsome man in the expensive suit, who closely watched her with his arms folded across his chest.
"Miss Ni Yuexi, did you not like the dress that was selected for you or was it by chance a brand that you don't like?"
Xun Yanwu glanced at his boss before turning to look at the woman that stood beside him.
"What is Chairman Zheng up to this time? She doesn't want anything from you! Chairman Zheng is acting stranger and stranger by the day!"
None of what ran through the mind of the personal assistant reflected in his eyes.
"I don't think it is appropriate to be accepting gifts from Chairman Zheng. People talk a lot, especially in corporate settings like this. I don't want to be branded as your woman. If you were unhappy by this, I am truly sorry, but I really can't accept what you bought!"
Zheng Shanyu's eyes took on a thoughtful look, while those of Ni Yuexi had thinly concealed exasperation in them. A moment passed before the Chairman of Ziaomi spoke again.
"Very well Miss Ni Yuexi, how about this? What do you think of Ziaomi having an ethics department?"
Both Xun Yanwu and Ni Yuexi looked from one to the other, puzzled at what they heard, not knowing what to make of what the Chairman of Ziaomi said to them.
"Huh?"
A secretive smile briefly covered the lips of Zheng Shanyu as he watched the pretty woman in front of him get startled at what he said, in one smooth motion, the Chairman of Ziaomi revealed the part that was left unsaid to her with a deadpan look.
"Welcome on Board, Director Ni!"
"What?!!!!!!!"
