Chapter 2: Year 1
All around the house you couldn't hear anything, as if a baby wasn't even there. Today it's supposed to be the baby's birthday...
The baby's parents were asleep, until they hear a knock on their door. The father of the baby (John) gets up and goes to the door.
He first looks trhough a hole in the door to see who it is. After seeing it's his brother (Erick) he proceeds to open the door.
When he opened the door he saw a really happy bunch of persons. His brother had brought their parents, His wife and kids, and their sister.
What the hell are all of you doing here?... - he asks while seeing all of them with gifts and balloons
What do you mean? - Responds his brother to John
When he says this he's still smiling. He right after looks at John, seeing him still in his pijamas.
John... - His smile wipes out - It's 10 in the morning... and... - he says pointing to one of the balloons
John reads what it says on the balloon...
Happy... Birthday?... - he thinks - it's not my birthday... - he paused - Is it?... - he looks around noticing how the atmosphere started to get awkward
John... - he crossed his arms - it's your daughter's birthday... - his brother says to him
After that Erick pushes his brother aside from the door and all of them start to come in. While their father was passing besides John he looked at him.
He stopped to look at his son and show him the disgusted he was by him.
You... Are a disgrace... - he tells his son John to than enter the house
When Erick entered he went directly to Levi's room. She was soundly sleeping, so he takes the baby and starts bringing it to the living room where everyone was.
When he was going through the hall to the living room he moves the baby and notices something. Her clothes were all full of dirt, as if she hadn't been changed in days, Her little white body was grey under her feet and in parts of her hands.
He than after seeing all of this rushed to the living room...
Sara... - he calls his wife's attention - Give me the baby's gift... - he tells his wife seeing her pass it to him
What's wrong? - says Sara to her husband than looking at the baby - When was she last bathe? - she says than looking at John and his wife who was going down the stairs squeaky clean
I think it was... - she puts a finger to her mouth thinking - two... no three days ago... - everyone looks at them...
John and Ericks mother starts to get up indignated...
Her diaper? - she says looking at her son John
That I change once every day... - Responds John
After hearing that his brother Erick takes the baby to her room and goes to the bathroom to start cleaning and changing her diaper.
He gently starts to wake the baby up. He takes a little towel and wets a corner of it and starts putting it in your eyes to wake the baby up.
When she finally wakes up, he starts to gently put you on the bathtub. he had brought some bath toys for the baby so she can play.
Erick let the baby spent almost an hour on the bathtub playing. After that he took the baby to a little table on her room and putted a brand new diaper on her.
Your just an angel... - Erick says carrying you - He takes a already prepared bottle of milk and gives it to you while he sits on a chair in the baby's room - You haven't cried at all... - he says looking at the baby's wonderful hazel eyes
While this was happening in the baby's room... A battles zone was forming on the living room...
What have you two been doing?!?!?! - screams Erick's and John's mom
We've been raising a child!!!! - screams
John's wife
Oh Really... - says Erick's wife - You two aren't raising her! You two are showing the world how to be irresponsible parents! - she screams even louder - People like you have the blessing to have children!!! - she says pointing to John's wife to than start crying
Everyone stays quiet... Erick's and Sara's children go and hug her... Until John's wife breaks the silence...
Fortunately we didn't have to adopt... - everyone looks at them and at that exact moment Erick walks in to the living room with the baby on hands - Unlike you two... - she says looking at Sara and than at Erick behind her
Wait... - says one of the kids - We are... ADOPTED?!?!?!?!... - He says looking at his Mother
We can explain... - Says Erick giving the baby to his mother
So I've been living this 13 years with a family that isn't even mine?!?!?!?! - Screams the kid again
No... We are your family... - Says Sara trying to hug him
Don't touch me!!!! - he screams and than runs out of the house
They all stay static untill Sara falls down in tears. At that moment... the family fractured forever...
