Chapter 167: Maggie

The doubt blew out of her mind the moment those eyes of Reimonna landed upon her.

Lianne could see immediately the slight dismissal, tinged with a sort of dissatisfaction. 

<So much for being a genteel woman> Lianne thought to herself.

Immediately upon the thought entering her mind, Lianne scolded herself.

She was not being fair to Reimonna. From all her research and the manner in which Kai talked about his mother, Lianne knew very well that Reimonna was not like this. 

Kai had said that his mother would accept any woman that he chose, so her slight hostility and obvious displeasure (to her) meant one of two things. Perhaps both.

One, someone close had been whispering negative things about her into Reimonna's ears. Two, Reimonna was jealous.

Kai had been her everything. Is her everything.
