Chapter 4: Sea salt (4)
MARIA'S POV
I clapped my hands together and brightly said as my lips curved into a smile, "The end!"
Lucas gasped, "Woah! Did that really happen."
I gifted him another of my famous smile and said, "Nah! I'm just messing with you!"
I'd tuck a strand of hair behind my ear, as Lucas said: "Than how did dad die?"
I'd mess with his jet black hair, and said softly, "He died of.."
"Of???"
I gave a small laugh "The flu. We didn't find a healer in time."
Lucas nodded before tucking himself back in.
I felt myself get whacked with a soft pillow, I'd mumble "What is it, Lucas?"
"B R E A K F A S T! Breakfast!"
I peeked underneath the covers, "give me two minutes."
I waited until I heard Lucas exit the room and Cliffside the door before slipping into a green tunic and black trousers than quickly braiding my hair to the side.
I stomped downstairs to be welcomed by the most heavenly smell,...Pancakes. I paused before rushing into the dining room, I sat down at my usual seat before my mom softly put down a stack of steaming hot pancakes I grabbed the warm maple syrup, but not before saying "Thank you mom!"
Than a drenched the pancakes in the syrup and stuffing my face, "H-Hey, Maria?"
I turned my head to look at Lucas "Do you think you can Swipe a cookie for me today?"
I'd give a quick smile before turning all of my attention to the pancakes.I finished after a few disappointed looks from my mother watching me try to stuff a whole pancake into my mouth. I gave her a thumbs up though" I then went to the living room and strapped on my boots, not before putting on a cloak for warmth. I shouted, "I'm going for a ride!"
Then I ran out before I could get a response, I ran to the stable to get my horse Adriana, I strapped on her saddle than hopped on, guiding her to the fields.
I walked into the bakery and kept my head down looking at the cookie choices mumbling "Triple Chocolate, Chocolate chip, ginger bread, Ew Oatmeal." I than spotted it, "Sea salt Carmel. "
I was nearly drooling, but I than quickly swiped two cookies from the tray, hoping to be unnoticed but hearts a shout, "Its you again!"
the thin woman shouted, I bolted out of the bakery as on to my horse and yelled, "Adios!"
as a raced to the fields taking a short cut, I slowed down looking behind me, then smiled noticing the woman was no longer chasing me, I than heard the bell- Wait, the bell?
