Chapter 1: Chapter One ( The Awakening 1)
Calara village:
Chief, the awakening ceremony is tomorrow and all kids are waiting for your blessing. Aren't you ready yet? Asked vice chief loren of calara village.
Well, im still confused with the first and second gift of this years ceremony. So many good seedlings this year. I don't want to rush and unjust to any of those kids. Specially those 4 kids who are likely to get admitted under Magic Hall. This year's awakening ceremony seems to be a bit special. I really don't understand why magic hall is sending their level 6 authority holder to our village just for attending the awakening ceremony. It never happened before.
Loren wasn't prepared for this shocking news. Chief!! what are you saying? Magic Hall is sending their level 6 authority holder this year to our village? Just for attending the awakening ceremony? You are telling me that now? How am i supposed to prepare everything within a day?
No worries, loren. Just prepare some good gifts for Mrs Ela. Yes, she is the representative of magic hall this year and don't forget to talk to old tara for the ingredients for tomorrows banquet. I think i know why they are sending Mrs Ela this year but i just want to be sure.
Loren couldn't understand what the old chief is thinking but she understood very well her father, the chief of calara village wouldn't be worried this much if its just a regular awakening ceremony. Something is fishy and she couldn't understand what it is. Is it about that nights incident 6 years ago? Can it be that a divine child really born in their village? But none of the kids seems that special and above all they all were growing in front of her. So she knows very well if something was special about any of them.
Same time somewhere in the village hall, kids were assembled for the blessing from village chief. None of these kids was born with a silver-spoon. Within 19 of them almost 15 of them were poor kids. Only 4 of them came from comparatively well to do family. But still, if you compare them with the wealthy kids from the town, they would be more like village bumpkins, which is actually true.
Hey cloudia, who do you think will get the first prize in this years awakening ceremony? asked a kid from the orphanage. This year 3 kids from orphanage were gathered in the village hall. None of them had any parents. They were-Jim, loura and eon. As three of them grew up in orphanage, they became like family after passing many hardships within these years together.
I think the blacksmith uncle's son harry will get the first price as he seems to be the strongest among us. I'll be happy if they just give me some candies after the ceremony; cloudia replied to loura.
Harry was wresting with eon for a candy box. Eon, if you can defeat me today, then this candy is yours. Jim was looking at harry trying to learn his intention as he treated eon like his own brother but after seeing how they were wrestling a smile gradually covered his face. Harry was the strongest of them but he was actually loosing to eon. The reason was simple- he just wanted to give eon the candybox and if he offered eon willingly then there is a good chance that eon will not accept the gift without any compensation. This was the lesson eon learned from living in a orphanage. Nothing is free in this world.
See eon, you are getting stronger each day and as i lost fair and square, this candy box belongs to you. Harry hold the box in-front of eon.
Eon looked at the violet candy box and again looked at harry. He understood very much that actually this is a gift from harry. After some moment of hesitation eon accepted the box and opened it. There were 20 candies inside the box and the assembly hall had nineteen kids. After looking at claudia he understood easily to whom the extra candy will go. Claudia was a glutton specially for candy so the distribution didnt take too long.
The blessing ended before evening and all the kids got back home except the three kids from orphanage. The three kids were with loren as loren was instructing them about the ceremony. Most of the kids learn from their family but these three kids learned everything from loren. They treated loren as a part of their family.
Aunt loren what will happen when i awaken my sprit? Asked Jim with an innocent face.
Well, it depends. We all have our sprits awaken at the age of 6 and it is mandatory to awaken our sprits just at the age of 6 because after that it becomes very hard and sometimes it becomes impossible to awaken it later. Lora replied with a smiling face and started to explain things to those kids.
Its very easy and there will be no pain. Dont worry about the process. Just keep calm and focus on the stone when you are asked to. Thats all you have to do at the ceremony. Let me tell you why sprit awakening is important.
Here, look at this: A dark red light flashed from loren's pum and gradually took a shape of a dagger. This is my magic weapon.
Wow thats amazing. How did you do that? asked loura.
Well, i can barely keep it in this dagger shape for 10 seconds as my magic level is bellow 3. Most of us have magic level below 5 so we cant keep our magic weapon stable. If any of you have magic level 5 or above you can keep the shape permanently. That is what matters.
So its important to have higher magic level but at the same time its also important to have a good magic tool. Like Harry's father has a hammer as a magic tool and his magic level is just 5.
If you have a good tool that is good for combat then you can join the knight division or magic hall. But there is still a per-requisite and that is your magic level. Without a good magic level your tool will be unstable. If you cant awaken a magic tool and your magic level is high, you can become a magician and join magic hall.
Eon become very interested and asked, aunty; if i can awaken a good magic tool and my magic level is 5 can i join knight division or magic hall?
Loren couldn't help but smile with his innocent question. No dear, its not that easy. With magic level 5 you can barely keep the shape with your magic tool. To become a magician or knight you need to have you magic level at-least 9-10. Its very rare to have magic level more than 8. Don't be sad, its ok if you can have magic level at-least 5. In that case there would be many opportunity for you to join different professions like blacksmiths. The highest level our village produced in last 60 years is only level 8; that is our village chief. So don't expect too much, am i doing that bad with my magic level 2?
