Chapter 11: Spider-X Chapter 10
Opening scene Peter is lying on his bed in his room. He looks at his clock and sees it's 7:30 in the morning. "Well might as well get up," I say as I get my day started. I pack a bag for work with my costume, phone, and everything else I'll need, and head downstairs. I walk into the kitchen and see Kitty sitting at the table looking at her phone. "Morning Ghost," I say to Kitty. Kitty sighs and says "You're not gonna stop calling me that are you".
"No, I think it suits you," I say with a smile. I get breakfast started and make my signature pancakes.
"Are you making those pancakes Bobby wouldn't stop talking about" Kitty asked.
"Yep want some," I say with a huge smile on my face.
"Sure," Kitty said. I give Kitty a small stack of pancakes and some bacon. We both sat down and started eating.
"Oh my God, these are the best pancakes I've ever had," Kitty said with wide eyes. "Where did you learn to cook like this". I look down and just say "My aunt".
"I didn't know you had any family," Kitty said.
"I don't" I respond.
"I'm sorry for your-" Kitty started to say when I interrupted her and said, "Just drop it please". Kitty looked at me with sad eyes for a minute as we ate in silence before I broke the tension and asked: "So do all missions for the X-Men go like yesterday's".
"Well saving people from Magneto is pretty much the norm, but the cure thing was unusual even for us," Kitty said happy to be talking again. "Speaking of the cure what do you think about it" Kitty continued.
"What do you mean," I asked.
"Like should their even be a cure, or is curing mutations the same as curing Judaism would we essential being getting rid of an oppressed minority" Kitty asked. I sit quietly and think for a moment and say
"I think it depends". "If the cure was forced on everyone with an X-gene it would be the same as mass genocide, but maybe if the cure was regulated or only used on people that didn't want their powers or those that abused them maybe the cure could be a good thing".
"The only problem with that is once the cure was successfully made how much would you bet that the governments of the world go the mass genocide route," Kitty says
"True I wouldn't trust anyone with the power to choose who gets to stay a mutant and who doesn't," I said.
"Mutants are already abused and oppressed worldwide no way they wouldn't want to get rid of us all" Kitty said. We both look at each other for a second too long. Kitty turns red looking in my eyes and is the first to break eye contact looking down at her plate. "In this perfect world where the cure isn't abused would you take it," Kitty asks. I put my finger on my chin, and think again for a moment.
"Short answer no," I say flatly.
"What's the long one," Kitty asks
"My powers were never my problem it was how I was treated or how I used them if I got rid of them now there be no point the damage has already been done," I say. Kitty just smiles and looks at me for a minute. "Is their syrup on my face?" I ask?
"No just that what you said is exactly how I feel about the cure," Kitty said as she looked at me lovingly. "What are you doing today," Kitty asks without breaking eye contact.
"I just have work till 3 today why" I question.
"I know a nice place we could go to for dinner I need to pay you back for the best breakfast I've had in a while," Kitty says.
"Sure I'd be happy to go with you to dinner." "Wait are you asking me out like on a date," I say wide-eyed and stunned. Kitty suddenly got bashful and said "Maybe". I paused and a thousand questions went through my head "Oh my god I just got asked out" "This would be my first official date" "Wait does Kitty even like me" "Yeah she's cute but I've never been in a relationship" "Do I have to dress up" "I don't even own a suit". As I stare awkwardly all that comes out of my mouth is "Ahhhhh"
"Peter are you Ok," Kitty asks with concern in her voice.
"Yes," I say
"Yes to the ok or yes to the date," Kitty asks
"Yes," I say again
"I think that means he likes you too," Bobby said as he walked in the kitchen.
"BOBBY!?" we both said in unison.
"How long have you been standing there," Kitty asks embarrassed.
"Long enough," Bobby says. "Look at you two finally going out now it won't be as awkward when I see you two flirting".
"Leave Bobby!" Kitty yells.
"Fine" Bobby says as he grabs my leftovers and walks out the room. Still coming to terms with the fact that I got asked out so suddenly I ask "So a date a real date me and you"
"Yes, Peter a real date. Meet me back here at around 4 and we leave at 5 and wear something nice" Kitty gives the instructions and walks away. "That really just happened" is all I can think. I go to work and have a pretty good day Jonah yells at me for something, but I can't seem to focus on him today. I hurry back to the mansion to get ready for "My date". I love saying that "My Date". I search through my clothes looking for anything appropriate, but I don't have anything. I think about who would have anything I know that I can wear as I step outside my room. As soon as I close my door I see Scott walking up the hallway.
"Hello Peter excited for your date," Scott says with a huge smile.
"How do you even know about that," I ask.
"Bobby told everybody as soon as you went to work" Scott replied. I think I'm going to kill that kid one of these days. Scott stares at me for a second and says "Why aren't you dressed yet shouldn't you be leaving soon"
"Yeah I'm trying I just don't have anything formal," I say.
"Is that all come with me I have something for you to wear?" Scott says almost excitedly.
"Really!?" I ask
"Yeah," he says as he walks into his room and opens his closet door. It was very well organized with formal wear on one side and casual clothes on the other. Scott reaches to the back of his closet and pulls out a classic black suit jacket and pants. "Try this on it should be your size," Scott says. I go to the bathroom and change my clothes the suit fits great everything was just my size except for the pants which were a little too long and I had to cuff them. I come out of the bathroom and Scott asks "How does it fit".
"Great I say why do you have this," I ask
"I've been meaning to get rid of it it's what I wore on my first date with Jean," Scott says looking off into the distance. "Well, you're going to need a tie lucky for you I have a couple" Scott pulls out a few different ties and asks "Normal or Bow".
"I don't know how to tie either so I guess normal," I say. Scott shows me how to do a simple knot for my tie it took me a couple of tries, but I finally got it. Just then Jean walked into the room.
"Is that your old suit" Jean says to Scott pointing at me
"Yep," Scott replies.
"I didn't know you even still had it," Jean says walking towards Scott and hugging him.
"I just got rid of it" Scott replies.
"What" I respond.
"I don't need it anymore and it clearly fits you so you should keep it," Scott says.
"Are you sure you said it was a memento of your first date?" I say.
"Yep now it's yours," Scott says.
"Thanks, I'll take good care of it," I say as I hurry out the room. I look at the clock on the wall and see I still have time to meet up with Kitty out front. As I walk past the kitchen I see Logan grabbing a beer out the fridge.
"Hey kid" Logan called out. "You going out with Kitty tonight right".
"Bobby told you too," I ask.
"Bobby told everyone," Logan says. "Since your going don't do anything I wouldn't do," Logan says as he reaches in his pocket and hands me a box of condoms.
"What are you doing," I say loudly.
"Condoms kid your gonna need protection," Logan says while sipping his beer.
"This is the first date for Christ sake Logan," I say furiously.
"Yeah like two teenagers on a first date never try to hook up without protection," Logan says sarcastically.
"I'm not planning on doing that," I say.
"Yeah that's exactly why I gave you the condoms," Logan says as he looks at his watch "It's 5 till shouldn't you be outside by now Kitty's already waiting".
"Shit," I say. I quickly stuff the condoms in my jacket pocket and run out the front door. I see Kitty standing in a bright yellow sundress with a flower barrette holding her hair behind her ears. "Wow," I say with my eyes wide.
"I'll take that as a compliment," Kitty says
"You look" I stop and just say "Wow".
"You clean up nice yourself," Kitty says then looks at her phone and says "The restaurant only a mile away we can walk their no trouble" She grabs my hand and leads the way.

Anthony_Essex I've been really busy lately and haven't been able to update sorry. This chapter was supposed to be longer but this was all I could manage sorry I will try to have a short chapter out tomorrow.
