Chapter 28: The power
During the journey, we found some resistance in the form of goblins. And let me tell you, they are really, really ugly. I don't to fight these types of monsters, but the guild master took care of them, so everything's fine. It was already night when we reached the ruins, and because it's going to be indoors, we rested a little and entered during the night. Hermione seems to be a little sleepy, but she's used to the curfew plans of Harry and Ron, so she'll be able to hold on. And there we were, in front of the gate to the ruins...
Guild master- okay, there should be guards past this point, be careful
Rainy- count on me, hehe.
Hermione- there won't be traps too right?

Once we entered we found a guard, so i quickly used a stupefy spell and it went down. We continued through the ruins, and the guild master found some traps, not really dangerous traps but the usual, poisoned arrows, a boulder... It seems that the fantasy books had it right.
After a pair of guards, we found a door with a silver lock on it.
Rainy- meh, if only we were witches...
Hermione- yes, yes, I'll do it. Alohomora.

Guild master- that is a useful and dangerous spell...
Rainy- haha, it's one of the beginners spells.
Guild master- ...well, it's good that you are on our guild then.
We entered the door and we saw Lucy on a cell, sleeping. Then we approached her and opened the door with another alohomora.
Rainy- ...hey, Lucy, wake up.
Lucy- zzzzz
Rainy-... wake up!
Lucy- eh? Eh? Oh! Rainy, Hermione, Guild master! I didn't thought you all would come! Thanks for the rescue.
Rainy- not a completed rescue yet, Lucy.

The wall to the right exploded, we took cover and from the smoke we could see a guy with two swords and a cool black equipment that covered everything, even his face.
???- so, it's thanks to you that the tools i left guarding the ruins were unconscious? Not funny.
Guild master-!!! Rainy, you both need to run! And take Lucy with you!
Rainy- why? We can beat him and then run no?
Guild master- I'm afraid not, he's a dangerous assassin that's on a superior level of the A-rank, he's known because he plays with his kills. I'll try to stall him a little. Remember that the mission is the rescue of Lucy!
Rainy-!! tsk, this is not funny anymore. Lucy we are going, Hermione, come, you'll run with me too.

Then the assassin appeared in front of us, between the guild master and us, and attacked Hermione.

I protected Hermione with that, and he just made a superficial horizontal cut on her chest. I helped her to get up and escaped with Lucy too while the guild master had begun his fight.
Like that we begun to run and we heard a really loud fight behind us, but soon it faded away on the distance, as we were approaching the surface.
Once we were on the surface i asked Lucy if she knew how to mount a horse, and of course, she knew. So i asked her to take Hermione back to the town.
Hermione- what?? I'm not leaving you behind!
Rainy- Hermione, I can't go wild with you here! Get out! Now!
Hermione-!! ... what does that mean?
Rainy-... Lucy, get her to the town.
And i entered the ruins again, using Haste! First, and then Bravery! Protect! Shell! Regen! And i couldn't afford Aura! Because i had 23 mana left. I got quickly to the cell room and i saw the assassin holding the guild master with one of his swords, that was stabbing the guild master's shoulder. He then saw me on the door and tossed the guild master to me.
???- there you have your precious guild master, girl. Now, will you play with me too? I like that face!
Rainy- ...
I then looked to the guild master that was on the floor and saw that he was not on death danger yet, so I dragged him out of the room and went inside again. I couldn't see that he dragged himself back to the door to see the fight.
???- so you really are brave! Come on, let's see your skills girl!
Rainy-... I, I can forgive the fact that you kidnapped Lucy. I can forgive the state of the guild master, after all both of the situations were more or less what I thought that would happen, it was your job... but then, you attacked Hermione. She's not the strongest nor the weakest on our group. She's not one specially dangerous for the enemy. I really thought that she was the one more safe in the group. And even so.... now is late for you nameless assassin! Go on!!, try to fight!!, try to run!!, try to hide!!. I also like to play!!
Then i jumped forward at an abnormal speed while conjuring Joyeuse and thrusted right through his chest.
???-!! wha-?
Then i thought, Command! Special! Double tap! And i did an horizontal cut from right to left, and he defended with his left sword, but i twisted my wrist, and the second hit of double tap! Was a vertical one that cut off his right arm.
???- aaaaghhh!! what the... what are you, monster!
Rainy- eh?? what... do you not like this?? oh, oh, true, what you did was this right?
Then I stabbed him with the rapier on his left shoulder, and I raised him in the air.
???- let- let me go!!
Rainy- this is not funny anymore. Why are you not retaliating hmm?? or is it that you are this weak?
Guild master-(what is this!? she's way stronger than before...!! was she not being serious on our fight?)
I got confident and I tossed him on the ground letting him take his sword again, with the arm he had left. He got into position and begun his technique.
???- you-you'll pay for my arm with your life!!
Then he took his mask off and he had strange eyes, on the moment I took a look on them I froze, I couldn't move.
???- hahaha!! this eyes... a blessing and a curse... I'm the best assassin in the world thanks to that! Die!
He attacked me with a vertical attack and made a cut all through the front of my body. But it healed in a matter of seconds
Rainy- so this is what you had for me?? a status ailment? ... whatever, the bugs are always bugs. You. Don't. Have. The Power. Command! Magic! Blind!
He got blinded and jumped backwards really scared.
???- what is this? What have you done!!??
Rainy- what you should be asking is... can you move now?
After saying that I was going to thrust his neck, but...
Hermione- Rainy, a stun!
Rainy-... fine, i can't kill someone if you are here. Stupefy!
Then we took everyone we knocked down on the way here and got them inside my trunk. By the way, all the furniture and books i had on my trunk are on Hermione's. we bought her a trunk like mine before coming to this world for this purpose.
[On our way back to the city. The next morning]
Hermione- why did you want to kill him?
Rainy-hmm? What do you mean?
Hermione- well it's not normal that someone wants to kill someone else, so i was wondering why?
Rainy- I don't know, it's a bit irrational but I convinced myself I was going to need to kill here, and now i haven't killed a single bandit. It might be an aftereffect of convincing myself... or might be because that... guy, putted you in danger. I don't care if me, or anyone of this world gets in danger because that's normal in this world. But you shouldn't be here, you are here only so that you see that I can survive on my own. And I wouldn't be able to face your parents if something happened to you. So I might have got angered a little.
Hermione- oh... thanks then, but not killing.
Rainy- ok, ok.
