Chapter 2: Act 2

Now we go to a land not too far away from the mines, but not too near either. The land owned the mines and prospered greatly from it, but that was all. If the mines were to be plagued by an illness no one would care. Those were the mines and that was their problem. They will survive without us so why should we help. If they wanted to live better why do they not just live here? Selfish and ignorant questions like this arose everytime a problem came up regarding the mines. They do not know the hardships people at the mines had to go through and they did not know the unfair treatment being committed there by the corrupt. So, when another problem arises from the mines no help is sent and no care is given. Life went on and death worked at its normal pace.

We go into the castle and there we find a knight keeping guard. It is night and no normal person was awake. The only ones awake at this time were the people dancing in debauchery and dabbling in immoralities. But on this certain night much more than the normal happenstances were going on. A thief, trained her whole life in the art of stealing, is on a roof of a certain building. She was trying to calm her breathing. She tries to remember why she is doing this and starts calming down. She did not want to go into prostitution and this was her only choice. She envied the rich and aristocratic women who had more choices than her in life. Her plan was to get rich and then stop stealing. She could hear the laughter of drunk men catcalling to ladies. She could remember the groans and moans coming out of the whorehouses as she passes by them on her way home and steels her nerves. She would not be reduced to becoming a man's object and plaything. She looks down and sees the windowsill that she is trying to get down to. She was on top of a 3-story house so if she falls it would mean her doom. This did not scare faze her anymore and she continues on with her plan. She ties a rope to the chimney and lowers her body to the windowsill. When her toes touch the sill she starts inching the rest of her body down until she is in a crouching position. The window was left open and this unnerves her. No, rich man in their right mind would leave the window open. She considers the choices she has and decides to go through with it. She crawls through the window slowly and quietly gets in.

The room was filled with glass cases and framed paintings and in the center of the room stood a glass case strange seals on it. Inside was an egg adorned with jewels and gold. The box was sealed with paper. On the paper, strange runic writing, and the box emanated an ominous feeling. The thief shakes herself and realizes that she is 2 meters away from the glass. Why did she come closer? This thing gave her a feeling of disgust, but it also gave her this great feeling of temptation. She could not stop herself and stripped the paper away. Suddenly, a chill ran down her spine and the room's temperature noticeably got colder. The thief not wanting to stay any longer left the way she came and went back home in a hurry. In her mind was the dream of a better life and a promising future. In her hand was the birth of evil.
