Chapter 15: Four Years Ago (2)
Three months after the accident.
Bia and her family were having lunch in their restaurant. Lately, Bia was helping her father in the restaurant in her free time.
"Sweetheart, when is the opening day for your shop, l mean Kim's and yours. Do you need any help? You've been helping me a lot here".
"Thanks Dad, don't worry, everything is under control. Kim and I decided that we'll open it in two weeks time. Everything will be ready by then".
"Oh, how exciting darling, I'll take leave on that day".
"Thank you mummy".
"Don't mention it sweetheart, have some more fish, you are losing weight lately", Bia's mum put a piece of sweet sour fish on to Bia's plate. Alex was nodding his head when he heard their mother's words and said.
"Yes, you are too skinny now".
"No, I'm not". Bia glared at him.
"Okay, okay, you are not.. just eat more please. Anyway, do you need a model for your clothing? I can be one, I'm sure many people will come and visit your shop to see me, hmm?".
"No thanks Alex.. we are opening a small boutique not having a fashion show. We need some muscles to carry things, I think.."
"Right, I'll be there with my army, my dear sister. I'll make a move now. Let's go Mom and thank you for the lunch Dad, it's superb". Alex and his mom said bye to Bia and his dad. Because the needed to go back to the hospital. Alex was a junior doctor four years ago and their mom was a nurse. They were trying to spend their times as much as possible with Bia.
After Alex and his mom left the restaurant, Akira came to the restaurant.
Bia went to Akira's table, "Good afternoon, Sir. May I take your order?"
"Hi Bia, how are you?"
"I'm good, thank you. And you are?". Bia was asking him the same questions every day.
"Oh, I'm sorry.. I'm Akira, Alex's friend and I'll have spaghetti bolognese and orange juice, please".
"Sure, thank you Sir. Your meal will come shortly". Bia turned and went to the kitchen. Alex was looking at her disappearing back and sighed. 'Oh, Bia.. when will you remember my name. I told you many times, well at least I can see her every day now'.
Bia's dad came and brought the food for Akira.
"So, sorry Doctor, she can't remember you. And you are the one who saved her. I'm so sorry".
"Just call me Akira, Uncle. It's okay Uncle, she's keeping herself busy now and that is good. Are you busy Uncle? do you mind keeping me company?". Akira pulled out a chair for Mr.Rees to sit.
"I'm free now, it's after lunch so we don't have many customers. And I could rest for a while, hahaha".
Bia was serving the next table and before she went back to the kitchen, she turned to look at her father and then Akira with confused eyes when she heard her father laughing so loud.
"Uncle, I think inviting you to sit with me is a good decision. Bia just looked at my face properly for the first time, thanks Uncle". Akira was grinning from ear to ear.
"Doctor, I mean Akira.. I know how you feel about my daughter but the timing is not right. You are so young and have a bright future, I don't want you to waste your time chasing her. She's broken now and I don't know how long it will take for her heart to heal".
"I know Uncle, I just want to be around her and thank you for not punching me after you know how I feel about Bia". Hearing that Mr.Rees laughed again.
"Hahaha, If I punched you, then I'll lose a loyal customer and it's bad for my business, hahaha.. And you are not the one I want to punch". Mr.Rees turned to look at Bia who was standing at the counter and sighed.
"Ehmm, ehmm, I think I need to go back to the kitchen. It's nice to have you here Akira".
"Thank you Uncle". Mr.Rees got up and left Akira.

At night, in Bia's room.
Bia was busy the whole day, from morning to noon, she was with Kim in their boutique. Then she had lunch with her family and she stayed at the restaurant to help her dad till 9pm. She needed to be busy to stop her mind thinking about that useless man. She was at the stage of blaming Grant, she didn't only blame herself anymore but she blamed him too. Even after thinking all of that was his fault, the pain she felt was not lessen but became worst. People said that 'time heals', well it was not for Bia. Everything she did, everywhere she went and everyone she met made her think of Grant.
She was in her room alone, she could ask her mom to sleep with her as she did many times for the past three months but she shouldn't disturb her family all the time.
She took out a velvety box from under her pillow, in the box was a ring with a pink sapphire gemstone. Yup, pink sapphire, Grant gave her such a beautiful engagement ring. And he promised he will be with her forever when he put the ring on her finger. And on top of that he said that he'll give her a better wedding ring, even though she said she would used the same ring for the wedding. She loved the ring and didn't want him to waste more money to buy another ring. But the new ring never existed or she didn't even used the pink sapphire ring as her wedding ring. What a lier, a heartless monster and she cursed him until she fell asleep.
