Chapter 2: .:Chapter 2:. Great News
"Rafaela! Come here, quick!"
Rafaela ran towards Gord the moment she heard her name. Her golden wings fluttered at the sight of a blue and purple scroll resting on Gord's study table.
"A letter from King Estes?" Rafaela asked.
Gord nodded. "He is on his way here with Lady Miya."
"This is terrific! Finally, the scattered Heroes of Light can unite," Rafaela said.
Gord looked at her with his cold milky white eyes. "Perhaps we can contact Tigreal? It has been a long time since he came to the Land of Dawn."
"He would be a great Tank as well. Hilda and the rest surely would like to have their main Tank back."
Gord carefully rolled back the paper. "Yes, but I heard some awful news."
"What is it?"
"Tigreal is currently visiting the Jade Path, home of Minotaur. Contacting him would mean sending a messenger through a maze full of creeps and monsters."
"Yes," Rafaela confirmed. "We would not want to risk his life."
"Especially since Kaja is still healing," Gord said, pointing his thumb at the Healing Room where the mighty bird Kaja was resting.
Rafaela sighed. "He didn't have to run towards Helcurt. He saw him face to face."
Gord hopped on to his magical hovercraft made of mystical magic and spinned in a circle, shaking off the dust.
"Yes. But if he didn't do that, you could have been taken away with the rest," Gord remarked.
At this, he sped off, down the Bottom Lane of the Land of Dawn.
He was always so reckless, Rafaela thought to herself.
It was true. Gord nowadays would head to a lane by himself, even when his Mana is really low.
Mana is the magical source that allows magical heroes to summon their powers.
Once in a while, magical heroes need to rest in the Base to "refill" their Mana. Gord would usually just step on the Base for a second and fly off to any lane.
Rafaela cared for all of the heroes. She was the Main Healer but without Angela and Minotaur (the other Healers), she was given a huge load of work.
Kaja and his comrades and Hylos' men were mostly injured, so Rafaela was in the Healing Room the whole day.
Before anything else, she heard someone else calling her name.
"Rafaela! Rafaela!"
She turned around and smiled wide when she saw the young mage Kagura running towards her.
Kagura had white hair like snow and a magical umbrella that held magical spirits that helped her in battle.
She often fought alongside a great ninja by the name of Hayabusa. Just recently, he confessed his love for her. Those words came out from a quiet and shy person yet held great sneaking skills and strength as a ninja.
"How are you, Kagura? Did you go all the way here by yourself?" Rafaela asked.
"Oh, no. Hayabusa's probably hiding around the bushes. You know how he makes his grand entrance," she replied.
"In a puff of smoke and a rain of shurikens, yes," Rafaela said with a chuckle.
"I heard about what happened to Kaja. May I go see him?"
Rafaela, who was just on her way to the Healing Room, nodded. She opened the door for Kagura and said, "He's badly injured."

As quiet as a shadow, Hayabusa moved from place to place. The Land of Dawn had so much greenery and trees and bushes, it was easy for him to sneak behind an enemy unnoticed.
Should have gone with Kagura. I hope she's okay with Rafaela, Hayabusa thought to himself.
After expressing his words of love towards her, he has been very protective of her in a quiet and shy manner. Yes, he would allow her to walk down lanes alone. But sometimes, he would just hang around nearby watching her every move until she reached her destination safely.
And how does Kagura think of this? She thinks it's cute of him to do this. He has always been shy.
Suddenly, a bright orb bounced towards him. He quickly dodges it and runs toward the mage who threw it.
To his surprise, it was Gord.
"Ah, Hayabusa. Thought it was one of Helcurt's goons," Gord said in his deep voice.
"How are you lately, Master?" Hayabusa asked, his voice a little laower because of the mask covering his mouth.
"Can't sleep properly. This situation is going really bad."
Gord hopped back on his board but turned around to the young ninja. "I heard what happened between you and Kagura. Congrats."
Hayabusa lightly chuckled. "Thank you."
Before Gord could leave, Hayabusa reached out and tapped his shoulder.
"Hm? What is it?" Gord asked, turning his head back.
"What are you doing alone in the Bottom Lane?" Hayabusa asked.
"I'm finding Helcurt of course. I won't rest until this is solved," came his reply.
"Alright. Be careful, Master," Hayabusa said as he disappeared in a puff of red and black smoke.
Gord laughed to himself.
"Ninjas and their smoke bombs," he muttered.

"How's your first few weeks of dating?" Rafaela asked as the two sat down on a bench.
Kagura giggled. "He's been very gentle and shy around me lately."
"I've been wondering. Did he show you what's under his mask?"
At this question, Kagura lightly blushed. "Well, yes. At first, he hesitated when I was going to remove it. But he welcomed me with a light peck on the lips."
Rafaela's wings fluttered. "Your first kiss?"
Kagura nodded with a giggle. "He looked so much more handsome under the mask. I was wondering why he would hide his lips."
"To prevent his girlfriend from occasional kissing him," Rafaela teased.
Kagura gave her a light punch. "Oh, stop. But I have been a little bit jealous lately."
Rafaela raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Why?"
Kagura began to fiddle with her thumb. "Well, another ninja came by the name of Hanabi. I heard rumors that she likes Hayabusa and was his childhood friend."
Rafaela patted her head gently. "It's okay, Kagura. Hanabi can be his friend but you are the love of his life, correct?"
At this, Kagura stood up and sighed. "Let's tend to Kaja. We can talk about my Hayabusa problems later," she said with a giggle.
Rafaela agreed and walked down the hallway with her fellow mage.
