Chapter 2: Emotions

As soon as Anita left, she tried to suppress her emotion that is rising like boiling water.
the heaven that she thought abandoned her has now given her a second chance to live her life the way she wants it. avoid mistake and make herself powerful that no one can hurt and trample her like a bug.
when she saw Anita earlier, she wants to hug her tightly and ask forgiveness because she is the main reason she died in her last life but looking at Anita's innocent face makes her stop making rash actions and think twice, from now on, she has to take hold control of her emotions, use her mind and not just for decoration for her to succeed!
Her full name is Estelle Rose of glassglow, an illegitimate daughter of the glassglow noble house. from the very start, she was a shame to the family. a lowly and unknown girl that was born from a one night with a maid. her mother is a kind woman but she was weak. her father gave her his last name because, for him, she is an accident that he has to be responsible for, but never once he bats an eye at her, not even once except the day he sold her to a disgusting man.
she still remembers like it happened yesterday, the beginning of her demise, last three days ago is the birthday of the eldest young miss, her father's most favorite daughter. he held an extravagant and fancy party for her and invited every nobleman and woman in the kingdom, it is said that even a royal would attend. this is how powerful the house of glassglow is.
Even though rose has the house master's blood, she is still a daughter of a maid and even though she was just seven years old, this reason won't exempt her from the household chores and duties, that day, she was assigned to water the plants when the second young miss came as usual to bully her.
The general of the glassglow house has 3 sons and 5 daughters and rose in the youngest of them all. her relationship with her other siblings is bad to the core, they hated her, abuse her, insult her and that is what is happening at that time.
"You're a stroke of bad luck! your mother is a slut that deserves to die" her sister sharp tongue said and since she was just but a little child, she can do nothing but to cry which makes her siblings happy. they really loved to make her cry. she was on the ground weeping when the eldest sister came and stopped her second sister from bullying her. she thought this sister is the kindest of all but she never knew how vicious and much worse she is. her eldest sister, at a young age, she already knew how to mask herself and scheme to others.
as an apology for what her second sister did. the eldest miss smiled at her widely like hiding something and invited her to her birthday party which made her really happy, as a child, she didn't know any other thing aside from that the party will be fun and fancy so she was very excited. when she gets back to her mother that very day, she excitedly told her everything as to what happened and that she was invited by her kind eldest sister. her beloved mother was just silently listening but then to her surprise, she strongly refused! she begged her to let her attend the party, she didn't request anything to her mother ever since and that was the very first time but she still refused and it deeply hurt her. she was very disappointed because she was really looking forward to it, greediness overcomes her and that's when she developed a foolish plan. the very first time she disobeyed her mother.
when it was the night of the party, she sneaked out and secretly walked herself to the party.
It all happened so fast, when she arrived, the party was just starting and she watched behind a tree and from afar, she saw her eldest sister led by a servant holding her by hand and came out from the mansion, she was wearing an extravagant and gorgeous big red gown full of sparkling things, she looked so beautiful and elegant, she felt strong jealousy deep in her heart but she knows her standing and place. her mother always reminded her that she is not the daughter of the house but rather a maid which she accepted a long time ago.
she watched her elder sister make her way to the crowd, exchanging greetings and such, her smile that time was so bright, looking so happy and she was everyone's apple of the eye. watching her for a long time makes her stomach growl, she hadn't had anything since breakfast, rose was but just a child that time who doesn't care about appearance nor knows about etiquette of higher society so when she walked to where the food is, with her messy hair and wrinkled servant clothes, adding to that some dirt on her face due to her escape, she was stared on by the people she walked past by and eventually some teenage noblewoman came, she subjected her of insults without even them knowing her. later on, some people mingled in and was led by her second sister. all of them looking down at her like she is an insect. she cried loudly. she expects she could eat lots of food and have fun, never in her imagination at that time that it would turn out like this.
The music stopped as the conductor was disturbed by the ongoing commotion and all the guest are looking, she wants to run away and hide from their judgemental stares when her sister pushed her and she fell on the pond. the night was cold and the water is freezing, but most of all, she doesn't know how to swim! she struggled and with full strength, she paddles her foot and hand very hard, while hanging for her life, she had a glimpse to the people nearby, wearing elegant gowns and suit, holding champagne and watching down at her. watching her like it was an entertaining show, the music resumed again.
that's when she knew, no one is willing to save her, they watched her as she holds on her dear life, with tears on her eyes, she felt fear. very very scared for the first time, she can feel little by little that her hands and feet becoming very heavy, out of strength, then when she can't feel her arms and legs, she slowly sank into the deep pond, getting deeper and deeper. like being suck by the abyss.
'No! No! someone please!' she screams in her mind.
she touched her throat suffocating but she still kept paddling her feet even though she's still sinking, then a bit later, when out of air and strength, her body got numb and gave up and just sinking more deeply, that's when she felt someone jump and saved her. she owes that person a lot and it still remains a mystery for her. moving forward, she still got sick and she woke up after 6 days in the past. unlike today, is the third day only, but it wall all too late.
before in her past life, when she woke up, she was already in a mountain, specifically in a bamboo house, wondering and struggling, she tried to stand and walk outside the small room. when she opened the door, she saw the head maid sitting and drinking tea and then she looked at her direction with cold eyes. she could still remember clearly their conversations
"you're awake" she simply said, rose nodded and took the chair made of bamboo and sat in front of her
"head maid, may I ask as to where we are?" Rose asked
"You are in one of the glassglow's property, in the mountain of thorn, Rose listen to me properly, I will relay to you the master's words" rose nodded feeling nervous and confused. why is she here and where is her beloved mother?
"As a punishment of being an unfilial daughter and ruining your elder's sister party, you are ban from entering the glassglow's mansion and other properties until I said so. you will have to fend for yourself until you will learn and forgiven" the head maid said and when she stood, she panicked. she looked at the head maid with a teary eye, she begged her not to leave her alone, she is but a child and doesn't know anything!
how can her father do this? how can her mother leave her all here? where is her beloved sister? she is always helping, surely she will forgive her!
"Sorry! sorry! sorry! I didn't mean to, please head maid, please! do not leave me alone, I'm afraid, so scared" she begged her as she clenched on the dress not letting go no matter how the head maid tries to remove her hands.
but she still left.
she still remembers how she struggled for survival, remembers how to walk for miles because the town is very far and to have something to eat, she has to burn her skin to look for wild plants and vegetables, she still remembers how she cries at night. how hard life was. Alone. as years past, she got used to it and longs to see her family, she is still hoping and wishing that the day will come and her mother will come and get her. take her away from this sufferings.
when she turns fifteen, she was surprised to see the head maid again.
she saw her with guards, she runs fast towards them and when they saw her, they all bowed and greet her with respect. her eyes swell, they came at last! moving forward, they took her away, dressed her up and gone to capital. rose eyes roam excitedly as they passed the capital and then stopped at the big gate of the house glass glow. she felt the warm welcome of the servants and they treat her with respect but she notices that there is something in their eyes but she can't tell what it was. she pushed it back into her mind. she continued to walk inside the glamorous mansion and when in front of the hall, she saw all her siblings and stepmother. but there is someone missing. ever since she entered the mansion. her eyes were looking for this person but the up until now, not a shadow of her can be seen.
"Rose, my dear, meet the Duke Henry of the house Herington, he is to be your husband"
"Rose, you bitch! you are nothing but a small villager from god knows where! you are unworthy of this duke! I want your elder sister from the very beginning, I was to be wed to her but instead, you came in! I promise you will regret marrying me."
"Ha! foolish little girl, I killed your mother long before. ah, It feels just like yesterday, it's just right after my party that time, I was about to sleep when your disgusting mother barged into my quarters. begging, kneeling, and kissing my feet, asking for me to save you from the wrath of father but because she disturbed my sleep, I said if she jumps from my room, I'll consider" the person whom she thought she could trust looked at her mockingly and with disdain while speaking to her
"and guess what, your mother did! she died on the spot with blood all over her head hahaha.." she continued and laugh madly.
Foolish! she really is!
Her eyes started tearing up as she remembers, her mother, her kind and poor mother - -
the harsh reality was thrown at her.
she was given a second chance to change her life but not the chance to save her beloved mother that breaks her heart cause never she will see her smiles and caring face ever again. but she has to endure this pain and move forward.
supposedly she will be waking up in a mountain after 3 more days. in the past, she will be reunited with Anita when she returns from the mountain and that time, Anita always looked at her with a guilty face but even though she has secrets she kept, she all did what she has to for her own good.
now she has a chance to change her fate now, she definitely will
to those people
she will give back all the hurt, tears, and suffering she experienced had tenfolds
they are vicious? she will be cruel
they are bad? she will be worse
they are rich? she will be prosperous enough to buy a city or two
they have a connection? then she will have the authority
"Never be and Never will again" she muttered to herself
