Chapter 42: The entrance
The next day I was the first to get out of the common room, because I had to go with Luna to the lake to talk a little. So I was one of the firsts students to go to the breakfast. The few students that were there had that fear on their faces.
Rainy- *sigh* (I have to think about this very carefully. How can someone enter the chamber of secrets? I mean, if a student is being controlled, (I'm trusting that Voldemort itself won't be able to enter the castle) then it can't be something about blood... so anyone with the correct whatever can enter... but what.)
Luna- hey Rainy, how are you?
Rainy- Luna! I'm fine, but how are you? Are the Nurgles still bothering you? I can pay them another visit. (hehehehe)
Luna- no, they are not. They continued for some time, but after everyone thinks you are the heir of Slytherin, they have stopped... do you think they fear the monster too?
Rainy- haha, I'm sure of it, shall we go to the lake?
Luna- sure.
Then we went to the lake, and I begun to tell her about everything, she was a good friend, and I needed another point of view. I told her about the voice, about the fact that the chamber needs to be opened with something that anyone can give... or learn. And I told her about the symbol on my training room, when I think of the chamber.
Luna- .....hmm, should we go to your training room?
Rainy- do you want to see the symbol?
Luna- that too, but after all you have told me... don't you think the only thing you need to do is talk in parsel to the symbol?
Rainy-.....
Luna- I mean, if it's something anyone can learn more or less, and it has to be something only the heir would know... that might be. And if that's true, then maybe it really is a way to the chamber what appeared on your training room...
Rainy- I knew I had to talk to you! Thanks! I'm going now!
Luna- wait. I'm going with you.
Rainy- what? Why? It's dangerous... we don't know what monster is in there!
Luna- I want to see the place, and you need someone to take your body if you get petrified... besides, you always say that you are awesome. I'm sure that you won't let anything happen to me.
Rainy- (hmm, it's true that with me there there are few possibilities that she will be in danger) okay. I'll show you the training room... but if we open a path to the chamber, we are not going inside. We need to be sure of what we are fighting with, deal?
Luna- deal. But how will you know what it is without seeing it?
Rainy- Hermione is taking care of that... don't worry.
We both went directly from the lake to the training room. And when we got there I made it appear while thinking only on having the room connected to the chamber of secrets. When we were inside, the room was an empty room with only the symbol of a snake on the floor.
Luna- this is a really interesting room...
Rainy- yes, it is.
Luna- so, this is the symbol... what can you say in parsel?
Rainy- don't know, it's like I'm talking normally but to snakes... maybe it activates when I'm trying to talk to a snake only...
Luna- then it's lucky that the symbol is a snake too.
Rainy- yeah, maybe it works...
I got closer to the symbol, and I said ''Open'' to it, but it seems that it went out in English. Then I tried to imagine the symbol being alive on the floor and said ''Open up!''. A snake-like sound left me, and it was then when the floor begun to move. The place where the symbol was disappeared and in it's place, a spiral staircase appeared that went really down.
Rainy- wow, if this goes to the dungeons or even more, it must be a long staircase.
Luna- yes, this seems like an impressive achievement.
Rainy- yes. But right now we need to learn what the monster is.
Then I went out of the training room with Luna, the place would close itself. After saying goodbye to Luna, I went to the library to see if I can help Hermione. We searched all the day, when we had transfiguration, she went out to class, but I stayed reading about monsters.
That night I found out that another kid was petrified and that I should awake him tomorrow, I also found out that Harry was being the suspect number 1 just because he was the first one to find it. Anyway it was really interesting how the students would act, '' oh no, he's the heir and can kill us all... let's make him mad, what can possibly happen!'' they were really lucky that none of us was the heir.
Three days later I was with Hermione on the library. Justin said that whatever it was, just looking did what it did.
Rainy- (I can't find anything that petrifies looking as that Justin said...)
Hermione- here! This might be Rainy! The basilisk!
Rainy- I've already seen it, but it kills with the eyes, not petrifies.
Hermione- yes, but I've been thinking about that, and all the victims looked through something to those eyes! The cat through the water, Colin through the camera...
Rainy- and that Hufflepuff boy through nick! Of course! Then it's just lucky that it hasn't killed anyone yet...
Hermione- yes...we have to tell the professors.
Rainy- you do it, I have other things to do.
