Chapter 4: A new Goal

After a month in this new world Adelor found out many things about his new reality.

First of all his room, or better to say his parents room was huge. It was as big as his apartment back on earth, he couldn't even imagine how big his home must be. All around the room there were gold decoration, and other exquisite decoration. In fact even his baby bed had this some of these exquisite decorations.

Another thing of inters was the lack of technology . During this month he hadn't seen any phones, TVs, or any other form of modern technology. Even his bathroom when he would have baby baths didn't have tab water. Also, there were things about his room that he failed to understand. Like how did his room have lights when there was no obvious source of power like electricity for example. And their light was far to bright for them to be oil lambs.

The old architectural style of furniture in the room,it made him think that he had traveled in the past. It was similar to X century Europe. He wasn't an architect anyway so he couldn't say for sure.

Adelor spend most of his days with his mother and the maid who was helping his mother take care of him. As for his father, Adelor didn't see him much. He seemed to always be busy and the only time he would see him was the evening.

Adelor had no idea what his work was though. He still couldn't understand the language of this world.

In difference from the fantasy books he used to read back on earth, the life of a baby was much more better.

Sure there were times when he would be bored but on the bright side, Adelor was living the life of a Prince. He had no worries, no work to do, no problems, and in fact he even had loyal followers, in the form of his mom, to do his biding.

The only thing he had to do was ring the bell or start crying, whichever was closer.

He was living the dream of every man and he was planing to enjoy it as much as possible.

As for his talents Adelor had no idea when they were suppose to kick in but he felt no different. He couldn't see mana as one of the talents said he would, and Adelor would have thought that was a dream if it weren't for the stupid rock in the corner of his vision. Yeah that same rock that all most consumed him,now was on the bottom right corner, of his field of vision. It didn't brother Adelor nor did it obstruct his vision. Adelor just didn't like it , but no matter how hard he tried to make it disappear, it would not go away. So he just gave up and let the rock be.

As life went on the peaceful days of Adelor's life were cut short. After nearly 2 months since he come in this world the stupid rock was activated again. One evening instead of going to sleep Adelor found himself on the same old room. The room appeared to be around 20 metres square and its walls looked like would fall,with just a slight push. There were no Windows or even a door for that matter. Also in the corner, there were spider webs but no spiders , which was weird to say the least.

Even though some new things were added to the rooms, there still are some things that never change.

Like the old table in the middle of the room and the books on it. Well...except the TALENT book of course, that book had disappeared.

Adelor still didn't have a body in this strange room. As he willed his field of vision to come closer to the table, a thought came him.

{If I can move and interact with things through my mind, maybe I can also create things with my thoughts.}

{Make me a pizza}

Nothing happened of course.

{Stupid room, if you can't make pizza what good are you for}

With nothing better to do Adelor decided to give a try to open one of the books once more.

And to his amazement the SPELL book opened. Adelor couldn't help but get a little exited. Was he going to learn spells?

He was quickly disappointed though. The book was totally empty. With a lazy thought, he tried to open the ATTRIBUTES. This time the book wasn't empty.

# Adelor Meseus Glades

# Strength — 0.01

# Speed. — 0.01

# Life force — 0.02

# Spirit. — 3.02

# Mana pool — 0.00

# Magical skills — none

# Innate talents

*superior mana sense*

*smaller mana pool*

*strong spirit *

* magical genius*

*cultivation enthusiasts*

They were just like stats in a game strength stands for how much you can carry, how strong your punch is,but different from other games strength also represented how much stamina you had.

The life force was a little different, it represented how fast you could heal after an injury but not your total health. After all, health in real life couldn't be brought down to a number.

Speed was responsible for his reaction time, his reflexes, how fast he could run and so on.

While the most important stat for a mage was Spirit. Spirit it represented how fast your mana regenerate and how long you could meditate.

Mana on the other hand was just the amount of mana or energy a person had managed to incorporate into his body. Different from games where every point of intelligence raised your total mana pool. In this world it seems that the only way to raise mana is meditation.

Also the intelligence stat was missing . If you thought about it, intelligence is how smart a person is, but in real life you can't raise intelligence. You are just born with it.

So the ATTRIBUTES book, essentially was a character sheet, that listed Adelor's upgradeable attributes and skills.

After he closed it, Adelor couldn't help but look curiously at the last book. JOURNAL.

Different from other books,the cover of the JOURNAL book was black and as soon as he opened it he found a letter on top that read

# [WELCOME

# MY SUCCESSOR

*My name is...well it seems I have forgotten it, anyway that is not the important thing. So if you are reading this ,then it means that I have died. In my long and lonely life I have accomplished a lot of things, and one of them being an Master Magus.

But after thousands of years seeing the same earth, I have finally decided to die. Even though I wanted to die I, don't want my knowledge and the things I have discovered to be buried with me.*

*So I created the knowledge Stone. This stone will travel through in the reincarnation wheel, in the hopes of finding the most talented soul. If you are doubting yourself, don't. After all if your soul was hit by the stone and you felt no pain then, it means you pass. If you didn't pass your soul would have been absorbed by the Stone. Any other outcome would be nothing short of a miracle*

*Anyway let's stop at that. After all the amount of knowledge I can pass this way is limited. But worry not my successor, what I am about to pass into you is the most magnificent, beautiful, amazing thing you have ever seen*

*Before that though, my dear successor, let me educate you a bit*.

*Do you know what is the hardest statistic to improve.*

# The Spirit

*Why? Because with strength, speed and life force all you need to do is run around like a monkey while holding some weights. After a few months they will improve.*

*Spirit on the other hand, not so simple. The average person has a spirit of 1.2 units by the time they are 15 years old. The average person with the talent to become a mage (they can feel the mana in the air) has a spirit of 3.2 units by the time they are 15 years old.*

*So only about 5% of the mages can become real mages. So we, and by we, I mean all the Master Magus in history, have discovered that unless a person has an 3.0 units of spirit by the time they are 10 years old, they will never become real mages. Even if they can feel the mana in the air, which most people don't, by the way. Only about 15% of the population can feel it.*

*The reason for that is quite simple in fact, In order for you to be a real mage you need to unlock your "mental space"*

*But you can only unlock it if you have at least 3.0 units of spirit and you are younger than 10 years old, that is the only way*

*So we have looked for hundreds of years to find a way to improve our spirit statistic. And we found 2 ways.*

*One, is just like with the muscles of the body, we damage our spirit and let it recover slowly over time. **While it is true that you can rise your spirit statistic this way. A child will die if they use this method And even in the best cases scenario the child will have serious brain damage*

*The second way is to let it grow as you incorporate mana. But again this way you can only improve it by a small amount. For every 100 units of mana your spirit statistic will improve by 1.0 unit.*

*Still this way can't improve the chances of having more real mages anyway so most of them, dropped this research, and walked away.*

*Not me of course, after years of research I finally found (by accident) a way to not only improve the spirit but also to rise the chance to have more real mages. In fact I think that you could even used it in other ways, not tested if its safe though. So my successor after I completed this research, I had nothing to live for anymore.

After you read this message you will inherent my research results. You can do whatever you want with them. I don't care. My successor who I will never meet, let me give you an advice, if you don't wanna end up like me, find a goal in life. And never lose the sight of it.*

Adelor could feel the sadness in the 'Master Magus' last words. He had felt it too. He was still feeling it. Adelor died on earth because he had no goals anymore. Revenge wasn't an goal to him. He knew that if his girlfriend had said any reason for doing what she did, Adelor would believe her.

For his so called 'brothers', He would convince himself that, they had no choice.

And they would probably still use him, deceive him, lie him, kill him.

But, that was the old him, the one who died on Earth. He was dead, he was killed, but he had finally for the first time on his both lifetimes, he had learn a lesson. He learned what he did wrong in his first life. He lived his life for the others, always doing things to please his family, always doing things for his so called 'brothers', always doing things to make his girlfriend happy.

How did they repaid him, his family didn't believed him, his 'brothers' back stabbed him, his girlfriend toyed with him.

Now, for the first time,his vision was clear. Adelor would live this life for himself.

And Adelor's goal....*MAGIC*
