Chapter 2: The Idols: Part 2

I was visiting Eryglia again, for the first time in a while. The pyramids sit around me, filling the world. "This is more triangles then I saw in the geometry unit." I said jokingly to my friend. "Jon, I told you not to bring up math during summer." he replied. We walk on down the hot sunny barren landscape. "Why did we even choose this as our vacation?" I ask him. "You chose it? I told you Malito was a better idea." he says to me with a disappointed look. When we reached the pyramids I had the urge to walk inside. We reached the gate and the guards stopped us. But for some reason we decided to walk around and keep trying to get in, despite the fact that we weren't allowed. There was a hammer around the back. "What are we doing?" I said to my friend. We chipped through the wall to reveal a small tomb. I went in closer. It unlocked it's lock on its own, like I was meant to open it. Inside the tomb was a rotting skeleton, a gold crown, a few crystals, most likely diamonds, and a stick. "There's a bunch of valuables, and a stick." I called to him. "It's probably important."

We went to test it out. I held the stick and shot my arm outwards like I was using a wand. I turned towards the guard, which was running after me. Suddenly I teleported to a new area, one without the guards. "I believe it's a danger stick. When in danger, it helps us out." I told him. The guards found us again, I used the wand again. This time it shot out a bolt of lightning, which I hope stunned them. If they were killed, I would have to get in trouble with the police. We were teleported back home with the wand. For some weird reason, it led me to believe there are more in this world than just the wand.

I heard a knock on my door, it was my friend. He asked if I had a dream about a magic wand in Eryglia. I told him I still had the wand, and that it was not a dream. "This could be bad if we continue holding on to this wand. We should turn it in." he said to me. "I think it will come back to us though." I replied. "It's our protector now."

We went down to a shop across town to give the wand to the owner to sell, just to check. The owner inspected it and said, "It looks old and expe-" he paused for a moment. He looked at us then looked back at the item. "It looks like it's not worth a lot. Here, you can have it back." We took the item and knew what it had done. We went home and found another stick on the bed, a replica. We took that stick to the shop and the shopkeeper said "Well, now that I think about it, it looks really old. Ill buy it for 12 grams of silver." We denied the offer. "Well what about 30?" he replied. Again, we denied it. We said we changed our mind on selling it. We have a plan now. "What if we turn in the fake wand and keep the real one?" I suggested. My friend agreed. We did the deed and were sent to jail for 3 years. The wand sent us back home and nobody said anything about us being thieves. Suddenly the wand took us to an open field. We were given food to throw. All the rabbits came and ate it up and suddenly, I realized the wand wasn't just saving us. The wand was giving us happiness. But one question was unanswered. "Why did the old king have it in his tomb?" I asked my friend. "I dont know, that, we will have to find out." So we continued to feed the rabbits coming across and soon, when we finished, were sent back home. This is what the wand does, it gives us what we want, not what we think we want.
