Chapter 2: Ch 2: Life of a Mother

~1983 May 13 - Fiona Pov~

It's been three years since my sisters and I started to take care of our son Ghoul. At first, we didn't know what we were doing but after a bit, we got used to taking care of him and now we are like a model family.

Well let me tell you about Ghoul for a bit he's cute, well behaved and a little bundle of joy you can't live without. I can say this without a doubt because I'm his mother and when you look at his flawless white skin, fluffy white hair that looks like a messy crows nest, his sleepily violet-red eyes that look like beautiful gems, and with the cute baby fat on his body, he looks like a delicate doll that anyone wants to have and can't live without.

He enjoys stories about princess and knights and playing save the princess were my sister and I take turns playing as the princess. He really does loves his knight's stories and games as he's always talking about becoming the knight that saves the princess. He doesn't like villains and being dirty or disorganized.

I once asked him why he likes knights so much one time and he told me it was because knights were cool and princesses are beautiful like his mums. He even pointed out that the princesses are wearing the same close as me. When he told me I looked through the picture books we have for him and sure enough, the princesses are wearing similar close to my sisters and I are wearing all the time. This also showed me that he loves his mums a lot and thinks he should protect us like a knight he so much wants to be.

It's a blessing to have a lovable child like him and I regret never having one when I was alive. I'm sure my sisters feel the same way as I do seeing how all five of us die without having a child of our own and now we are living that peaceful family life that we always wanted.

All five of us are raising him and act as his mother with different approaches to raise him as we don't really know the best way to raise him. From what I gathered I'm the over doubting type of mother, while my sister Samantha is strict but kind, sister Bertha is gentle and protective, while Marianne and Arcana are something like helicopter parents.

All five of us might be raising him differently but at the same time we like to spoil him all the same but Ghoul doesn't take advantage of it and lives a modest life for a kid his age. He even acts like a gentleman which I have to say is so adorable.

We spent most of our days by starting off with a light breakfast that Ghoul can only eat seeing how he's the only one that can actually eat and after he eats his breakfast we have family time like playing or telling stories until lunch. Once lunch is over we have him do a few wizarding etiquette classes like how we were taught in our young days and we let him play between classes to not overwork him. After the classes, we let him have a short nap or let him play some more before dinner time. During dinner which is our last activity of the day before we put Ghoul to sleep, we have him tell us what he enjoyed about the day and what he actually learned during that day's lessons to see what we need to work on.

This helps him to express himself to us and it's enjoyable seeing his emanated movements while he's explaining about his day.

It's pretty amazing how normal he's growing up despite how his living arrangements are like. Even when my friends and the Ministry workers who come and visit us once and a while are shocked by how well he's growing up because in most wizarding homes if a ghost is living with children they mostly only ever just look after the children for a bit not help raise them in any way. Then there us who are raising a child by our selves a feat that was never heard of until now that is.

We even get a lot of letters from some wizarding newspapers asking for interviews that we always deny but that doesn't really stop them from writing news articles.

The news articles are calling Ghoul the Ghost Prince or the next Dark Lord by some small up and coming news journalist named Rita Skeeter. I hate that woman and if given the chance I would kill her. She does nothing but writes rubbish and anything to get readers.

Lucky for us she's not that well known and Ghoul is a three-year-old right now who will believe that he will be the next Dark Lord but the Ghost Prince title has somehow stuck and when people talk about him they use his title other than his actual name. I can't really blame them for doing so as I'm ashamed to admit that my sisters and I like to call him that when teasing him.

Besides all that stupid newspaper drama we were happy to find out that Ghoul will grow up to be a Wizard as he's been showing signs of doing accidental Magic around the house for a while now, and we even saw him in the act once. After we found out we held a little celebration inviting some close friends. We did nothing for the celebration as ghost don't really celebrate but we all crowded around Ghoul hoping to see him use magic while telling him stories of all kinds to get him to smile. It was fun and it looks like we can wait for an admissions letter from Hogwarts anytime soon now, of course, it will come when he's eleven but I can't hold back my excitement.

Our lives have been truly blessed senses we have been taking care of our little Ghost Prince Ghoul.

How should he learn Ghost Magic either he learns it from a grimoire, magical item or a self-made?
