Chapter 19: Blood, Blessings, and the Link
"Now this is exciting!", Emperor Sheng Ju Long shouted. In front of the legendary Powerhouses was an unknown being that produces abstract energy that made them thought about the demon.
The ground began to break, shatter, and turn into fragments, yet, this doesn't affect any of the seven while the earthquake worsened overtime. The unknown creature stared at them, eyes filled with unextinguishable anger. However, it knew it couldn't move from its spot. It could only stay there and protect the treasure on top. As long as nobody dares to move, it won't turn aggressive.
Which, Emperor Sheng Ju Long was dissatisfied with. His fiery eyes turned to the other six, signaling them. As experts in their own way, they already knew what positions they had to take.
Although their team is not perfect, it was enough to the point of unbreakable.
The three Sages stayed at the back and using their Heavenly Blessings, it gave buffs to both the Emperors and Patriarch.
The four of them jumped at the same time while the three Sages stayed behind, ready to give aid when in need.
The sunlight was reflected as it lustered below the sky, the [Ruler's Crown], these crown enveloped both Emperor's head with golden light before appearing. Both Emperors were filled with power overflow as they flew towards the being with a battleax and sword appearing in their hands.
The two Patriarchs that were left behind, slowed down while they chanted their own "testing the water" skills.
In front of them, the pair of Emperors dauntlessly rushed forward.
Screech!!!* the being screeched when it discovered that these few pathetic people were looking for a fight. Before the two got near it, it raised its arm and swung it hard enough to make a great disturbance to the air and fast enough to reach the pair of Emperors before their own attacks.
This made the seven Powerhouses drop their jaw for a split second! Looking at the size of that thing, how can it move so lightly and agile?! Maybe its weight is insignificant?
However, it proved them wrong as the weapons of the Emperors parried the attack of that being! It was actually dumb of them to catch that attack!
'This! This is not light at all!', Emperor Wang Song made a bitter expression as he held his battleax with the support of his whole body before giving in and taking the attack to the point of involuntarily flying back to the woods with a bang! Even Emperor Sheng Ju Long met the same fate.
At that time, the Patriarch never let their eyes wander off the target as multiple flashes of lightning and the Sky Snake King's glorious return and openly hit the being while being vulnerable after its attacks.
After seeing this, the man with the black hair and eyes barely held its laughter. This is because, after their attacks, it showed that it was all after all futile. It didn't even anger the being!
The multiple flashes of lightning cracked a few pebbles out of its body while the Sky Snake King's chaotic energy made the steam temporarily ceased. On top of all, this was already blessed by the Sages! These attacks were a lot stronger than before but in front of these unknown being, it became irrelevant.
Patriarch Lei almost cursed out loud after witnessing this monster. While Patriarch Yun's expression was almost pitiable.
This time, the man couldn't hold his laughter and laughed out loud, "Wahahahakaka! The heck?! I should have come here before challenging that Superior Being. What a waste, and so much for Powerhouses! Hahahaha!"
However, after he finished his exotic laughter, he was taken back when he saw how calm the five was. The earthquake slowly disappeared and there was he saw the confident faces of these Powerhouses.
"Hey, hey! Two of you were already taken down with one hit.", the man complained as he thought, 'Weirdoes', which he regretted thinking after seeing the two Emperors calmly landing on nearby volcanoes unscathed.
His eyes widened a bit, "Ah"
"What?", it was crystal clear about the difference in strength between the Demon Eater and them but what happened? It made him ponder into this.
'Did I perhaps, underestimated them?', the man looked at the battle with more interest. However, he shouldn't stand and watch any longer, he needed to find the second Soulless Garden as much as possible.
Emperor Sheng Ju Long stretched his shoulder and neck before having a wry smile and laughing out loud, "That was great! We can use our power against that monster, right Wang?"
"Sure", even Emperor Wang Song was easy-going now. Right after he said that, he closed his eyes and raised his left hand as if trying to hold something.
Emperor Sheng Ju Long looked at him patiently, 'It will take him a while finding the [Link] to his continent since this place is very far from there.', before closing his eyes and finding this [Link] instantaneously.
Power that came from every edge of the Western Continent came forth and rushing in as if they were being pulled to one place.
At that time, whether they were a plebian, a commoner, a noble, a knight, a king, or even a sage, a bit of their energy left their body and imploded to one point. This was a bit of a percentage that normal people wouldn't realize disappeared. However, as that bit of energy traveled countless miles in that instant, it accumulated a terrifying amount!
And that terrifying energy filled Emperor Sheng Ju Long vigorously. Right after receiving the Link, Emperor Sheng Ju Long noticed another unknown presence. He stared at the foot of the Sacrifice before deeming it unimportant.
'That fellow seemed passive. Is he only here to observe?', Emperor Sheng Ju Long tried to identify that unknown presence, 'Is he a demon?'
In his head, he laughed, 'He had yet to realize that I already found his presence. Let's let him there for a while. We may make use of him later on.', as he talked to himself.
That unknown man was quite surprised at how that Emperor become stronger by a huge margin in a matter of a moment.
"I can't estimate his strength very well, urghh!", he grunted, "I know a few spells to make myself stronger for a few hundred times...", he bitterly continued, "before."
"But I have no idea what he used right now.", the man scratched his head as he ignored his own thoughts and looked up to the Demon Eater, wondering why it became so still.
The Demon Eater then looked down at Emperor Sheng Ju Long.
Emperor Sheng Ju Long smirked when he realized the being looking at him. Any normal man who felt the gaze of this colossal being that even its torso was enough to reach the sky would faint on the spot and do many embarrassing accidents, however, this man just smirked back and even said, "What? Wary of me now?"
After mocking the colossal being, Emperor Sheng Ju Long noticed the fire rising from the colossal being's thin waist. From its looks, it is obvious that it was charging an attack.
From this, the Emperor became desperate. The thing that the being was charging was an attack that created a fire pillar like before!
And Emperor Sheng Ju Long doubt that he would leave unscathed after receiving that kind of attack.
'So it did become wary of me!', for the first time in a while, he felt like regretting what he said a few moments ago. Now, that monster wants to eradicate him as soon as possible!
"CHANGE OF PACE!!", Emperor Sheng Ju Long shouted as he jumped without waiting for Emperor Wang Song.
When they heard this, both the Patriarchs and the Sages had a change of expression. What they did earlier was just testing the water. How could that be what they can only do?
Although both the Patriarchs already wasted a partial amount of energy after releasing Patriarch Lei's [Fourth Offense, Empowered: Consecutive Lightning Sword] and Patriarch Yun's [Sky Snake's Acrimony: Sky Snake King], they can still regain it back using their special bloodline after some time which is already faster than the others. But the problem lies that they don't have this "some time". Therefore, the solution must be to make their energy replenishment faster.
Patriarch Lei bathed in a flashing azure light. While in a cacoon of light, the nearby ground that was already disordered grumbled as random lightning flashes destroyed them. His long white hair fluttered as a translucent wolf ear coalesced on top of it from the azure light.
This happened all over his body: furry tail, sharp fangs behind his lips, and sharp claws on his fingers. All of them coalesced from the flashing azure light that enveloped Patriarch Lei.
"Bloodform", Patriarch Lei whispered as his energy reached its peak!
Besides him, Patriarch Yun had translucent white scales covering him with poisonous fangs behind his lips and a pure lustering red eyes which he closed right after.
At that time, the heavens appeared to open for them as a light shone brightly even though everywhere, the sky was clear.
However, this was for the Sages behind who, instead of using one own's blessing to support others, directly took the Heavens Blessing for themselves and transported it further. The difference could be seen by the naked eye.
As of now, these people were ready for a large scale attack.
Sensing these, the fire that was slowly rising from the being stomach stopped as it began to move.
Emperor Sheng Ju Long was delighted to see this. It all fell down to his expectation. He hypothesized that the being was pumping the dormant magma underneath the Sacrifice itself. In the meantime, it will become lethargic. It must've have been pumping a lot of dense magma to make it so much concentrated that when it blasts that fire, it will definitely create the pillar of fire from before!
"So its first fire blast must've used the latent magma inside the Sacrifice earlier", Emperor Sheng Ju Long concluded, "If that is true, then this will be a very easy fight!", he shouted while at the same time, he felt disappointed.
Emperor Sheng Ju Long repeated what he had done earlier, he rushed in. He knew that this move caused him to fly away more than a kilometer away, yet, he still did it.
Once again, as if the whole scenario was reenacted, the being swung his thin but heavy left arm around at an incredible speed and reached Emperor Sheng Ju Long before he could enter that made wooshing sound created by the disrupted wind.
Bang!* the sound of the metal clashing against a dense rock reverberated loudly throughout and the sound of the dense rock breaking into pieces made Emperor Sheng Ju Long crack a huge smile upon his wrinkled face.
The Demon Eater's left arm was pushed by the strong recoil and cracked a few lines around his forearm that revealed the fiery violent flame inside as steam came rushing out.
The Ruler's Crown dimmed for a blink of a moment after the clash but retrieved its brightness as fast as when it lost it.
And this time, Emperor Sheng Ju Long did not move from his spot. He gained a huge advantage at the second clash!
It must be noted that the first clash, both him and Emperor Wang Song was sent flying but now, him alone could parry the colossal's massive attack.
However, Emperor Sheng Ju Long surprisingly did not rush forward but retreated a few meters back with a smug look before a huge bolt of violet lightning connected to the colossal being's chest that pushed the being back.
"Fourth Offense, Empowered: Consecutive Lightning Sword", Patriarch Lei whispered as he casually thrust his sword once and multiple branches of branches bolts of violet lightning came raining into the being's body in an instant. Each and every connected lightning made a loud banging sound and fragments of dense black rocks was created by the ear-splitting explosions.
Arrghhhh!!!* the defenseless being roared loudly.
As the devastating bolts of lightning diminished as Patriarch Lei's energy got fully exhausted as well.
However, Patriarch Yun did not give the being to rest as the Sky Snake King revealed itself again but the chaotic inside of it was worse than before. It simply passed through the being's dense body but holes were already forming. The fiery flame inside of it was also being disintegrated by the chaotic energy as if it was a lethal acid.
"Whaaat??!!!", the man with black hair and black eyes whispered in shock, "Am I that ignorant to not know the capabilities of the heroes of this world?!", his way of speaking greatly changed while a hint of a mocking tone was still included. He knew that it was a one time skill. They already wasted all their energy now but the effects couldn't be easily ignored.
But in the next moment, something that was out of his expectation or that will never cross his mind happened as he heard the man with the white hair said, "Fourth Offense, Empowered: Consecutive Lightning Sword", before thrusting his sword once more.
