Jennie's POV
"You're grounded." Mom said with her arms crossed after receiving a call from the dean and was asked to be at the school at seven thirty tomorrow.
"But it's Jungkook's Birthday today?"
"I don't care. You're still grounded. Now go to your room and learn your lessons." Mom said in a serious tone.
I stood still for a moment. Mom and I were not that close. She's was always at work and seldom went home. She sometimes forgot she had a daughter and when she did remember she couldn't recall my name.
I burst into tears and went to my room. I just could not help it. Mom never listens and she never did listen to me. I lay on my bed, hoping that somehow the mattress would swallow me up and I would simply disappear.
Jungkook will be upset at me if I don't show up. "Eoteokke?" I mumbled and covered my face with pillow. If there was only a fire-escape ladder at our house.
"That's it!" I exclaimed after coming up with an idea. I went to the closet quickly then gather up some of my clothes and extra blankets to form a rope ladder that I can use to climb out of here.
Right after I got out of the house, I took my bike and went to the nearest book store in town. Jungkook loves reading comic books. He often get scolded because he prefer reading it than books we used in school, which is way more beneficial than comic books.
"$13.59." The cashier said, not even glancing at me once. Gee the cashier looks familiar. I whispered to my self as I handed him the amount he asked and thanked him. I grabbed the comic book that I bought and was about to dash off when the cashier greeted me once again.
"Have a nice evening."
I suddenly got curious. I think I heard that voice before. I took a turn and went back at him. I looked upon his nameplate and saw Vincent Kim. Eh?! How is this even possible? I asked myself.
He looks like a different person now without his bad-boy look and act.
"Ah." He looks at me , surprised. "You're the girl who was with Yoongi a while ago." He said.
I simply nodded.
"Do you work here?" I asked,
"Kinda.' He replied. "It is my uncle who owns this book store."
"I see, nice to meet you again Vincent."
"You too..."
"Jennie." I introduced myself.
We shook hands with one another before I left and went my way to Jungkook's house. "I hope it wasn't too late for me to come by."
"Oh no, dear, you are always welcome here." Jungkook's mom assures me.
Jungkook was about to blow his candles the moment I came in but then he stopped for a moment and looked at me. Suddenly a thin smile appeared on his lips.
"Saaeng-il chukahae Kookie." I mumbled then smiled back.
Jungkook watches the candle burn for a moment then leans forward to blow it out
