Chapter 22: Defeating Buggy.
At a local bar called "Drinker Pug", all of Buggy's fleet was getting ready for a large party. Buggy seemed to be in the most celebratory mood, showing-off his love for partying.
Thud… He stood up on the table and held his drink up high in the air.
"We now have a map to the Grand Line and 4 new crew members. Since out combat and navigation is now perfect, we drink to our heart's content. "
"Yahooooo...!!" The entire crew cheered loudly and drank to Buggy's announcement.
Music and circus acts were performed throughout the celebration. 'Buggy may not be the strongest… but his parties are second to none', I thought as I took a sip of my drink.
Zoro kept drinking booze at a rapid rate, and so did Nami.
Sigh… 'why are most people in my crew such a monster at drinking,' I hadn't even started my third drink before Nami and Zoros' drinks had reached the double digits.
"Huh… pirates are so simple. Just get them to drink and we can easily steal their treasures."
Nami whispered to me and then went on to have drinking contests with other pirates.
"Whoo!! It's the Vice-Captain Mohji!!"
At this instant, a man walked in with a muscular torso and thick lips, wearing a fur vest. He was riding a large, ferocious looking lion, signifying his status as an expert beast tamer.
He introduced himself to us, and I got up and introduced everyone in my crew.
Roooarrr … All of sudden, Mohji's pet lion roared at us loudly.
"Wh… What is it, why's it roaring."
Nami said, her voice shaky. She jumped from her seat and hugged me tightly.
Mohji frowned when he saw the behaviour of his lion.
"All beasts in the world listen to me… Calm down!"
Mohji rested his hand on the lion.
Roooarrr… The tiger roared just as loudly as before
"I would appreciate if one of you could fight the lion to appease him." Mohji said.
"What, already given up on the lion?" Noelle asked, a quizzical smile on her face.
By the time Zoro got annoyed and ready to teach the lion a lesson, I got up and added, "Hahaha, this is perfect…. I wanted to test a beast of mine too."
Immediately, a few people performing acrobatics on the stage back-flipped and got out of the stage. The only people remaining on the stage were me and Mohji with his pet lion.
Buzzz... Thunder Beast!
A magnificent, large lightning Grizzly Bear was summoned from a point in my finger. Everyone's jaw dropped in shock from what they were witnessing.
Rumble… Rumble noises came from the bear, like it was a lightning storm by itself. The bear stared at its opponent: one glare from it caused the lion to tremble. Bow-wow… The lion had lost all its previous grand appearance, looking like a scared dog ready to sneak away.
Before the bear could even attack, the lion ran away towards the beast tamer Mohji. It rammed into him on the way before running away from the venue.
"Nooo, vice-captain Mohji!!!"
"Wow... No one would dare mess with Cross-Senpai after seeing that again.
Buggy looked at me with a bitter smile too, 'This guy's stronger than me; I need to look grander, fitting of the status of Roger's legendary pirates,' He thrust his chest out proudly.
The night went by, and the pirates started passing out from being drunk. Nami the thief, even after drinking so much, ventured out excitedly. Her eyes were shining with greed.
Nami knocked one of the guards protecting Buggy's treasure and map, and went inside to steal it. She came back with a large chest and a map, giving us the go signal to escape from the plan.
Sadly for us, Buggy had a very high affinity for his treasure. He felt something was wrong, and he woke up to notice us running away with his treasure.
"You idiots!! What the hell are you all doing?! I gave you all the honour of being my crew members but you're all stealing my treasure. I will kill you!"
Buggy bared his teeth at us.
"Just try coming after us you big nose… we're just waiting to fight you." Zoro unsheathed his swords in anticipation.
Suddenly, one could see Buggy's face flushed from anger.
"Oh no… Buggy had destroyed the previous village because two children made fun of his nose" One of Buggy's pirate whispered.
Buggy got so angry that he started getting his 'Buggy Special Cannon Ball' ready to fire at us.
Nami sweated when she saw the cannon point towards us, but I reassured her that I'll handle it. Tsk… tsk… just a second before the canon fired, I heated the air particles around the canon with my Kari.
Boooom... A huge explosion occurred around the cannon, and many of Buggy's crew members were sent flying across.
"What-t happened to the cannon… was there any defect?"
Buggy asked, shocked by the self-destruction. Unfortunately for him, no one had answer to his question.
"Humph useless, just go ahead and attack!"
A bunch of them charged at us with their swords, their eyes radiating with the desire to kill. Zoro and Noelle took the lead and knocked many of them out.
"Zoro, take care of that weird looking acrobat swordsman. I've got dibs on Buggy." I said; my face had a leisure smile on it.
"You got it Cross…."
Zoro and Cabaji seperated for their showdown while I and Buggy stared each other down.

This wasn't even a fight. Buggy couldn't touch me and I just toyed with him while watching Zoro from a far. Buggy kept separating into multiple sections to escape from a regular strike from my trident.
Zoro had won comfortably against Cabaji, but he still watched Cross's fight with narrowed eyes.
'I could barely touch Buggy and Cross with their devil-fruit powers, I need to become strong enough to cut anything', Zoro clenched his fist. Normal people may have given up and bowed to Cross for his god-like performance… but for Zoro… his ambitions were not something that could be toppled so easily.
Currently, Buggy was sweating from the traumatizing experience he was going through. I curled my lip and decided to end his misery.
Electrical Discharge 5 Million Volts… I shocked his body, effectively freezing every section of his body.
In the end, we were able to successfully take all the treasures and the map away safely. Just like in the manga, I had tied parts of Buggy and chucked him far away. I couldn't get myself to kill the man, 'totally not because I wanted to see the marines have him as a warlord.'
"Ohh… Buggy said that he takes the best treasures for himself, so this bag should be worth at least at 10 million Berrys..and I've divided it into 3 bags for our convenience since they're heavy…..." Nami hugged the treasure bags and blabbed passionately about them for a long time.
Without delay, we quickly left the island and headed towards our next destination.
