Chapter 1: Chapter 1
The heavy tension lingers in the atmosphere. The crowd went silent, all eyes at the two students in front of them. The white-haired girl curled her hands into fists. Gritted teeth, sharp look and shaking hands due to anger.
"What?" the brown-haired guy asked with a grin. "Are you mad at me now?" He could see how mad Freya is and he plans to make it even worse.
"Do you think you could have your way just because you are the daughter of the school owner? Huh, Freya? Is that what you're fighting for?"
"Shut up," Freya mumbled, only Zilong heard her. "Just apologize for what you did and I'll let you off the hook."
Zilong laughed which made the crowd curious on what they are talking about.
"Apologize?" Zilong scoffed. "Come on, Freya, what did I do? Did I just embarass you and you want me to apologize?"
He turned to the crowd who had been watching them.
"You guys, should I apologize for saying the truth?" he asked. "The truth that this girl whom you like has cheated just to become the school president."
Murmurs covered the wide court. The crowd looks at Freya with disgust and disappointment. Zilong turned to his side to face the white-haired girl.
"If you did not cheat, then why make a fuss about it?" he asked, "Plus, someone gave me a video of you going inside the Student Council office right after the election."
Frey could not hold it in any longer. She could feel the disgust being thrown at her. She is not a cheater, she never cheated, she will never cheat, not now, not ever. But from that moment, on that court, she is a cheater in everyone's eyes.
She lifts her head to look at her rival in the eyes, her tears that she had been keeping has fallen down her cheeks.
"I never cheated. I am not so low to that. I never cheated," she cleared out but he did not believe her.
"Stop the facade, Freya. You may be the daughter of this school's owner but you do not have the right to meddle with the election. You arr ruining yourself," Zilong said which made Freya lift her hand, open-palmed, and slaps him as hard as she could on his face.
Her tears continued to flow, she turned her back, away from the people who has accused her of cheating. She walked away as fast as she could from that place.
Zilong clicked his tongue and held his left cheek. It hurts. It turned red and Freya's hand made a visible mark on it. Irithel ran up the stage and forced Zilong to face her. She saw the hand mark, she frowned as she held his cheek.
"How dare her do this to you?" she spits. She brought some cooling pad and placed it on his left cheek. "Don't worry, the principal has already decided. He will give Freya detention and the election shall be held next month once more."
"That's good news, then," Zilong said before taking his leave.
