Chapter 3: Welcome to the Tower

Pigeon narrowed his eyes at all of the invaders, sure, he knew that they were in his sacred chamber for the show, but that didn't mean he couldn't resent them for it! They weren't negligent enough to dent any of the furniture, but they had let exactly six particles of face powder fall on the floor, and only managed to clean up three of them.

If the Host felt the resentment from Pigeon's gaze, one would have absolutely no way of telling. He turned his head this way and that as they powdered him up, he had a soft smile as he chatted kindly with the Mage who assisted him. It was only after the Host's gaze landed on Pigeon that he acted as though he finally noticed the boy.

"Hey, champ, how's it going?" the Host's voice was large and boomed as he smiled widely at Pigeon. "You're doing a fantastic job keeping the place tidy, sorry that we're invading your space but I hope we will get along great and become friends seeing as we're going to be seeing each other a lot." He paused for a moment in consideration before he amended his statement. "Well, if the person who made it in doesn't die right away like the last three failures. Gruesome stuff, that."

The Host's voice even managed to seem as though he felt bad for those other challengers. Pigeon's expression shifted as he tried to figure out if this man had- A mage who stood next to the Third Eye as a monitor suddenly spoke up, breaking Pigeon's line of thought, "Connection made. It seems like the contestant is finally awake."

With a nod, the Host quickly stood, removing the apron to reveal his Griffon-hide robes of black and gold and held out his hand expectantly. The gesture was responded to in a blink of an eye, and a grandiose Mage hat was offered to him. All the Apprentice Mages who were present, minus Pigeon, rushed around the Chamber to move objects and ready the lights before they dashed back out of view. "And we're live in five!" shouted a Senior Mage, apparently one of the producer's off from the side.

"Good morning and greetings to all of Asmorea! I am your Host for this Dungeon Live Show, Hubert Lionheart, one of the youngest Senior Mages in history and son of the last person who managed to host for a successful contestant. Let's see if we can get a win streak going!" Hurbert said with a wink, his voice still holding that booming quality while attempting to be personable. Pigeon rolled his eyes.

Hubert the Host threw up his hands to cause his robes to billow dramatically as he moved to the far side of the glowing orb, "As you all know, this is Lumena's Third Eye and I'll be using it to give us a bird's eye view of all the action going on inside the Dungeon!" With little preamble the Senior Mage closed his eyes and twisted his fingers, channeling magic towards the Eye. Pigeon wasn't entirely sure if the gust of wind, the illumination that just so happened to hit the host's face at the angle that flattered his features the most, or the dramatic way his hair and sweat glinted were part of the spell or not. Then again, he was an Apprentice Mage, all he had to go on was he felt in his gut and the self-satisfied smirk that wasn't quite hidden well enough on the bastard's face.

There was a faint tug on Pigeon's mind and he was sure, everyone else who watched the show. Their consciousness.

CREATORS' THOUGHTS
Bunny Bunny

I've decided to drop out of the contest, I'm far too stressed at the moment to do proper writing at the quality I want out of myself. Sorry for letting you all down.
