Chapter 3: Leaving

"I need to leave this place." was what Wizroth thought as he looked at the large boulder in front of him.

Concentrating some Destruction energy in his right fist, he focused it at his knuckles and when he was satisfied, he punches the boulder really fast.

BOOM

The boulder cracked like a web around it but it didn't explode as one would expect but instead, it waited for several seconds before the cracked spread and then the boulder turned into small stones.

This what he had learned from this week of training as he will only be fighting enemies that only knew physical attacks as it would be very rare to find someone who can attack the soul.

That is the reason that he decided to first train in the Edict of Destruction. He knew that he will be fighting a lot of enemies in the future. He wants to be ready when that time comes and he will not hesitate to go for the kill if it concerns his life.

The next on his list to train will be the Edict of Fate than the Edict of Life and lastly the Edict of Death. The reason for this order is that he was focusing on what will be most needed.

He is blind and he should be focusing first in the Edict of Life so he can heal his eyes. But because he can still see through sense, he thought that he should first improve his strength so that he will have more time to train in the Edicts of Life.

"Great! I can now finally destroy that boulder by only using the strength of a first rank warrior." Wizroth said. He then went back to the only house left standing in the town.

Getting inside, he went to the kitchen part then open the cabinet where he was storing the meat he had preserved with salt. He picked it up then put it inside the leather bag he had also just found.

He had nothing else to take with him as he didn't find any clothes that would fit him and there are no other things worth taking with him. He planned to go to the O'Brien Empire's Imperial Capital which is the Channe City as it was the nearest here.

Their town name is Stonewall Town attributed to the tall walls that used to be proudly standing surrounding their town protecting them from the threats of Magical Beasts as they are located near the Mountain Range of Magical Beasts.

"That should be all of it. It's still early in the morning so I might as well start now." with his eyes closed not like he really needed them open, he started walking towards the direction of Channe City.

Wizroth had calculated that he will need about a week to travel to the city if he is only walking while he needed only about three days if he runs. But he decided to just walk there as he can take this chance to absorb some more spiritual energy to improve his soul.

Even though it was already very pure as that what is needed in order to be able to train in the Edict of Death. His soul was also sword-shaped, a pure golden in color and can also manifest in real life.

Though he still needed to train some more so he can manifest his soul, but he knew that someday he would be able to. Manifesting the soul into reality is one of the requirements to train in the Edicts of Fate as a part of the soul will be used in attacks.

That is why those who train in the Edicts of Fate are known for having very strong souls as they are tempered so that they will be able to cause more damage to their enemies.

Meanwhile, having a golden soul is the requirement to train in the Edicts of Life. The more golden the soul is the more potent will be the healing effects. His soul was the most gold one so he will have an extremely potent healing ability but that is in the future when he will be able to utilize its full power.

A beautiful carriage raced through the road as it speeds off pulled by a third rank horse type magical beast known as the Fergan Horses. A famous type of horse mostly used by nobles as a sign of wealth.

Inside the carriage was a young lady with a golden hair and blue eyes, a young man with also a short golden hair and had a somewhat similarities with the girl and a middle-aged man that looked like the older version of the boy.

"Dixie, how is your cultivation?" The middle-aged man asked the boy named Dixie. He was looking at the window of the carriage asking casually about it.

"I'm doing fine father. I have already reached the sixth rank and it won't be long before I reach the seventh rank." Dixie said to his father. But deep in his mind, he was thinking about Linley the boy who was younger than him but was already able to be ahead of him.

Dixie may not be the competitive type on the surface but internally, he loves to compare himself to others as this will help him have a sense of rivalry which will also motivate him to work harder.

"That's good to hear. What about you Delia?" The middle-aged man, who was their father is named Dylla. The current patriarch of the Leon Clan one of the ancient clans in the Yulan Empire.

Delia, hearing what her father was asking was a bit ashamed as she was not that talented as her brother. She hesitated whether to tell him or not ad she doesn't want her father to be disappointed with her.

Dylla saw how his daughter was struggling to tell him and can't help but sigh. He was already very proud of the two of them but Delia is the only problem as she keeps on lowering herself even though she was already very talented.

"Delia my dear, you don't have to be so worried about it. I just want to know the progress of your cultivations but my true purpose here is to spend some time with you guys." Dylla said to Delia gently.

He will be on a business trip to Channe City for several years and it will be long before they will see each other again that is why he asked them to accompany him there.

"Father look!" Delia suddenly pointed outside the carriage. Dylla thought she was just changing the topic of their conversation but hen he turns to look at the direction she was pointing he saw a destroyed town.

"What happened here?" Dylla asked. It was saddening as he looked at the town destroyed. He was also aware that this was a very isolated town so who would go here just to destroy it?

Dixie was also surprised as he looked at the town. Delia was looking around here like she was looking for something, that was when she saw footprints that are still very fresh.

She got out of the carriage as she went to look closely at the footprints. Dixie and Dylla were both surprised by Delia's actions and Dylla can't help but ask.

"Delia where are you going?" He then followed her.

Aside from the carriage, they also have the escort of three ninth rank warriors and several eight rank warriors. They have nothing to be worried but seeing this kind of destruction they can't help but be worried.

This range of destruction was very large as it covers the whole town. They had no idea who did this and there are many factors unknown so they can't risk anything.

Delia arrived near the footprints as she then looked at the direction where it was going. She saw that it was going to Channe City so she turned to her father and said.

"Father there is one survivor left and is heading to Channe," Delia said as she then goes back to the carriage.

Dixie and Dylla looked at each other not knowing what just happened. They had no idea why Delia was acting like this, what they didn't know is that she knew someone from this town and finding of what happened to it made her really worried.

Delia just hopes that nothing wrong happened to her.
