Chapter 2: Idol? Me?

"J-Jin?"

He was Jin.

Jin from BTS.

Bae Seoyeon would want to scream in his face. She finally met the idol.

But… What was he doing here in her company?

"Finally, you are calling me Jin. I thought you will keep addressing me as 'Director Kim'," the man joked while approaching her, "and you changed your shirt."

She wanted to avoid his hand from holding her, but looking at his famous 'Worldwide Handsome' face, she couldn't move. She was confused about what he talked as she hadn't seen him in person before and she had been wearing the same shirt the whole day.

"So, do we want to go to Noran for fried chicken tonight? Someone told me she has been craving fried chicken for days."

She stared at the man, absolutely confused if she was in a dream. Thought so, she gave herself a slap.

"Ouch!" She winced.

Kim Seokjin giggled on her action, "Baby, what are you doing? Hahaha..."

Her right cheek was slightly red and still in pain. She was sure that this wasn't a dream if she could feel the pain.

Bae Seoyeon thought in what circumstances would the famous idol appeared in front of her and called her 'baby'. Unfortunately, her mind was in a blank staring at the good-looking appearance.

'Hidden camera'? Yes, a 'hidden camera'! That's the most common script appeared in a variety show. BTS must be filming some shows right now.

She observed around the room, trying to find the hidden camera. Of course, it was called 'hidden camera' for a reason. Bae Seoyeon couldn't get a hint of where the camera was located at.

"Where is the camera?" She blurted out.

"What camera?" Kim Seokjin laughed off as if she was telling a joke, "Baby, I am really, really, really hungry now. Let's go for dinner!"

By then, he had already pulled her out of their office.

Bae Seoyeon noted that something was strange.

He wasn't thinking of he could stroll along at the centre of Seoul with his current suit and tie, was he? Where was his mask and baseball cap? He wore like what BTS usually had on the red carpet. Maybe not as fine, but his face was still the attention of the media.

The worst thing was that he was holding her hand all the time. What if some paparazzi caught a photo of them? They would probably write some crazy stories about idol and fan that she read in fan-fictions.

She stopped him from walking towards the main entrance of their office building, "Are you just going to go out like this?"

"Yes, why? I parked my car at the parking lot opposite today," he answered casually.

"But... But, you are BTS!"

"BTS?" Kim Seokjin didn't understand what she was saying, but then he thought of something, "Oh yea, I was in the BTS for today's filming, but they said they will mosaic all the staff's faces out."

"No, you are BTS! Where is your cap? And your mask? Where is your manager?" She bombarded him and left him with several question marks on his head, "I know all of these are 'hidden camera', so tell the production team they can stop filming now."

Kim Seokjin raised one eyebrow in doubt and wanted to circle her in his arms but Bae Seoyeon slightly pushed away to avoid him, "Baby? What are you talking about? There is no camera and the production team for the MVs had gone after they finished filming. There hadn't been to our office either. Why would they come?"

Bae Seoyeon felt like she was talking to an alien. If this wasn't a 'hidden camera' script in a show, what could this be?

She noticed the company sign shining in silver in the foyer which said 'RJ Creative Agency'.

Hold on a minute! She worked at RJ Architects. When had this building changed hands?

She pointed at the name and stared at Kim Seokjin, wanted to say something but she only uttered a single letter.

"Is there anything wrong with the sign?"

"Isn't this an architect firm?"

Kim Seokjin finally realised his girlfriend was strange, "it has always been a creative media agency. It's my company, can't you remember? You work here too."

Bae Seoyeon couldn't take in more information that was too far away to be called facts.

"Are you alright, baby? You seem a bit... weird... today."

"No! You're weird! When did you have your own company?" She scanned him, from head to toes. Although she hadn't seen him in person before, she was pretty sure the man in front of her was the idol she liked a lot.

This man wouldn't be another man who resembled his signature 'Worldwide Handsome' face, nor could anyone have the same wide shoulders as him.

"Four or five years ago?" He answered like she was an idiot, "we grew up together. You know it better than I do."

Bae Seoyeon scoffed in disbelief. That was the biggest jokes of the day. Did he think they were acting in a Korean drama?

"What is my name?" She asked.

"Baby, did you lost your memory?" He put his hands on her shoulder agitated, "What happened to you? Look at me, how many fingers-"

"What is my name?" She cut him off. She might be losing her memory in this case where everything was different from her memory, but it didn't mean that she was blind.

"Seoyeon. Bae Seoyeon."

Of course, he knew her name. They knew each other since he was 10 years old and they became a couple three years ago.

Bae Seoyeon, on the other hand, couldn't think of a reason why he knew her name. The question mark in her mind grew bigger like avalanches.

"Who am I to you?" She continued to question him.

"You are my girlfriend, and my bae, because you're 'Bae' Seoyeon," he answered, didn't forget to make lame jokes with her name.

Bae Seoyeon ignored him and thought to herself. He knew her name and he said she was his 'bae'. This couldn't be real.

She wanted to ask who is he, but the name tag in front of his office had already told her that he was Kim Seokjin, the Creative Director of RJ Creative Agency.

If this was a Korean drama, she must be the only actress who hadn't gotten her script yet.

"When do you have time to operate a creative media agency?" She wondered, totally confused, "Aren't you an idol?"

"Idol? Me?" Kim Seokjin burst out laughing upon hearing the words which were almost impossible to be in a sentence, "Seoyeon, you know I can't dance. How can I compete with all the dancing kids to become an idol? That's silly. Hahahaha..."

Well, she knew that he couldn't dance. However, she also knew how much effort BTS had put into their training and practices to make every performance perfect.

"Seoyeon, you are weird but... You are just joking, right? Can we go and have dinner now? I am starving!" He pouted and touched his stomach like a little kid.

Not waiting for her response, he had already pulled her out of the building and into his car.

Bae Seoyeon tried to cover her face with her hands as Kim Seokjin chuckled at her.

In the restaurant, Kim Seokjin just greeted the staff as if he was one of the frequent guests. The ladies from a few tables away was talking about him, but other customers in the restaurant were just doing their own things. They didn't even glance at the couple.

She had encountered a round of culture shock.

Everyone was talking about BTS, but how could these people just act like the person in front of her was just another human being on Earth?

"I am a human being," she heard the man laughed softly, only she realised that she had spoken her thought out.

She gulped down the beer in front of her.

"Woah! Woah, be careful, baby," he yelped and took the glass out of her hand.

Under the influence of alcohol, Bae Seoyeon got up her nerves, "I don't know what is going on. You told me you are not BTS' Jin. Everything was different from what I used to know. What is wrong with this world? What is wrong with me?"

Kim Seokjin was worried, "Baby, are you alright?"

"Jin, you didn't know me, right? It's just a script, right?" Bae Seoyeon couldn't help but refuse to accept her current situation.

She had gone through different stages of emotions whole day – the creepiness she got in the storage room, then the surprise when she saw Kim Seokjin in the company, now only confusion where the reality wasn't the same with her memory.

"Baby, stop joking already. Why would I lie to you?" Kim Seokjin finally realised the critical situation in front of him. There was no way his girlfriend would joke with him for an hour straight. It was always him who joked around and played pranks on her.

"No, I am not joking. I am being really serious now," her body almost trembled, "If you are not a member of BTS, where is BTS?"

"Who is BTS?" Kim Seokjin was sincere when he questioned, "You have been mentioning it a few times. Doesn't it mean 'behind the scene'?"

She was fear.

She had a really bad feeling that this wasn't the world she knew.

"BTS is a seven-member boy band under Big Hit Entertainment," she explained, "and you are one of the members."
