Chapter 1: The beginning
"So as per the 'Battle of Clans' states the agreement between the Humans and the Majestros was broken by the later. They betrayed the people who were helping them survive in this world, they bit the hand that fed them; therefore after the war, the community had to face extermination. Some Majestros did survive this and now live among us. You could say they are paying for the sins of their ancestors. They are at the lowest level of the hierarchy. As per the statistics the number of the Majestros is at its all time low. But they must also remember the reason of their existence today was our willful thinking of not hunting down each one of them." Mrs. Adams said, "Now if Ms. Williams would care to repeat what I just discussed for the class." She exclaimed in a sarcastic tone.
Listening her name all of a sudden Nora was brought back to the real world. She jolted and stood up, "Ah, about that. You said...." Ding ding ding. The bell rang at the right time. Mrs. Adams gave Nora a scornful look and left the class.
Seeing her exit the class Nora slumped down on her seat and let out a small sigh and closed her eyes. "Hey, you really are one lucky brat." Nora opened her eyes and there she stood, her childhood friend, Tina. She was looking down at her while her hands were busy tying up her long blond hair. With that done, she put down her hands and let them rest on her hips and said with a smirk, "Can you not sleep in the History class every time." She said her green eyes giving a piercing look to Nora.
"Oh come on! I don't want to hear this from you now. Nevertheless, I am not interested in this. That woman teaches the same thing over and over again. Doesn't even change her words, I tell you." Nora said yawning and stretching herself. "Moreover this is just not my thing. Come let's go grab something. I'm starving." Tina smirked and followed Nora out of the classroom.
This was an everyday ritual, for them. Nora always ended up daydreaming in the History class and usually got caught by Mrs. Adams. But that did not stop her from doing this everyday.
Sadly History was a compulsory subject at University of Nuezelea, and couldn't be helped. The University of Nuezelea, one of the most prestigious universities in the country, had this little quirk. The universiity building had witnessed everything, the good era when everything was peaceful, the war which almost uprooted the nation and today it still stood tall, as new as ever. And over the decades this university has lived up to its reputation and has earned its status as the best university in the country.
A hand on her shoulder, brought Nora back to her senses, it was Tina. "So, how are you doing at the University, huh?!" She almost shouted in her ear. "Can you not be so close." Nora blurted.
Tina smirked and came in closer and hugged her. "So, are you going answer me now?", "Let go of me. I'll tell you." Nora said struggling to set herself free. But Tina overpowered her by four inches. "It's fine. Everything is fine except for that old Mrs. Adams. What's her damn problem?! Does she hate me or something?" Nora barked.
"Listen, she doesn't hate you, she just doesn't like you dozing off in her class. And secondly, mind your tone, remember I'm two years older than you." Tina said sounding all high and mighty. "Of course, even still we both are Freshers" Nora said with a sly smile.
Tina shook her head and smiled, "You-", but before Nora heard Tina's reply, she felt a stabbing pain in her head, it seemed as if lighting struck her. The world around her started to spin and before she realized it she was on the ground. She could hear Tina's concerned voice but after that it all went blank.
