Chapter 1: Oath keeper and Barbiel
The sword of secrets - Oath keeper and the war-horse - Barbiel is now yours. What you do with them is up to you. Be it revenge or killing for fun the sword and horse shall follow you to death.
These words echoed in Leomord's mind. He had no idea who said those words, but the voice radiated power, unlike anything he had seen.
Barbiel stood with its head held down. Leomord did not know how to make it rise. He had never been this close to a horse before. In fact, he had only seen horses from afar.
Leomord moved towards the horse. The head of the horse was clad in silver armor. Its eyes radiated a blue hue. Leo had never seen anything like that in a horse.
As Leo's hands touched the silver armor the horse stood back up. Its blue eyes stared into his own. Leo's heart became covered with a deep sense of understanding with the horse. It was as if he had always known the horse, but this was the first time he had ever seen anything like it.
His eyes moved towards the sword. Half of it was inside the ground. Leo moved towards it and pulled it out. As he did a great deal of power surged from the sword towards him. Especially towards his right eye. Leo fell on his knees.
The vision in his eyes turned red. The world became covered in blood. Then, Leo's eyes started to see a new vision. He was staring at himself.
Leo looked around, but could not notice any difference. But when he looked down he could see the legs of a horse. He then looked towards the back. From the corner of his eyes, he could see the entire body. It was Barbiel's body.
As he noticed this his vision returned to normal. The blood-filled world faded away. Now Leo was on his knees holding Oath Keeper.
This all had been an unexpected turn of events. He was sure his life had been over. Ever since he was a child he only wanted one thing. To be a member of The Knights of Despair. They were the most respected among the Dark Abyss.
But coming from a background such as his becoming a knight was a dream. That is the case when you live in the slums.
The trees rose towards the skies. The sun-dappled leaves created shadows in the ground. The wind rustled through the leaves as the smell of grass entered his nose.
Leo stood up. He then stabbed Oath keeper into the air. Leo's body danced around with the sword. His body had changed.
He became faster and each swing had a much stronger force to it. All this was good but he could not go back. Not yet.
That was because to become a member of The Knights of Despair you did not have to go through training or a test. No, you had to fight a battle. You only had one opponent. The Crusher.
He was one of the most feared members of the knights. In fact, it had been two years since he was last defeated. Countless men and woman from all ages fought him, but only a few could win. And Leo was one of those who had lost.
Not only that if you lost the fight everything belonging to you including your magical items would become theirs.
Many people after losing everything belonging to them had killed themselves from the pain. Leo had contemplated on that matter. He had nothing left in the world other than his revenge, but without power, there can be no revenge.
Leo had gone through a lot of hardships to get The Bloodlust Axe but ended up losing it.
Now, he had to find more Magical Items. If he cannot then he would once again lose to the crusher.
Leo knew what he had to do. The one he was after was there. He knew who he had to kill. Thamuz the general of the Dark Abyss Army and the murderer of his clan.
