Chapter 2: Past Fever Time

Damien had driven for the airport, with Lenè passed out in the passenger's seat. The children had panicked and a few had started crying. The noises had angered Damien, the longer he heard them the longer he'd think about his whore of a mother, and the screams of the child he'd once been. He quickly pulled over driving recklessly. The children had let out their muffled sobs, as Damien banged his head against the wheel repeating two words over and over, his voice growing louder "Stop it".

Her eyes flew open just as Damien started to lose his sanity. Lenè unbuckled her seat belt and grabbed Damien's face, facing him towards her. "Father, you mustn't scare the children, I'm here".

Lenè let go of his chin, Damien starred into her eyes, leaning in closer, only to straighten her hair and smile" Thank you, Lenè".

He stared back at the children "I'm sorry".

The children had calmed down as Lenè comforted them with her presence. Damien had started the engine, before kissing Lenè's forehead, then driving off. Lenè then flashbacked into a memory, a memory of Damien and her alone inside a hotel.

----------------------------------------******

"Father, Father where are you"?

Lenè stumbled into her Father's room.

watching him stand there naked.

She then covered her eyes "I'm so sorry father I didn't mean to----

"You can look".

She willingly uncovered her eyes as she walked closer to him.

He stared into her eyes as he placed his hand on her face, stroking her hair. He leaned closer towards her face, and pressed his lips against her, slowly, passionately.

He groped her breasts, through her shirt. She had panted, "Father, I'm uncomfortable", she quickly spoke. He stopped, as she covered her bare breasts "I'm so sorry, Father".

"Leave, and don't come back into this room until I say so", he said in a solemn tone.

As Lenè left, Damien had treasured every touch of Lenè's body, but he couldn't help but think he wasn't her father anymore. While Lenè started to cry on the other side of the door mourning the loss of the father she never had.

The next day, Damien had the brightest smile on his face as he walked into Lenè's room. "Get up we're going somewhere", he yelled.

Lenè opened her eyes, and replied: "Yes, Father".

He took Lenè's hand as she was still in her nightgown, half asleep. He walked her onto the balcony, watching her eyes widen as she had the sunrise in her eyes. Gazing upon the entire city. Damien stood behind her, whispering in her ear "It's as beautiful as you...now let your hair down".

"Father I - - -

"Lenè, you need to let go of them".

"You know I can't Father"! She raised her voice.

"Or should I even call you that? She faced him and cried staring Damien in his cold blue eyes.

"Do you think they still love you? As much as I do? Your mother used crack instead of taking care of you. Don't get me started with your sex offender of a Father—-

"Oh you mean you!", she yelled.

Damien gave her a smile of denial and said: "Go back to them".

As he left the balcony Lenè broke down in tears, as Damien let his anger get the best of it, he closed the back door "Damnit", he yelled. As he couldn't stand Lenè's tears. He threw glass onto the wall, and listening to the shattering of the glass, while the glass bounced off the wall, it cut his face. He stood there for a second then kneeled to pick the glass up, cutting himself in the process. But he continued as if he wanted to feel the pain. Lenè spotted Damien on the floor, she quickly ran to him, grabbing him by his wrists "What were you doing?!, she cried.

He simply replied with "I'm tired". As he released himself from Lenè's grasp. Standing, with blood dripping from his cut fingertips, palm, and fingers. He looked into Lenè's eyes with a cold stare and watched her freeze in place as he walked off into his separate room. She started to tear up, wiping the tears as they were falling down her face, she changed her clothes, put on her shoes, and left the room to find a broom. By the time she came back, she found the rest of the glass gone, and Damien sat on top of the counter with bandaged fingers. "I won't do it again", he said in a solemn tone. "If it means losing you as my daughter, I won't do it again".

He hopped off the counter, and stuck his hand out "Deal"?

Lenè hesitantly nodded.

-----------------------------------------

There was nothing but silence in the car, Lenè decided to break the silence "Where are we going, Father?"

"Switzerland, my dear".
