Chapter 23: Day 23

Another successful stew. Perhaps being a chef was my calling all along, but then who would be the captain. Maybe Harry. He is doing a good job being my first officer. Maybe when this expedition is over, I'll give him a promotion. However, Harry realized sooner than I expected that Mr. Green is missing. Harry apparently searched Mr. Green's private quarters. He came to me and told me he found blood in the room.

I acted surprised and replied with "Do you think something happened to him?"

Harry believes so. Luckily, Mr. Green had plenty of meat on his bones, so we should last for a good while. I won't need to -

Seems like a storm has just appeared in front of us.

We are surrounded by all sides. I'll have to figure something out.

Update 2:

I stopped the boat from moving toward the storm in front of us, but the storm behind us is moving forward. At this rate, we will be in a storm one way or another. I need time to think.

Update 3:

Land!

Update 4:

The good news is that some of us are still alive.

An island appeared through the storm in the front. As soon as I saw the island in front of us, I commandeered the ship. This island must have been what the voice was calling me towards. The crew braced themselves for the coming storm and it was a big one. Bigger than any that I have seen. I might have even called it a hurricane. I barged straight through the storm. Crashing waves. Lightning hit the left side of the ship. A fire on the left side of the ship. Crashing waves. Harry was the one giving commands to the crew. Jagged, sharp rocks. Long and big rocks appeared on every corner as soon as we were nearing the island. We were so close. I steered left, right, left, right, left. Evading what I could. Lightning straight down on the deck. The crew members vaporized. Harry told me that we needed to take the life boat. I disagreed. I believed the ship can take more. I was wrong. Harry was able to get on the lifeboat. The other crew members tried to get on, but the shaking ship ejected the rest of the crew and the lifeboat off the ship. I continued to steer the destroyed ship. A jagged rock came into view and crashed straight into the Raging Squid. I lost control. The ship started to tip over, revealing only a carcass of a ship. As the ship started to tip, I was ejected off and fell straight into cold waters. I grabbed onto a piece of wood that was floating above. The island was straight ahead. As soon as I grabbed the plank, the storm started to disperse. After a few moments, it was as if there was never a storm. I swam across to shore using the plank to stay afloat. When I finally reached ashore, I found Harry. He also made it ashore to this island. It seems that we are the only two crew members left. We just set up camp. Now, we're not sure what to do. I'm staring right at the remains of the Raging Squid. It was a beautiful ship. Even through all of that, the ship still has its shape. But now it's just a wreckage with only three survivors. I'm going to go to sleep, now. It's Harry's turn to watch over camp.
