Chapter 2: Artifact of the Past
Year 20XX is the peak of human greatest time where the technology grows very fast and have an important role to mostly every development possible. Loop fast train, flying submarine, flying cars, underwater city are some of advanced technologies we have. Human finally able to create a device and technology to reconstruct and recreate all of history artifacts as good as new. This technology is well known as trace and rebuild atom.
Trace and rebuild atom is an amazing achievement that used to search and renew lost artifact, temple and many historical tombs. Due to the reconstruction of those artifacts, human lives a golden age of peace and prosperity for many years afterward.

"Gen, be fast! I don't want to miss my chance to see the artifact. we must be the first one to discover it. Hana tell me while grabbing my hand and run.
"Genada Oswald and Hanna Karr? Please show your identity in order to register." As someone with military uniform halt me and Hanna..
"This is our verification." I tell him while passing the letter and identity card to that person. Short after he returned the cards and allow us to enter our plane.
Our journey this time focused in one of the artifact that was recently reconstructed in Java Island, an island of my ancestor. This expedition is fully funded by the International Artifacts Federation to study the site and take back some artifacts that were recently reconstructed.
Three hours is needed in order to go from the base in America to the Java Island with supersonic plane plus one hour travel by car to the artifacts site. As soon as we stepped our foots on the site, we search for every available information and try to find the artifact that is mentioned.
This site is very unique, there are lots of wall relics that portrait battles between human and some beings similar to monsters. Yes, more or less I know that those relics are legends that passed to each generations in my ancestor bloodline. Monsters with similarity to the myth description of my ancestor.
We keep searching the artifacts for a long time while walking until our eyes meet the stone altar. Weird, that altar seems to be untouched at all. There should be some reconstruction team who have found this already, but it seems it is not the case. The altar is as tall as adult's chest should be impossible to not be seen.
The situation grows weirder as we get closer. Above the altars a semi transparent object slowly become visible to my eyes. The object seems like a crystal that glows a pale blue and golden light as if it calls for me to get closer.
"Hanna, can you help me to bring back that object?" as I asked her to bring the object.
"Sure, but why? it is just a normal stone. A peeble stone. Is that even an artifact?" Said Hanna as she brings the stone closer.
"Eh? Seriously?" As I tell myself. Hanna just said that it is a normal stone, but why it glows brighter the closer it gets to me?
I tried to reach the object and suddenly "Boom!" a loud noise ringing into my head. I am so shocked and suddenly become limp.

I sit down quietly on the patient bed. It has been two months since the accident in that site. The accident caused me to become crippled. Even doctor with the latest technology can't make an accurate diagnosis to my conditions. It is as if my life force slowly sucked away. I can feel that my body slowly and continuosly become numb. I know Hanna always stay there by my site, but I can feel that I slowly can't sense her anymore, I can't feel anything at all. My eyes grow weary as I know my time is growing short.
"This is my time, I yield." It is my only word that can come out of my lips as I closed my eyes.
