Chapter 2: January 29, 1865. "Reunion!"

I can't believe it! I know that has to count as important because it seems like the most important thing that could happen to me this far. Samuel is finally returning from his training with his father. I didn't touch much on it in my first entry and only said Samuel is my best friend but there's more to it than that. Samuel is gonna be my bodyguard when I become king. I mean he already is but until I'm king I insist that he only thinks of me as his best friend. Apparently our family's have had a close bond between the kings and royal bodyguards. It all starts back a long ass time ago where it was after some massive war for the land that the first real king Evanor appointed a royal guard to he at his sides at all time. That this royal guard, Samuel's really great grandfather Sevan, was unlike any other guard at the time. That he fought his way to the king's side and gave his all ensuring the survival of the royal bloodline. It's a pretty cool story but I never paid much attention to my history lessons while Samuel ate it all up like it was his life legacy which makes sense now that I think about it.

Anyway back to the important news that Samuel is returning along with his sister. Sarah's cool and all but honestly I much rather have Samuel by my side protecting me than her and her hear complain about something pointless. So to sum up why Samuel is returning is simply because he was out training for three years with his father. With his family it's when they turn the age of 13 that they are taken away to some secret place in the mountains to the east where they are pushed to their limits and are trained in several forms of fighting and magic. He can only send a letter every two months explaining his progress and growth but limited information on what it is he does daily. I'm just happy to know he's returning soon and I can't wait to see what it is he's learn and see if I can persuade him into teaching me a few spells. Father says I'll know all there is to know in magic when he passes away. I wish he would just teach me himself and spend more time with me if I'm honest. He cares for me but he keeps a distance from her as well. I can't tell what's going on with that man's thinking process.
