Chapter 9: Oils & Talks

"What's yours?"
What the fuck? Is she trying to actively become my friend even though I clearly broke into her room? I examined the girl a little more thoroughly and saw that her eyes were a little bit bloodshot and her body was a little too relaxed to be a shinobi, in training or not
"Are you… high?"
If possible, her smile grew wider and she shrugged
"Shibuki-san called it CBD I think. It's supposed to help me relax and not think about the villagers.. it also helps Choumei calm down~"
Let me reiterate - what the fuck? I mean, I don't wanna sound offensive but it kinda makes sense in the anime…
It was then I saw her collection of bottles and glass pipes lying beside the framed butterflies and crystals
Well, this helps a lot. If there's anything I know how to deal with, it's a pothead. Hell, before I died, I used to grow for personal use up in Canada
"So what's your name?"
Fū snapped me out of my thoughts as I looked back upon her easy going face
"It's Sara… I came to ask you some questions"
The girl just waved me over to her beanbag chairs (bless) and we both sat down
She grabbed a vial of oil and dropped a couple drops into the side of her mouth, motioning me to ask away
"How old are you?"
"Hmmm~ Twelve~"
That shocked me back a bit
'And she's using a product developed in an environment like this?! I guess any lasting harmful effects would be taken care of by the big thing in her gut…'
I looked around and noticed I didn't see any sort of headband
"Are you not a genin yet?"
Fū seemed to sulk and pout when I mentioned that
"No… Shibuki-San wants to 'Wait as long as possible before I ruin my innocence'" She said with an imitation of Shibuki's voice
"Well, I wouldn't say he's wrong, but it could potentially harm your development like that"
Fū's eyes shot wide open with surprise
"What?! Really??? So I won't become a strong ninja?"
"No! No, I didn't mean that, it just means you will have to train longer than you would have to just to reach your full potential"
The girl slumped and I could see the Anime tears start forming by the corners of her eyes
A sigh exited involuntary and I patted her head
"How does the village treat you?"
Ah shit. How the fuck does this work? Her face is sad and angry at the same time…
"Everyone but Shibuki-San is a huge meanie! Sometimes I wish I could just get rid of them or run away…"

"What if I told you that you could? Run away from this village with me and come to a place where you can have friends?"
Fū seemed skeptical and even a little angry at that suggestion before abruptly closing her eyes, her face going through a myriad of emotions in the span of maybe 30 seconds before opening them again with her calm demeanor back on
'Did she just talk with Chomei? Interesting'
"My friend tells me that you're trustworthy, so I'll do it! Those villagers won't bat an eye anyways!"
On the outside, all I had was a small grin on my face. On the inside, I was dancing and cheering
Seriously, this was way too easy. More than I expected it to be. I at least thought, maybe I would have to convince her and tell maybe even come back again tomorrow but this is great!
"You're sure I'll have friends if I go with you?" Fū asked nervously scratching her cheek
"I'm sure. And if not, you will have me! I'm sure my brother will gladly accept you as well!"
Moments after that last word came out of my mouth, Fū jumped up and enveloped me in a tight hug
"Thank you…"

Faveryy If you don't know what CBD is - a simple 'What is CBD' search is enough. To put it simply, it's a cannabis extract that helps with anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, and other things. (I'm absolutely not an expert on the topic)
I figured - seeing as how Fū is a Jinchūriki, there is no way she would have gotten away with some sort of trauma or mental disorder from the process - even if not shown in the anime. Plus, it kinda scarily fits in with her character...
