Chapter 9: He Must Have Issues
"You know, whatever you decided to do we'll always be there for you. Even my family will go against them. They treat you like their own child." Brittany holds her hand at the same time trying to hold her tears. Lyla was always the strong one among them while she's a crybaby.
"You heard her right Lyla. My family also treat you as their own child. Never forget you have us behind you. With our powers combine, i'm sure we can beat that shameless so-called-family of yours." Alexander sniggered disdainfully whenever he mention that family. He promised to protect her no matter what ever since she escaped and contacted them again after three years. He's thankful she's smart enough to run away but he can see it affected her somehow. In the past she's fearless towards anything. But after that three years, Lyla seem to be scared in the dark and the sight of study room. She will eventually had a break down when she walked into the study room. To what extent did that family used her to the point she can't stand the sight of getting near to the office nor study room. Now they're coming after her, he will pay for what they have done to her for the three years they torture her.
Lyla smiled at them. Glad she still have them at her lowest point in life. It makes her life richer than other people. It's easy to make her happy and that's the easiest part if one ought to know her.
"Okay, enough of that talk. I heard he's in town last month. And i just knew about it if it wasn't for me interrogating that bodyguard of yours. Why didn't you tell me?" Hearing that, Lyla's face turned gloomy.
"The fact he stayed for only 5 hours is not something i want to brag about. I feel like i'm the mistress here while he goes and entertain his real wife. He only comes whenever he feels tired. And goes when he got his battery charge." Lyla sighed deeply. Not noticing both of her best friend reaction that looks stunned.
"You mean you already slept with him?" Brittany turn into her gossip mode.
"Huh? No. Darn it you two. Just because you guys got married and has been doing that every night it doesn't mean that i'm doing the same thing. What i meant was, by looking and hearing me talk he feel re-energized."Alexander snorted while Brittany feels like strangling this brazen person. Who in the world would brag about herself like this? Only Lyla Hart able to do that.
"Are you sure he feels energized listening to you, talking? He must have some issues. Or problem." Alexander shot her down with his words. Lyla just glared at him.
"Exactly. He must have some sort of problem regarding down there. You've been married for one year and only see each other four times. If i were to conclude that, you only see each other for two days adding all the hours he spend his time here. I know he's some sort of tycoon king and whatsoever but he can't be that busy? He's even busier than the president. I mean, i saw how you work. And you can finish a lot of things in a day. Are you sure he's not playing with you? Do you want Alex to investigate him?" Brittany just keep on firing multiple question due to dissatisfaction towards the guy that married her best friend. Lyla wave her hand. She glance towards Jake who's sitting not far from them, drinking. But she knew he can hear their conversation. Might as well she annoyed that person because of him i'm getting all this question.
"It's fine by me. I enjoy living my life as a mistress. But you really can't compare me and him. I'm the genius here so of course i can finish a lot things faster than others. He's just some normal person who's born in a wealthy family with very normal genetic in his body. So, that's out of question. And no. There's no need to investigate about him. I know everything about him. Including him having a fiancee."
Splurttttt. *cough,cough,cough
Brittany and Alexander spit out the drinks after hearing what she said while Jake looks like he suffer the same thing but instead he nearly choke on his drink. Lyla raised her eyebrow at him and smirked.
"Tell your master, just because i don't say anything it doesn't mean i don't know. After all, i'm a genius for no reason." Feeling smug with herself she got up and starts preparing for dinner hour. Leaving all three of them speechless.
To a normal person, most would probably thrash around or making chaos knowing her husband have a fiancee. But unfortunately, meet Lyla Hart a heartless, twisted person who can easily turn other people's world into snake pit with her reaction. Not to mention, a genius what she usually call herself.
That night, at Wright's main mansion, the atmosphere turn heavy. Seated on a single seat sofa is Dylan looking lordly and elegant. On his right side, his father Mr. Wright Jr and his wife Madeline along with Catherine looking dejected. Catherine's parent, Mr. Drew and his wife Amanda sitting on his left side. While his grandparent seated opposite him looking unhappy. After a month he declared he wanted to cancel the engagement with Catherine, only today they manage to gather together because he's been so busy throughout the entire month. He just landed at S city and his parent threatened him to come to Wright's main mansion. He didn't bother about the threat that his father gave. Because he's done everything that needs to be done at this moment. He only wanted this matter to be resolve as soon as possible so he can go to K city and see her. And after hearing Jake's report for today made him determined to leave everything and stay with her. She's been enjoying her life as a mistress too well. It's time to make her remember that she is his wife even they start at the wrong foot. And he too feeling anxious when Jake told him that Lyla knew about his engagement. Here he thought he manage to hide it well but he didn't know his wife well enough. He needed to go back just so he could see her reaction. First, dealing with these ridiculous thing in front of him. What he wants, he will get.
