Chapter 14: Demon Race and the Sacrifice
How can she, still a little girl can feel what these untouchable experts did? Lei Mu herself cannot explain it as well. Maybe because deep inside she knew she is one who has a potential? Among her peers, she's already many steps ahead. Although she is one of the weakest among the chosen youngsters that came from different branches, she is also the youngest!

Behind the tree where Lei Mu was seated in a meditative position, Patriarch Lei became silent for a brief moment. The decision he was pondering over wasn't small. The people he brought consisted the future generations of his clan. Although it may looked far but someday, many of these children will be the supporting pillars of the whole clan! How can she take this lightly?! However, if he were to retreat. they may miss the chance of witnessing what was inside the Sacrifice. His power may be needed in an undetermined battle ahead.
Emperor Sheng Ju Long and the others patiently waited for Patriarch Lei's careful thinking. They knew that Patriarch Yun rarely speak and participate in such conversations, he only makes it up from his strength. However, this doesn't mean Patriarch Yun isn't bright. It was just that he trusts Patriarch Lei and whatever Patriarch Lei's decision will be.
After pondering for a while, Patriarch Lei's eyes shone s it looked towards Emperor Sheng Ju Long. Before he answered, hesitation stopped his mouth but eventually, "We will continue and follow."
This simple reply meant a lot but Emperor Sheng Ju Long didn't mind. When Patriarch Lei said "follow", it meant Emperor Sheng Ju Long were to take the lead and at the same time be responsible. If something unwanted happened, then Patriarch Lei and Patriarch Yung expect Emperor Sheng Ju Long to compensate them.
Not just Emperor Sheng Ju Long but even Emperor Wang Song nodded in agreement, 'If this side will gain more power then even I am obligated not to let this future be wasted.', he thought.
"Good, good! We definitely need you and Patriarch Yun!", Emperor Sheng Ju Long clapped his hands, excited to go there and see what lies behind the strange phenomenon, "The way the energy fluctuates from the Sacrifice is just too unnatural to ignore now."
"It's just like..."
"Like the energy of a demon.", Emperor Wang Song slowly said.
Hearing this, Patriarch Lei couldn't help but look at Patriarch Yun and verify something.
"You think that this has something to do with the silence of the Eastern Continent, or more specifically, the Demon Race?", Patriarch Lei started to peel the surface, "Your true objective is to look at this strange phenomenon with the intention of relating it to the Eastern Continent.", he said it not with a questioning tone as if he was sure that he was right.
"Hayzz, ", Emperor Sheng Ju Long faked a sighed, "Why do you say it as if we were trying to hide it?"
Before Patriarch Lei could say anything back, Emperor Sheng Ju Long had a sudden change in expression which solemn, "Don't you think it's strange? The abrupt silence is more troublesome than not.", he wanted to say scarier but pride halted him, "It is unknown what is going inside the Eastern Continent right now. The news about sending support successfully was only to appease the people concerned.", Emperor Sheng Ju Long clicked his tongue, seemingly feeling bitter about it, "I know that it is not good to lie to my people but will I just throw them chaos?"
Only silence replied to Emperor Sheng Ju Long but everyone thought about even how proud this Ruler is, he's definitely not a bad person.
After being silent and in thought for a while, Emperor Sheng Ju Long continued, "Not a single information about the Eastern Continent did I receive and the reason why is also unknown! It felt like the Demon Race was not in the dark but we are! Much like the Sacrifice..."
Everyone at that moment was intrigued, even Emperor Wang Song was slightly surprised but after considering it for a while, they naturally accepted it. Of course the Emperor of this continent wants to know about his continent! Why wouldn't he?! It is more surprising to think that the Emperor completely ignored it even if chaotic times are present. However, this also explained why there is no news about it. It felt like dropping a ball in the bottomless pit and expecting it to bounce back.
If no news came back, why would Emperor Sheng Ju Long report this shame to others? He is still a proud man. If others knew his failure even though it wasn't completely his fault, he couldn't keep his face up. Maybe frustration opened him up this time and the only people listening to him are the ones who had the same standing as him. At least, if they try to mock him, he will only take it as a joke. But if people below him was to talk behind his back... just the thought of it was unbearable!
Lei Mu took a cold breath, little by little, this expedition she saw as a test needed to enter the main branch become bigger and bigger by the moment.
At this moment, Emperor Sheng Ju Long narrowed his eyes as he looked at the tree adjacent to the group. The person meditating behind that seemed to wake up from meditation. Emperor Sheng Ju Long was instantly relieved, he thought he was careless and forgot about that person behind the tree. However, this person's energy was just too calm and made him sure this person was meditating.
